Anxiety Counselling in Hove
Life's journey can be filled with challenges, and sometimes we all need a helping hand to navigate through difficult times and emerge stronger and more resilient. As a therapist, I am here to offer that support and guidance to help you make sense of your experiences and move forward in a positive and fulfilling way. I bring over three decades of experience to my practice, initially as a mental health nurse, specialising in forensic psychiatry and latterly, over the past nine years, within the voluntary sector, where my focus has been on providing therapy to female clients, many of whom have experienced complex trauma-related issues.

DMP can reduce anxiety and stress and increase aliveness.
Do you sometimes feel limited by words? Dance Movement Psychotherapy (DMP) offers an alternative to talking therapies. As our bodies hold the unconscious aspects of ourselves, movement-based therapy can be particularly effective in addressing feelings held somatically in the body. Dance Movement Psychotherapists believe that changes in the body & movement patterns are reflected in the mind & thinking patterns and vice versa.
DMP can help you feel more attuned to your body, support emotional regulation, reduce stress, improve confidence, and help to form a stronger sense of Self.

I have had the privilege of working with a diverse clientele facing a range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, and relationship issues.
The past leaves its footprints in the future. It can keep affecting us, making it hard to be happy, especially when life throws up challenges. Sometimes it helps to have someone working alongside you, helping you find your path. I know starting therapy can be daunting, so I use an integrated approach to create a safe and supportive environment where you will feel empowered to explore your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. Together we will unpick patterns that no longer serve you, helping you build a more positive future.

I am a psychosexually-informed humanistic counsellor, offering support to individual adults with a diverse range of concerns. Together, we can explore how you relate to yourself and others, helping identify patterns of thinking, feeling and behaving that you would like to challenge in order to enjoy more fulfilling relationships. I offer a warm, safe and accepting space for becoming curious about how it feels to be you right now. Whatever you choose to share will be met with compassion and sensitivity.

I work together with clients to explore patterns developed in childhood - such as people-pleasing, perfectionism, emotional suppression, or fear of intimacy, and how these continue to shape their adult lives.
In our work together, we begin the process of gently unlearning and reconnecting with who they really are. I work with many clients who are parenting neuro divergent children, struggling with lack of time, support, and often in burnout.

I work alongside people who are dealing with all kinds of issues, including, but not limited to, anxiety, relationship issues, neurodivergence-related matters, depression, family issues, life choices, affairs and betrayals, separation, abuse, anger management, grief, low self-esteem or self-confidence, sex and sexuality, LGBT-related issues and stress.
I am a fully trained psychotherapist (MBACP Reg. & MNCPS Acc.) and clinical supervisor with more than two decades experience. When life feels a little out of balance, it's important that we find our own answers to the things that concern us about our lives. It's also important that we do this in a way that suits our preferences, our needs and our styles. Whether weathering a storm in life, getting to heart of some old patterns that no longer serve us, exploring meaning in our lives or coming to terms with loss, psychotherapy can help us to develop greater self-esteem, resilience and self-compassion.

I am a psychotherapist and group analyst and have been a therapist for nearly 30 years in many different settings. In my approach, I am interested in making connections between experiences and difficulties in the present, with events and relationships from the past. In my experience, difficulties people experience as adults can often be part of a repeated pattern. I will be curious about relationships in your life but also the way you relate to yourself and to others. This will include how it is in the therapy relationship - whether individually or group.

I work with adults, teens and older age and have particular focus in anxiety/depression, OCD/intrusive thoughts, trauma, chronic illness/disability and LGBT+ issues.
I offer an honest, trusting, and fundamentally collaborative approach to therapy. I tend to work with a psychodynamic approach, which means that I will encourage you to explore your psychological life, how you relate to others and how you have experienced others throughout your life. I also offer Emdr (see: emdr-europe.org) and CBT.

You may feel stuck in repeating cycles—around addiction, relationships, or intimacy—even though you understand your patterns and genuinely want things to change. Shame, attachment wounds, or codependency often sit underneath, leaving you longing for connection, self-acceptance, and a sense of freedom. Many of the people I work with feel tired of looking outside themselves for answers and are ready to begin a more grounded, authentic kind of healing.
Most people come to therapy feeling unsure or ambivalent — often that’s exactly where meaningful change begins....

I’m a psychodynamic psychotherapist working with adults, offering a steady and compassionate space to explore what’s been difficult, confusing, or overwhelming.
Starting therapy can feel daunting, especially if you’re not used to talking about yourself or you’ve spent a long time holding things together on your own. My aim is to make those first steps feel a little easier. People often come to me when they’re feeling stuck, disconnected from themselves, or unsure why certain feelings or patterns keep happening.
