I am very much committed to helping my clients be the best version of themselves and believe that everyone has arrived at the version of themselves they are today because of what they’ve been through. That means there are always understandable reasons why someone is having a tough time or struggling with something, no matter what that difficulty might be. Because of that belief, I am far more likely to ask what has happened to you, versus what is wrong with you - even if you have a diagnosis. You might already have a clear goal, or you could be reading this wondering where on earth to start. Either way, I’m glad you made it here!

Hi there, I’m Emily. I’m a qualified integrative counsellor and a Registered Member of the BACP (British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists). Counselling means different things to different people. For some, it helps them make sense of current challenges, which could be in their relationships, at work, or due to unexpected events that have knocked them off their feet For others, it’s a safe place to explore past events, vulnerabilities, or traumas that shape the way they live, and which create patterns of behaviour that they want to move on from.

Good mental health is not simply the absence of psychological problems. It is about thinking, acting and feeling in ways that enable you to live joyfully, overcome challenges and flourish. Choices when selecting a professional can be overwhelming. Looking at the lists of therapists and reading about different therapies that you cannot really understand might be frustrating. Whether you are feeling stressed or depressed, you are facing a crisis point in your life or trying to find meaning, or if you simply cannot go on as you have been, I can help you to look at things differently and find your own new way of being.

If you’re reading this I guess you want to know a little about who I am and whether therapy would be good for you. In which case, hello – nice to meet you! I think I can help people with just the right kind of safe, non-judgemental environment that allows us to understand and work through issues. I work with clients face to face, or remotely by phone or Zoom, using a range of exercises and techniques that I have personally developed to help release tension and improve life. With a bit of work, you can end therapy feeling more secure in yourself and free from all that stuff which has stopped you from being the real you.

Hello, I’m Ravi, and thank you for visiting my page. I approach my work with a deeply personal perspective. Having experienced therapy myself, I understand what it feels like to be in the client’s chair—vulnerable, uncertain, anxious, and hopeful all at once. This experience has shaped my practice, allowing me to offer empathy, authenticity, a safe therapeutic space, and a sincere respect for each individual’s journey. Together, we’ll explore what has happened or is happening in your life, make sense of your thoughts and emotions, and work towards meaningful change that supports your mental and emotional well-being.

If you are struggling with anxiety, low self-esteem, depression or family issues. If close relationships have got into difficulties or bereavement has knocked you sideways, maybe even years after the event. If a recent or past traumatic event has had a huge impact. If you are generally struggling with your emotional wellbeing, then counselling can be of immense help to you. You can build confidence, self esteem and become the person you were always meant to be.

During our lives we encounter loss including bereavement, separation, ill health and relationship or transitional difficulties. All of these external factors can and will affect how we relate to others, the world around us and most importantly ourselves. This may include withdrawing, substance use or abuse, unhealthy eating patterns and other self harmful behaviours. Our work together will be to focus on these changes and how you can develop and cultivate a positive relationship with yourself, and others. I have supported many people who experience overwhelming symptoms of trauma, low self-esteem, anxiety and depression.

If you're tired of living in survival mode, my work helps clients to move to a greater sense of clarity and gain tools to self-regulate and navigate life with confidence. If there is one thing we suffer from the most, it is a lack of resilience to navigate the "downs" of life, with faith in our capacity to grow even through the hard times. Whether you are stuck in a cycle of anxiety, struggling to resolve relationship challenges, or weighed down by unresolved trauma, our therapy journey is built on a foundation of safety to enable you to reassure your inner child and meet yourself with the compassion required to heal.

Infidelity Counsellors

How does therapy for infidelity work?

A skilled infidelity therapist will provide a safe space for clients to communicate their feelings and concerns. The goal is to be completely honest about what led to the cheating and how it has affected the entire family to prevent it from recurring in the future. The therapist will help the clients work on rebuilding mutual trust and respect and developing better communication and conflict-resolution skills. If the goal is to remain a couple, clients will learn the “danger signs” for their specific relationship, and they will make a renewed commitment to be faithful.

How long does therapy for infidelity take?

Recovery from infidelity can take time, and it can vary from person to person. Generally, a therapist will want to see the clients at least once a week for around six months. Then the sessions can be arranged as needed, depending on the clients’ individual needs. While therapy may end or shift to an as-needed basis, it can take up to two years or more for some clients to fully recover from infidelity.

How does therapy help the partner who was cheated on?

When a client discovers their partner’s infidelity, their trust in the relationship and in the life they had together may be shattered. They often experience mental health symptoms, such as anxiety, depression, grief, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). They don’t always want to stay in the relationship; they may feel ambivalent or may even want to leave. Therapy gives these clients a safe and healthy way to communicate all of their complicated emotions and concerns.

How does therapy help the partner who committed infidelity?

Infidelity often occurs when one or both partners’ emotional needs are not being met in the relationship. Therapy can help this client understand why they cheated and figure out how to address those unmet needs without resorting to infidelity in the future. This can lessen (but not entirely eliminate) the risk of repeated infidelity. Clients who cheat may also feel intense guilt about deceiving their partners, a sentiment that they can work through in therapy.
