Perhaps anxiety, stress, ADHD, neurodivergence, or past experiences are making life feel heavier than it should.
I work with anxiety, stress, depression, trauma and PTSD, and have particular experience supporting neurodivergent clients, including ADHD, and their families. My integrative, trauma-informed work may include EMDR to help process difficult experiences and reduce their impact, supporting greater clarity and emotional stability.

My focus will be on helping you understand the function they have served for you, where they come from, and how to bring about change I have experience of working with individuals who present with diagnoses such as ADHD, autism, with one or more of the many different personality disorder, and with individuals who experience psychotic states of mind.
Most people who seek counselling and psychotherapy do not come with a diagnosis; they come because they are struggling with what’s going on in their life and/or what’s going on in their mind, and they are looking for change.

I enjoy working with adults and children who have experienced trauma, often rooted in childhood or attachment difficulties, and who feel its impact in their body, emotions or relationships. Many live with anxiety, emotional overwhelm, numbness or a constant sense of being on edge, and have found that talking alone has not fully helped. I am drawn to clients who want trauma therapy that feels safe, contained and effective. They may struggle to put experiences into words and are open to creative, body-based approaches, including EMDR. I enjoy supporting people ready for change who want to feel calmer, more grounded and freer in life

I am an Integrative therapist which means I use various therapies and tailor the therapy to your needs, as we all are individuals and I feel an indIvidual approach offers the bespoke service clients require. Some people may respond well to CBT or DBT, others prefer a more Humanistic approach. The Psychodynamic approach works well when looking into our core thoughts and TA works wonders with communication. I work collaboratively with the client to get the best results for you.

We all experience challenges to our emotional wellbeing at times, it may be in response to work stress, becoming a parent, developing a long-term heath condition, entering perimenopause, or a multitude of other life experiences. This can be hugely destabilising, and it can feel hard to get support as it can often look to the external world that we are coping or that we have it all. I create a space to explore these experiences, help clients feel grounded, and working together we navigate the path towards their future self.

If you are thinking of starting a therapy you may be willing to deal with painful issues that can manifest in various shapes and intensity and have an impact on the day-to-day life; such issues are personal and linked both to personality and life events. A disturb can express in different ways and symptoms, like panic attacks, Depression, psychosomatic symptoms, Anxiety etc. Other times there is rather a generic feeling of discomfort that needs to be defined and addressed.

Seeking therapy and finding the right counsellor can sometimes feel daunting — so well done for taking this important first step. Beginning counselling is a courageous act of self-care, and I aim to make the process as safe, supportive, and collaborative as possible. As a Counsellor with lived experience of mental health challenges, I understand how it feels to be vulnerable, uncertain, or “stuck.” My goal is to provide a warm, compassionate, and confidential space where you can explore what’s happening in your life without fear of judgment.

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?
You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.

How does treatment for ADHD work?
Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioural therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.

How long does treatment for ADHD take?
It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
