If you are looking for couples therapy, or if you are seeking individual counselling with a focus on relationships (whether intimate, work or family) I can potentially help. I trained to MA level at a leading centre for relationship therapy, and I'm one of very few men working in the field. When working with couples, my aim is to enable better conversations, build understanding, so that both partners can be more content. With individuals, it's often about having a conversation with yourself, and to consider how you are in relation to others.

I work with a range of issues including: anxiety, addiction, depression, chemsex, gender identity, gender dysphoria and transitioning, pain and chronic illness, psychosexual issues, sexuality and sexual identity, suicidality and self-harm.
I’m interested in what works. For you. So I take a pluralistic, integrative approach and don’t limit myself to one particular way of working. Whether you’re seeing me for counselling, schema-based therapy or psychosexual therapy, I'll tailor my approach to suit your needs. And it’s the relationship between you and I which will be central to the work. Because I’m not a friend, colleague or family member, you can think the unthinkable and speak the unspeakable in a judgement-free space. You can rely on me to be honest with you, and bring into your awareness your blind spots, and things on the edge of your awareness you might missing.

Do you struggle with ADHD, Addiction or Trauma? Have you tried ways of managing any of these aspects and felt that its not working, not sustainable or just to painful? Maybe you dont know where to start or really what the problem is. Therapy or coaching is a great place to start your journey and make sense of how you feel, what you would like to achieve and what this may look like. Sometimes life can feel complicated and feeling heard and making sense of why you may be feeling like you do can be a great starting place.

Intimacy and connection are among the most powerful sources of energy we have - they don’t just sustain relationships, they awaken our zest for life and infuse everyday moments with vitality and meaning. My work focuses on helping individuals and couples understand and harness this energy through the psychology of desire, motivation, and connection. I work both with couples who experience loss of libido, mismatched desire, or the aftermath of infidelity and with those who are in a good, stable relationship and want more. More depth, more excitement, more aliveness.

Who is sex therapy for?

Sex problems are common in relationships. Many people want a better sex life and want to feel loved and desired by their partner. It is difficult for couples to resolve sexual problems on their own because people often feel ashamed to talk about their sexual desires fearing they are not normal, when in fact a very broad range of preferences and behaviors are normal. A sex therapist can help clarify this and other matters.

Why do people need sex therapy?

Many people do not know how to talk about their erotic needs or their emotional needs, both of which are addressed in sex therapy. Couples often live with sexual difficulties for years before seeking help, and in that time, partners may experience so much disappointment and alienation that they may fear their problems mean they are incompatible. Once people experience disappointment, it is difficult to find resolution without help.

What happens in sex therapy?

People have many misconceptions about what takes place in sex therapy. First, it is a form of talk therapy in which partners discuss their sexual concerns; it does not involve touching or physical exploration of any kind. Sex therapy typically helps couples get comfortable talking to each other about sex so that, in the privacy of their home life, they can openly discuss their sexual desires and make decisions about what they want to do. Couples are typically assigned activities to do at home that build intimacy skills.

What kinds of problems do sex therapists treat?

Very often, partners differ in their degree of sexual desire and struggle over how often to have sex. Or they may have fights about porn use or have difficulty connecting sexually after one partner is unfaithful. Men may have problems with premature ejaculation. Women may find themselves struggling to become aroused or to achieve an orgasm. Sometimes partners feel like they have lost the sense of attraction to their partner. These are all common issues dealt with in sex therapy.
