I believe that we all need a safe space to talk about what we are going through at particular points in our lives. I help people strive to make sense of often complex issues because developing our self-awareness empowers us towards acceptance and change. I am passionate about connecting with others through therapeutic relationships in order to collaboratively address difficulties and achieve goals.

Hi, I'm Neil. I appreciate that life can sometimes feel difficult, stressful and overwhelming. Many of us struggle with relationships, responsibilities and the pressures of balancing our work and home lives. Sometimes you may feel anxious or depressed without understanding the reason why, or have experienced an event that you're struggling to work through. Maybe you just feel flat or unmotivated, or perhaps you're finding life hard to face after losing someone close to you. If any of this resonates with how you feel, I can help you.

I specialise in men's issues, identity and LGBTQ+ affirmative counselling.
Exploring the complex parts of our own experiences can feel overwhelming, but it's also a powerful step toward understanding and processing. In our work together, we'll take the time to gently uncover the roots of pain, allowing space for insight and compassion. If this sounds like a route you would like to take, please feel free to get in touch.

Taking the first step towards counselling can feel daunting, especially if you’re used to coping on your own. You may be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, struggling in relationships, or simply finding life more difficult than usual. Whatever has brought you here, you’re welcome exactly as you are. At the heart of my work is the belief that everyone deserves a space where they can talk openly and honestly without fear of judgement. Together we can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences at your own pace. Many people come to counselling worried about being judged or misunderstood; with me, you will be heard and accepted.

I specialise in supporting adults with ADHD traits, emotional overwhelm, perfectionism, shame, and masking. Using Internal Family Systems (IFS), I offer a gentle, affirming space for sensitive and ND clients. -You struggle to concentrate, especially at work -You find it hard to be assertive, and avoid conflict at all costs -You don't feel like you can be yourself in front of work colleagues and family members -You constantly replay past conversations in your head You’ve probably tried other methods of healing, and take better care of yourself than you did in your 20’s…but something still feels like it’s missing.

When you're used to being the one who carries the weight, solves the problems, and just keeps moving forward, admitting that you've hit a wall isn't easy. You might be navigating intense pressure at work, facing a relationship crisis or infidelity, or simply realising that your usual strategies for managing stress and anxiety aren't cutting it anymore. It’s common to deal with this by shutting down or trying to white-knuckle through it alone. I provide a straightforward, down-to-earth environment where you don't have to filter what's going on, and where we can look practically at what's keeping you stuck.

You feel different, and you have for a long time. You have carried silence, or shame, or questions that never quite let go. Many of the people I work with are queer, neurodiverse, or moving through change that feels heavier than they let on. Together we step outside the box of just talking. We cannot always think our way out of what hurts, we have to feel it, move with it, and live our way into something new. I work online, wherever you are in the UK. If you are ready for a space that welcomes the whole of you, I offer a free 15 minute consultation. As Tagore wrote, the butterfly counts not months but moments, and has time enough.

Are you finding yourself in midlife feeling stressed, anxious or depressed? Then you’re not alone. Midlife brings with it many issues for both men & women: work stresses, worries about children, elderly parents, relationship problems, questions about your role in life, and a depressing feeling that you’re no longer yourself, unable to cope as well as you once did. Pressures & losses of this time can be hard to deal with. I know, I’ve been there too. If you're struggling and need support, or maybe you just need someone to talk to who understands, I’m here to help. I work with both men and women to overcome the chaos that is midlife.

I know it can be overwhelming to sift through all these profiles, so I’ll keep it simple. I'm a qualified therapist with 12 years of full-time experience. I'm a friendly, down-to-earth bloke with a good sense of humour, and I've gained (a bit of) the wisdom that comes with age and experience. My goal is to understand and support you, but I'll also challenge you to break free from whatever is holding you back when needed. I have a proven track record of helping people reduce distress, understand themselves better, and navigate life more effectively.

I work with people from all walks of life, with a particular interest in supporting men - who are far less likely to seek support and far more likely to need it. Clients often come to me feeling low, anxious, stuck, or short-tempered, sometimes without knowing why. Others are dealing with stress, burnout, grief, relationship difficulties, or past experiences still affecting the present. There's no threshold you need to meet. I work in a person-centred way: no scripts, no homework, no being told what your problem is. I listen properly, ask questions, and help you hear yourself more clearly so you can move forward in your own way.

If you're dealing with porn, compulsive sex, or a relapse cycle you can't break, you're in the right place. The pattern keeps coming back because the root has never been touched. Willpower fights the behaviour. My work goes to the source. Six years working with men 1:1 on this. I've been through it myself and know what it takes to close it for good. The anxiety, the stress, the emptiness underneath. That is what drives it. Each session we work through your specific triggers using Mind Shifting, clearing what sits beneath each one before moving to the next. You leave each session feeling the difference, not hoping something shifted.

My clients are adults, young people and children carrying something they haven't been able to put down — anxiety that won't quieten, grief that hasn't had space, trauma that still shapes the present, or simply a feeling that something needs to change. They come with depression, low mood, confidence issues, anger, addiction, pregnancy and infant loss, and the particular pressures men face but rarely talk about. They come from Anfield, Kirkdale, Everton, Bootle, Liverpool and across the UK online. Many have never spoken to a counsellor before. Some don't know exactly what's wrong — only that they're not okay. That's enough to start.

I work with individuals who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or struggling to make sense of what they’re experiencing. This might relate to anxiety, low mood, trauma, loss, or major life changes, or a more general sense that something doesn’t feel right. Therapy offers a space to slow things down, explore what’s been difficult, and begin to understand yourself with greater clarity and compassion, at a pace that feels manageable and supportive. Alongside my broader work, I have a focus on men’s mental health, providing a confidential and understanding space where men can explore their emotions, past experiences, and pressures faced in life.

Is therapy for men different than it is for women?
Therapeutic treatments and types are the same for men as they are for women, with the same protocols followed and the same strategies employed. Discussing one’s feelings and emotions is an integral part of most therapies, and some men find doing so more challenging. Therapists can help clients through the process; some specialize in treating men for this reason.

How do you encourage a man to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either himself or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.

How can men prepare for therapy?
Men can prepare for therapy by approaching the process with an open mind, being willing to talk about their challenges, and giving treatment the time to work. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. It can be useful for men who struggle to recall their emotional states to write down notes between sessions about their response to a given event or how they were feeling at a particular time.

What should men know about the process of therapy?
One of the most common reasons men don’t seek therapy is the notion that there’s something wrong with them if they do. Men should know that just because they’re seeking therapy doesn’t mean they’re mentally ill or damaged in some way. In the same way people work on their bodies through exercise or a craft through practice, therapy can be a way to improve the mental and emotional skills needed to be productive and effective partners, employees, and people in all realms of life.
