I’m a cognitive behavioural psychotherapist supporting people aged 14+ to build self-esteem and navigate life with ADHD.
Therapy is a partnership — a space to explore life’s challenges, openly and honestly. Therapy is centred on you and its where important changes can begin. We’ll bring curiosity to your thoughts, feelings and behaviours — and how certain patterns may be keeping you stuck. From there, we’ll work towards lasting changes with more clarity and confidence.

In life’s journey we experience many ups and downs with issues we find difficult to cope with. To have someone there who’s warm, supportive and non judgemental can help to make that journey a little easier. To be heard and understood can aid in the process of understanding our inner feelings and emotions and help us to find successful ways of managing the difficulties that life throws at us. I can offer a safe and confidential place for you to share, explore and work through those difficulties which may be causing you distress.

Perhaps you feel overwhelmed by your emotions, misunderstood by others, or exhausted from constantly holding things together internally. You may struggle with anxiety, relationship difficulties, rejection sensitivity, masking, burnout, or a sense that you don’t fully belong. Perhaps words feel difficult sometimes, or you find yourself deeply feeling things that others seem able to brush aside. Therapy offers a space where you can begin to understand yourself more deeply, feel genuinely seen, and gently unfurl into greater self-acceptance and freedom.

Therapy can be hard. I get it; I've been there, but it doesn't have to be. I work collaboratively, so you don’t have to know what to do, or what to say. We’ll work through whatever you’re facing, at your pace. I’ve been on both sides of the counselling room, so I know how tough it can be just getting started, but I believe by working collaboratively, you can get what you need from therapy. You don’t have to have all the answers, you just have to turn up, and be willing to talk things through. I want to get to know you, and understand your story, to figure out how I can help you work through whatever you’re dealing with.

I have a heart for those who haven't felt heard or understood and I will treat what you share with the utmost care. I can offer you compassion where maybe you feel you haven't received it before, or maybe you feel like you don't deserve it because that internal voice tells you you are not good enough. I can help you discover the roots of that voice, weakening its influence over you and allowing you to build a new voice that is encouraging and supportive. Everyone deserves to have their voice heard, what you think and how you feel really is important to me.

I work with people who have experienced trauma, including sexual or domestic abuse, and those who feel misunderstood or out of place, particularly neurodivergent clients ( ADHD/autism).
You don’t need to have the “right words” or know where to start. We’ll go at your pace, in a space where you can begin to make sense of things without pressure or judgement. Clients often come to me feeling overwhelmed or stuck, and over time begin to feel calmer, more grounded, and more in control.

Often the beginning of therapy is the sharing of stories, about life and life experience. I listen exceptionally carefully to this, to help you use the space to begin to make sense of what has happened and how you want to view what has happened. Most client appreciate being listened to, although this can take time to feel okay. Also in those first few sessions client value the sense of containment and safety I offer, as the work progresses this sense of safety is often what helps us to feel safe to explore difference and what that might mean for our relationships.

Therapy is time set aside by you and the therapist to look at what has brought you to therapy. This might include talking about life events (past and present), feelings, emotions, relationships, ways of thinking and patterns of behaviour. Resilience isn’t about never falling over. It’s about knowing what do to when we do fall over and how we get back up again. I won’t judge you or criticise you.  I work with the uniqueness of each individual client and endeavour to offer a relationship in which you feel heard, accepted, safe and valued.  And collaboratively we will work to make positive changes in your life.

So let me make that first step a little easier by telling you a bit about who I am and how I work: I’m a Clinical Psychologist with over a decade of experience supporting individuals, children, and families across a wide range of mental health settings. My approach is grounded in compassion, curiosity, and collaboration. I work with people navigating challenges such as anxiety (including social anxiety, OCD, and phobias), low self-esteem, depression, anger, school refusal, and relationship or attachment difficulties.

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?
You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.

How does treatment for ADHD work?
Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioural therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.

How long does treatment for ADHD take?
It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
