I work with children and teenagers, using play, art, and talking therapy to help them express and understand their feelings.
I work with children facing anxiety, low mood, school struggles, self-harm, and emotions they can’t always explain. I have supporter families through divorce, illness, bereavement, and trauma—including abuse and sudden loss. Using play, creativity, and talking therapy, I create a safe space for children to make sense of their experiences.

I have more than 2000 hours of experience in providing short and long-term therapy for children, young people and their families (age range 6-25 years).
In therapy I aim to build a positive therapeutic relationship founded upon understanding and appreciation for the individual person and their circumstances. My name is Tom. I’m an experienced counsellor and psychotherapist with experience working across the country in schools, the NHS, young offenders units, and charities. I specialise in working with young people, who have experienced difficult or traumatic family circumstances such as addiction, domestic violence, or emotional abuse. For some, this means finding a way through overwhelming feelings. for others, it’s about making sense of what they’ve been through once life has become more stable. My role is to provide a safe and steady space at any stage — helping young people to cope, process, and move forward.

I have substantial experience working with children and young people of all ages and their parents.
I offer interventions ranging from one-off assessments and consultations, to time-limited therapy and long-term psychotherapy. I would first encourage a brief, free telephone consultation to discuss the presenting problems, to answer any questions a parent or young person may have, and to consider arranging a meeting.

Taking a step toward healing, for yourself or your child, is a deeply courageous choice.
I integrate traditional psychotherapy with creative methods, relational and transpersonal perspectives, and somatic practices, weaving in cutting-edge interventions such as Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family System (IFS)-informed therapy, and Transforming Touch(R) —a profoundly gentle yet powerful form of touch therapy.

I am a highly experienced Child Psychotherapist.
I use various ways of working with children and young people. Play, art, drama, music, sand tray & talking offer a variety of ways of expressing thoughts, worries, feelings and of working with them. I also work with parents and carers. Sometimes, a one or two session consultation can be effective in helping parents/carers explore solutions.

I have been a counsellor since 2012, both in private practise and working for the YPC, Brighton, AGE UK and the YMCA/Wellbeing Service. As a humanistic/intergative therapist, I believe that you are the expert on yourself and I aim to provide the conditions which allow you to explore your motivations and themes, and make meaning from your own experience. I offer an empathic, non judgemental and respectful space. By building a relationship based on acceptance it becomes possible to look at, recognise and understand where problems in your life may have arisen. Counselling can be for anyone who feels lost, sad, lonely, confused.

I work with adults, teenagers and children and my approach is to create a safe environment where the people I meet feel heard and understood.
Welcome! In life we are sometimes given challenges that can leave us feeling stuck, anxious or isolated. If we are lucky, we have support around us to help give us clarity and hope that things will change. However, not all of us have this or, if we do, we may need a person outside our circle to really sit with us, hear our experiences and offer their own unique understanding of where we are now and what we need to become unstuck, less anxious and less alone. I have over ten years experience of doing this using talking therapy, creativity and solution focused therapy depending on each person's individual need and experiences.

Hello My name is Clara and I am a humanistic counsellor I offer therapy face to face and online. In English & Spanish. Life as we know can be full of challenges. Sometimes things feel somewhat too difficult to just keep carrying on, at these times when carrying on, at these times when depression, fears, anxiety, lack of meaning and motivation are too big and overwhelming, therapy can feel like a sanctuary. A safe place to start making sense of it all, to feel supported, seen, heard and understood. The therapeutic relationship is such a powerful and healing gift to ourselves

I have MA in Dance Movement Psychotherapy (ADMPUK) and 10 years of clinical experience, where over 6 years Arts/ Playtherapist experience with children.
Do you sometimes feel limited by words? Dance Movement Psychotherapy (DMP) offers an alternative to talking therapies. As our bodies hold the unconscious aspects of ourselves, movement-based therapy can be particularly effective in addressing feelings held somatically in the body. Dance Movement Psychotherapists believe that changes in the body & movement patterns are reflected in the mind & thinking patterns and vice versa. DMP can help you feel more attuned to your body, support emotional regulation, reduce stress, improve confidence, and help to form a stronger sense of Self.

I am a psychodynamic child and adolescent psychotherapist with extensive experience working with children and young people.
I place the therapeutic relationship at the heart of emotional change and supports young people in making sense of their inner world through a consistent, confidential, and trusting relationship. I work relationally, recognising that, alongside talking, distress can be expressed in a non-directive way through behaviour, play, or physical symptoms.

I work with children, teenagers and adults and can run sessions in English or Polish, online or in person (in Hove) or we can mix it up.
My expertise is in neurodivergence and gender, sexuality and relationship diversity but I also enjoy working with adults + children, young people and teenagers who are not those things. I was raised catholic but left the church when I was a teenager to pursue a more authentic experience. I know the feeling of not belonging - happy to support you too.

If you've got problems, I can help.. As a therapist I am happiest when I am genuinely able to make a difference to someone and help them feel better. I have had a great deal of experience of working with many different people, each one of them with their own unique story, and their own way of seeing the world, each one of them also with the problems that sometimes arise for all of us as human beings trying to live the best we can. Maybe you feel anxious and don't know why? Perhaps you've had things happen that are still affecting you?

Do I need to attend therapy with my child?
Parents are an integral part of a child’s therapy, but the specifics of their involvement vary. If your child is young, you may attend most or all sessions; if your child is older, you may attend a few sessions or none; sometimes a therapist may ask you to have a session on your own. Whatever the arrangement, you should expect to work collaboratively with the therapist, your child, and your family members to take steps to help support your child.

How long are sessions with child therapists?
Children’s therapy sessions can last 30 minutes, 45 minutes, or 60 minutes. The length of the session may depend on your child’s age and the type of therapy practiced. You can discuss this with therapists you consult and the one you ultimately move forward with.

How do I get a child to agree to seek therapy?
The best approach is to have an open-ended conversation with your child about how they’re doing and what they might be struggling with. When you raise therapy, discuss the concept in an age-appropriate way, for example explaining that a therapist’s job is to help kids handle their hard or uncomfortable feelings. Frame therapy positively, as an opportunity to explore and build emotional skills—it’s an important tool in the toolbox to help kids feel their best.

How can I tell if a therapist is a good fit for my child?
A child needs to feel comfortable opening up about their thoughts and feelings, so if your child feels a sense of comfort, ease, and trust with their therapist, that’s a great sign. In addition, a therapist is a good fit for your child if the two can communicate well together; a clinician should be able to communicate clearly, effectively, and in an age-appropriate manner.
