My name is Kerry I am a counsellor in LN5 Lincoln and I pride myself on creating a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore what’s on your mind. Are you feeling stuck, anxious, or unsure of who you are? I work with people who want to understand themselves more deeply, explore patterns that no longer serve them and reconnect with what matters most. In a calm and supportive space, we’ll make sense of your inner experience and what it means for your life moving forward. My approach is tailored to your needs—whether you're navigating change, feeling overwhelmed, or simply curious about what’s beneath the surface.

I work with adults (18+) experiencing anxiety, low mood, confidence and self-worth difficulties (including perfectionism), life transitions such as menopause or divorce, relationship challenges, and bereavement.
My approach integrates CBT and person-centred therapy. Together, we look at both what’s happening now and the patterns underneath — not just to understand them, but to gently shift them. Sessions are collaborative and tailored to you. Sometimes we’ll focus on practical tools; other times we’ll take a step back and explore things more deeply.

Hello, my name is Lisa . I am an experienced Private Psychotherapist who has previously practiced in the NHS. Many of the clients I see are not able to pinpoint what is wrong but know they feel confused and unhappy without understanding why. However you are feeling just now, things can change in time with the right support. Talking to a psychotherapist who is trained to help you make some sense of what is concerning you is the first step towards feeling better. The most important thing is for you to feel safe and comfortable with whoever you choose. This trust will encourage you to explore your thoughts and feelings more freely.

A warm welcome to you. I want to help you transform your relationships through understanding yourself and what happens in your communication with others. When you can appreciate why you respond in certain ways and how you can effect change, you can feel liberated and comfortable in moving forward. It is no surprise that at times it can be a troubling event, a new challenge, or some discomfort in your life that compels you to take the time to discover your inner strengths, your own worth, and what it will take to overcome these challenges.

I am HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist (specialising in Autism, ADHD, Children, Adults & Families). Many people I work with are trying to understand complex or long-standing difficulties. Parents may be worried about anxiety, school avoidance, emotional regulation, behavioural concerns, or possible neurodivergence (such as autism or ADHD). Adults may be questioning autism, ADHD, trauma, or patterns that have never fully made sense. They’re often looking for a space where experiences can be understood properly and where a clearer way forward can be found.

I am a UKCP psychotherapist specialising in working with couples and families. Couples will inevitably have problems and suffer disillusionment, this is normal and not a sign your relationship is doomed. Problems in families are often laid at the door of one person but as we look at what is going on we usually find that the problem is in the system. I have training working with adult adoptees and lived experience with neurodiversity so understand how these experiences effect couples and families.

In my experience, we often come to therapy when we feel stuck in a way of living which has become increasingly difficult and painful to sustain. Perhaps you feel life is simply surviving not thriving; that relationships have become a prison or a battlefield; that you are lost, without purpose or passion; that the future seems more scary than exciting? If any of this resonates with you, my existential approach will help you explore and process any trauma in your past; pain in the present and anxiety about the future. Helping to bring the 'real you' out of hiding and find a more joyful, peaceful and authentic way of living.

A good relationship or 'fit' and genuinely ‘feeling felt’ play a huge part in the success of therapy. This role is where every path I took in a challenging life was leading to – helping others navigate the mental well being difficulties we all face. Sometimes we are aware of the exact reason(s) we need to talk to someone, at others it can be a struggle to pinpoint why we feel so low. Modern life carries more pressures than ever, a non-judgemental space, where you can reflect with clarity, in an empathic environment, is vital to maintaining a good sense of who you are. We'll find a way forward together, with your leading the way.

Life can be daunting and can give us painful experiences that stay with us. As humans this is sometimes too much for us to bear alone. Reaching out is the first step in working through the things that are making you feel stuck. I provide a space where you can safely explore things that are troubling you, whether these are in your day-to-day life or have been with you for a long time. When things go wrong painful feelings and memories can emerge that can make us feel anxious, depressed, isolated and hopeless. Psychotherapy can help you make sense of these feelings and help you find a more solid sense of yourself.

People seek therapy for many different reasons. It can be somewhere to pause and reflect, make sense of experiences, navigate change, deepen self-understanding, develop new perspectives, or explore patterns in relationships. Some want to clarify their values, strengthen boundaries, heal from past experiences, or cultivate healthier relationships in their lives. Therapy offers time and space for reflection, exploration, and personal growth around issues such as anxiety, loss, trauma, attachment, identity and more, at a pace that feels manageable for you.

Self Esteem Counsellors
When should a person seek therapy for low self-esteem?
When self-esteem problems begin to disrupt the healthy daily functioning of an individual, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If a person finds that they are not engaging with friends for fear of being judged, not completing work assignments because they don’t think they’re capable, or not finding romantic love because they don’t feel they’re worthy of it, a therapist may be able to help.

What are the signs of low self-esteem?
Low self-esteem is a common issue that can affect a person's mental and emotional well-being. Some common signs of low self-esteem include negative self-talk, perfectionism, social anxiety, difficulty making decisions, an inability to set boundaries, people-pleasing, and others. A lack of belief in oneself or one’s abilities and a feeling of not being worthy or deserving underlie most of these characteristics.

What causes low self-esteem?
Feelings of low self-worth can begin in childhood or adulthood. Being raised by a highly critical parent or growing up feeling constant disapproval can stay with a person well into adulthood. Specific issues in adulthood may also be a cause of low self-esteem. An unhappy relationship, a dysfunctional work or school experience can impact a person’s feelings of self-worth.

How can therapy improve self-esteem?
Therapists can help identify negative thought patterns that keep the client stuck in a loop of destructive self-talk and develop coping skills to change the voice in their head. A therapist can help with goal-setting, so that clients are better able to stay on task and build confidence from successfully completing work they’re proud of. Coaching a client on how to better communicate can improve relationships. These skills can result in someone with low self-esteem feeling empowered and living with less fear.
