There are many reasons you may be seeking counselling but I imagine you are wanting something to change. Counselling is not only about what we think of ourselves and our life but more importantly, our felt sense of ourselves our visceral experience of life and our inner experience. Giving space and awareness to our experience is what informs us of what is needed for healing, growth and change. My aim is to facilitate a relationship that is tailored to you and created with you. This provides the conditions for you to freely and safely explore the challenges you may face as well as the trauma or difficulties you have experienced.

Life can be wonderful in so many ways, and yet it can bring so many challenges too. Add into the mix parenting and neurodiversity and the world can become a confusing, overwhelming place. There are new dynamics, relationships to figure out and with emotions involved, this can become complicated. Whether you are parenting as a neurodivergent person or parenting a child who is, I can support you with a desire for more self-awareness, facing a difficulty or needing a space to share and reflect. Everyone should be able to have the space that they need, don't hesitate to ask about my lower cost rates.

Hi, I’m Daniela, a therapist with 10 years of experience helping individuals and couples build more fulfilling and joyful lives together. Having grown up in a high-conflict environment, I understand firsthand the desire for better communication and connection without constant arguments. My journey led me to train at Tavistock as a systemic practitioner, where I learned that true change happens when we look at relationships holistically—acknowledging the patterns that keep us stuck and the dynamics that shape our lives. Let’s work together to strengthen your relationship, improve communication, and create lasting, positive change.

As an AuDHD (autistic and ADHD) person, I know what it's like to feel different in the world. I am open about being a neurodivergent practitioner and find that people often reach out because of this openness. I offer a space where difference is not only accepted but valued, where you can explore who you are without judgment. I believe that mental health is not just about diagnosis or labels, but about how we relate to ourselves, others, and the world around us. So, whether you're navigating anxiety, low mood, burnout, identity questions, or feeling overwhelmed, therapy can offer a space to slow down, reflect, and reconnect.

Hi, I'm Duncan, a UKCP accredited psychotherapist. Life can get heavy sometimes. Old patterns, big feelings, difficult relationships. It can all build up, often quietly, until it's too much to manage alone. I help people understand what might really be happening underneath the surface, and find a steadier way forward. No judgement, no jargon, just space to figure things out at your own pace.

How does art therapy work?
The process of making art allows people to express themselves. Art-making can take many forms, such as painting, collage, or sculpting. The therapist asks questions that the work elicits, such as how the person felt while creating their piece, or if any memories surfaced that they can discuss. The therapist will then work with the patient to process their experience, understand themselves better, and work toward change.

Does art therapy help with trauma?
Art therapy can be a valuable treatment option for those suffering from trauma. Traumatic experiences such as combat, rape, or childhood abuse can be so painful that articulating them can be too scary or painful; creating art allows people to express themselves without words, and tell their story in a different way. The physical nature of creating art can also help people feel rooted in the body, which may benefit those who feel disconnected from their body in the aftermath of trauma.

How long does art therapy last?
The duration of art therapy varies, but a common length for treatment is 10 to 15 weekly sessions. Some people may see improvement in just a few weeks, while others may choose to remain in therapy longer term. Patients should periodically discuss their goals with their therapist to make sure the two are aligned on process and progress.

What are the limitations of art therapy?
Art therapy is helpful for many people, but a limitation is that it doesn’t have as robust an evidence base as other forms of therapy, such as cognitive behavioural therapy or acceptance and commitment therapy. The evidence on art therapy is mixed; some research demonstrates its benefits, while other research suggests that it has little impact on patients.
