Hi there, I'm Jo and I support clients with a wide variety of presenting difficulties. Working together to build a trusting relationship we can explore any difficulties you are currently experiencing. I specialise in how attachment and how our lived experience often shape our thoughts and feelings in the here and now. Helping clients on their journey to re-align what it is they want and need both from themselves and others around them. The power of compassion is of utmost importance to my practice and I hope to be able to work on internal systems such as self esteem and self valuation.

I specialise in helping people with OCD, anxiety, and ADHD using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) and Inference-Based CBT (I-CBT).
Do you ever feel caught in endless loops of overthinking or intrusive thoughts that feel too intense to ignore? Maybe you find yourself replaying conversations, double-checking decisions, or searching for certainty that never comes. OCD can make you question everything, convincing you that your thoughts say something terrible about who you are. It’s exhausting, you end up living in your head instead of your life. Working with me means having a calm, non-judgmental space where you can learn skills to quiet anxiety, loosen OCD’s grip, and move toward the life you want.

I specialise in helping people who struggle with: Neurodivergence and ADHD (masking, overwhelm, emotional reg etc) Trauma and difficult relationships (including narcissistic dynamics, low self-esteem, people-pleasing) Anxiety, depression, and chronic self-criticism My approach blends somatic therapy, trauma-informed practice , and relational work.
Do you ever feel trapped in your own head, criticised, disconnected, or on high alert? that you’re pretending, failing, or just “wrong”? Maybe you’ve spent years people-pleasing, holding in anger, or carrying shame that was never yours to begin with. Perhaps you’re exhausted from replaying old patterns, yet no matter what you try, they don’t seem to shift. Therapy with me is a chance to stop circling in self-doubt and start discovering who you are beneath it all. Together, we can work to loosen the grip of perfectionism, self-hatred, or fear, and help you move toward a life that feels more grounded, connected, and yours.

I am a qualified ADHD and Autism assessor, and one of my areas of focus is working with people who have those conditions.
The terminology of therapy is often confusing, but the way I work means that: although whatever has brought you to therapy is manifesting itself in your day to day life, behaviours, thoughts and feelings, I believe that it's roots could be in your past, possibly as far back as early childhood. Perhaps you are feeling anxious, or are experiencing low mood. Maybe you have experienced a trauma, or are dealing with a lot of stress. You might have suffered a loss, or simply feel that something isn't quite right, and that you need some help and support.

As an ex-lawyer I have personally experienced stress related burnout, work-place trauma, major depression, anxiety, grief, and adult diagnosis of ADD neurodiversity.
Are you stuck, finding life hard to manage or struggling with neurodiversity? Work with me to reconnect with your authentic self, the things that bring you joy and not get stuck on automatic pilot, playing parts that don't work any longer. You don't need to be unwell to benefit from psychosynthesis or mindfulness, although most people come to therapy when something gets stuck or unworkable in their lives. Whatever your reason to seek help, I believe in reconnecting you with what makes your heart sing.

People make the choice to start therapy for many reasons: maybe you’ve experienced a loss, are finding it hard to feel in control of your life, or want to better understand who you are. I’ll work with you to build a relationship in which you can learn about how you are in the world and examine patterns and ideas from the past that might need updating for where you find yourself now.

I also provide ADHD therapy and can provide ADHD coaching.
Deciding to attend therapy is a difficult decision. It is important that you find a therapist with whom you can feel comfortable, I aim to provide you with that experience. I believe there is no position or age from which positive change cannot be made and will support you in the process. Alternatively, if you have a goal that you wish to achieve, either personally or professionally, it is vital you find someone who can bring energy, enthusiasm and pragmatism to your sessions. I also have experience in the corporate space and provide seminars on a number of issues and coaching for groups.

Also, I work with anxiety, depression, trauma, addictions, personality disorders, ADHD and neurodivergence.

Throughout my own journey, I have experienced many of the aforementioned conditions, which have led me to this career path. I offer individual private counselling sessions online for those over the age of 18. I have found my niche is working with trauma and relationships, often working with individuals who are neurodiverse and LGBTQIA+ due to my own ADHD diagnosis and non-binary identity.
Flexible - we can work with a structure or see session-by-session with regular check ins. Authentic - I don't hide behind a professional facade, to allow us to develop a therapeutic bond. Supporting you to develop agency - my purpose is to help you to listen to yourself so you are developing coping mechanisms you can use to thrive outside of therapy.

I work with mainly adults who are curious about whether they might be neurodivergent, are considering an assessment, or have been diagnosed, whether recently or many years ago. I also work with neurotypical and neurodiverse women who are navigating life transitions such as relationships, pregnancy, menopause, health issues or considering their own needs. Alongside therapy, I advise film & TV productions on contributor wellbeing, duty of care and risk assessment. Therapy can be short term, focusing on specific goals, or longer term, exploring what matters most to you and how life might look different in the future.

Imagine waking up feeling refreshed, with a clear mind and a sense of purpose. Picture yourself navigating relationships with calm and confidence, living a life where you're not just coping, but thriving. Does this feel out of reach? It doesn’t have to be. Perhaps you lie awake at night, your mind racing with anxious thoughts. Or feel trapped in a relationship that brings more pain than joy. Or dream of writing that book or making art, yet find yourself procrastinating. Or feel unsure of your next steps, longing for a life that feels more fully your own.

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?
You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.

How does treatment for ADHD work?
Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioural therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.

How long does treatment for ADHD take?
It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
