Life is full of events, relationships, stresses and strains and all these impact on us in many different ways. It can affect all the important things to us such as school, work, relationships and our own perception of ourselves. This can be tiring and overwhelming. Fortunately, it doesn’t have to be this way and I believe strongly that a person can benefit from having a space to discuss their feelings and develop ideas and strategies to improve their emotional wellbeing.

Hi, I'm Craig, a psychotherapist. I currently have a little availability for therapy with individuals. I provide down-to-earth, professional therapy and have worked with people from all walks of life, in both private practice and charity settings. You may have a specific issue affecting your life, or a vague sense of not feeling right, but want to understand yourself more deeply. I most often work medium-long term with people towards deeper change.

Having the support of a family member or friend can be invaluable but sometimes we may limit what we say to them for fear of being judged or worrying about over-burdening them. Having someone impartial to talk to without these barriers can therefore be extremely helpful. My take on counselling is pretty straightforward. It’s about providing a safe space for you to talk about anything you feel is troubling you or holding you back from moving forward. A space in which you can explore thoughts and feelings, try and make sense of what’s going on and find some tools and answers to make some positive steps.

We all have mental health and just like our physical health can sometimes need help, so does our mental health. Our thoughts, feelings and emotions can feel over whelming and too much sometimes. Starting a therapeutic journey and having someone to talk to can help lessen the over whelm and support you through your challenging times. Therapy gives you a space to talk about whatever you want with no judgement. My role is not giving advice or problem-solving, but to sit beside you on your journey as we explore your thoughts and feelings.

I wish for you to feel safe and heard, to feel supported whilst working toward a more confident, independent self. I believe therapy is for anyone and anything, a tool for working towards a more confident, self-managing you. Many of us experience moments of low moods, stress or anxiety in our lives. As humans were no strangers to emotional or psychological challenges caused by problems with school or work, concerns relating to relationships, or even grief brought on by loss in its many forms.

There is no one 'right' way or 'real' reason to start therapy - I can help you engage with what is essential to and for you, with no expectations of what that might be. Seeking a therapist is a step toward finding a safe and supportive relationship for your thoughts and feelings. Some people approach therapy with a specific issue to explore and work on, it is not unusual to feel that there are multiple issues to address. Others think it isn't clear why they want to begin creating a space for them to work out what they want and need. Wherever a client is, I will meet them where they need me to be.

It can be really tough to actually talk about what is going on for you. Sometimes we feel shame or fear at the prospect of sharing these feelings. Sometimes there just aren't words for those feelings. I offer a space in which whatever you wish to talk about is fine. I am not easily shocked! Our time spent together will involve creating a safe space in which you can explore whatever it is that you want or need. I like to hold a space where I embrace that everybody is unique and that nobody is "perfect." I also understand the drive to achieve that perfection and how difficult it can be balancing the two.

I have been practising and studying holistic therapies for many years, which has lead me to becoming a qualified Person-Centred, CBT Counsellor. Working with different groups such as Cruse, Coping with Cancer, and Bower House. With many different types of counselling it can be confusing for those seeking therapy. Person-Centred Counselling, means this journey is all about YOU, the client, your issues, struggles, goals and what you want to change. It is truly humbling to be able to support you on your journey, and to offer a confidential, calm, safe, space in which to take those initial apprehensive steps.

If you are reading this I wonder if life feels difficult at the moment. Perhaps you are feeling anxious, depressed, living with the distress of uncertainty? Finding it difficult to let go of control, of perfectionism, feeling vulnerable or struggling with living in a ‘never enough’ world? Is this having a negative effect on your relationships, or are you struggling to understand traumatic events in your past, and you can no longer soldier on as before? However you may be feeling, it can feel really scary to come and talk to a counsellor. But I respect your courage to reach out, and I will listen to you with warmth and empathy.

I am an Integrative counsellor and psychotherapist working with couples and individuals. I draw from a range of different ways of working that fits your needs, including EMDR if you're experiencing PTSD. It can feel daunting approaching someone to talk to about the problems you are experiencing. At some point in our lives we all experience distressing events, difficult feelings or relationships and a little support at those times can go a long way. Whatever you’re experiencing, you don’t have to face it alone.

How we are with ourselves matters. At the core of my counselling work is you. Does trauma, grief or anxiety steer you away from where you are or what you are striving towards? I understand sharing these experiences can be overwhelming and uncomfortable. In a confidential and calm space, I will support you through your thoughts and emotions. At your pace, we will understand and reflect on past and present experiences, inviting compassionate inner dialogue, coping strategies, and movement away from shame and criticism. I will not judge you.

Have you ever wished you could say how you really felt, and that someone would take the time to listen to you? Perhaps you have kept your thoughts and feelings to yourself through fear of being put down, judged, or laughed at? Or maybe you put your problems aside because you feel the other person is more important? Counselling is the opportunity to sort your thoughts; gives you time to work out what you really feel, the space to consider your options, and decide what you feel is best for you. People come for different reasons, but all wish the same outcomes; to be heard, be understood, feel better and find ways to enjoy their life.

I'm Jamie, an accredited Counsellor and Hypnotherapist. I understand not everyone has the tools to cope when life gets heavy — feeling anxious, burnt out, stuck in their heads, or struggling with confidence. Some are dealing with past experiences that still affect them, while others just want to feel more in control of their lives.
