Jason Poole
Psychologist, PsychD, HCPC - Clin. Psych.
I have a particular interest in supporting neurodivergent adults, children, couples and families, including autistic people, those with ADHD, and those exploring whether neurodivergence is part of their story.
I work with adults, children and families experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, and the challenges of neurodivergence. My practice is rooted in Narrative Therapy, helping people separate themselves from problems, reconnect with their strengths and values, and build lives that feel more meaningful and authentic.

Additionally i have spcific experience of helping adults with ADHD who need help to manage symptoms such as problems with organisation, time management, organisation, planning and anger management.
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a short-term, goal-oriented psychotherapy treatment that takes a hands-on, practical approach to problem-solving. Its goal is to change patterns of thinking or behavior that are behind people’s difficulties, and so change the way they feel. It is used to help treat a wide range of issues such as anxiety and depression.

Specialize in supporting people experiencing complex and childhood trauma, PTSD, anxiety, OCD, phobias, ADHD, emotional difficulties, abuse and emotional instability, as well as a range of other challenges that can affect your wellbeing, relationships and everyday life.
Working with me offers a space that feels calm, grounded, and unhurried. A place where you can slow down, breathe, and gently turn inward without fear of judgement. I won’t rush you towards answers or offer quick fixes. Instead, we take the time to understand what lies beneath the surface - the emotions, patterns, experiences, memories and parts of yourself that may be shaping how you think, feel, and experience life. Together, we create space for greater understanding, clarity, and meaningful change. For me, human connection is central to healing. When you feel safe and genuinely understood, meaningful change becomes possible.

Joanne Ramsdale
Counsellor, DCounsPsych, MBACP
I have extensive experience around a vast array of presenting issues in particular anxiety, trauma, anger management, relationships issues, communication problems, work related issues, health and social anxiety, ADHD, loss and bereavement.
Unheard, misunderstood, confused, unsure, lost, desperate, feeling stuck, wanting to feel 'normal'. Any of these reasons and more can lead us to seek Counselling. I have been a therapist for 13 years, and practice in a Person-Centred way. What this means is, I truly believe when someone comes to see me they want to be listened to, not told it will be OK, or try this and do that. You have probably tried those things and still feel the same. What's needed is someone with the skill to help you navigate your feelings on a deeper level, to give you greater understanding of how you have come to feel the way you do.

My clients are individuals who are struggling to make sense of how they are feeling and situations they are going through. They may be experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, burnout, low confidence, low self esteem, Imposter Syndrome, relationship issues, bereavement, OCD etc. They come to therapy because they need support. They may have been managing alone for a long time and have finally reached a point where they know something needs to change. They want to feel better, think more clearly and reconnect with who they really are, gain back control and feel more confident and in control. That is exactly how I help.

I appreciate that people might be coming to therapy with different preconceptions, goals, past experiences, and/or worries. As starting therapy takes a lot of courage, it is important we go at your pace. As such, our first session together will focus on: Getting to know each other to make sure I am the right fit for you, and exploring the difficulties you would like support with. We might also start to develop your goals and think about the type of therapy best suited to meet these. covering other important aspects such as confidentiality, session length, and timings so we know what to expect from each other.

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?
You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.

How does treatment for ADHD work?
Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioural therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.

How long does treatment for ADHD take?
It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
