My specialisations are: anxiety.
Our working relationship and what occurs between us during the process contain many crucial clues. So many answers lie in the Unconscious and my job is to read them in several ways including what your body language/sensations will tell us.what matters first for this to work is that you feel comfortable with me and feel challenged by me.

I offer a calm, reflective space where you can slow down, feel supported, and begin to make sense of whatever has brought you to therapy. My aim is to help you cultivate meaningful, lasting change — whether that means easing distress, understanding yourself more deeply, or navigating difficult experiences with greater clarity and resilience. I am a psychodynamic therapist, accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and a member of EMDR Association UK. I provide a steady, confidential environment where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences at a pace that feels right for you.

When this happens, it's not unusual to feel anxious, low in mood or just aware of feeling "stuck".
I offer a warm and confidential space where you can talk openly about your feelings without fear of criticism or judgment. I'm a registered psychodynamic psychotherapist and accredited counsellor with over ten year's experience, working with individuals, couples, groups and families. I practice under the BACP/UKCP codes of ethics and professional standards.

EMDR therapy is incredibly effective for healing all types of trauma, as well as other issues like anxiety, depression, phobias, & can make groundbreaking shifts in a short space of time.
As an integrative psychotherapist (BACP accredited) and EMDR therapist, I draw on a combination of different approaches, so that the therapy is tailored to each client's individual needs. Clearly professional qualifications & experience are important, but I also place great value on the healing nature of the relationship between client and therapist. Therapy is a collaborative process & I believe that building trust, feeling understood & in charge of decision & choice making within the process are all key aspects of the counselling journey for clients. For more info please visit my website www.cjecounsellingandtherapy.com

Taking the first step to talk to someone can feel difficult. Perhaps you're clear about how you feel or maybe you're confused and it's difficult to put your feelings into words. You may have felt this way for a while and you're not sure why. Maybe you're in a difficult relationship or you feel that your relationships don't last. Many of us struggle to make a life transition or cope with a change or loss in our lives. Perhaps you feel your life is lacking meaning. I can help you make sense of these experiences by understanding their meaning for you and help you gain a greater understanding of yourself in the process.

It can be anything from anxiety and depression, to the loss of a person (through death or relationship breakdown), to deeply rooted emotional issues (such as low self-esteem or inability to form relationships).
I work psychodynamically, where the therapeutic relationship is at the core, allowing for a supportive space in which change can take place. I provide a safe and non-judgemental environment where you can explore and make sense of your feelings, thoughts, and behaviours, whilst integrating CBT techniques and Mindfulness where appropriate.

No matter what brings you to therapy, your experience matters. You may notice patterns repeating, intense emotions that don’t let up, or physical sensations that leave you on edge without a clear reason. Our brains and bodies often react long before we understand why, and therapy can help you make sense of these responses rather than feeling ruled by them.

I work with clients who might be struggling with relationship issues or anxiety.
A warm welcome, my name is Lena and I am a qualified Psychotherapeutic Counsellor. I remember when I was looking for a therapist, how daunting it felt at times with the thought of opening up to someone I have not previously met. I firmly believe that it is the relationship that you and I create together that has the potential to heal. You might be struggling with challenges such as relationships, work commitments or feeling overwhelmed. During such times, it can be invaluable to have someone alongside you. I offer warmth, compassion and a trusting space where , we can together explore any issues.

I have many years of experience working with those suffering from anxiety, stress & burnout, low self-esteem, as well as those who are encountering problems in their relationships or career.
Many people find themselves continually repeating familiar patterns of behaviour and attracting the same problems in their lives. If this has been your cycle, you are not alone, and it is ok to ask for support. Many clients come to me because they have a desire to change yet have been able to make these changes themselves. I have no magical ability to heal anyone or change their life, however I can help you to process how you are feeling, help you to find new perspectives, and can pass on insights and concepts that may help to make sense of your problems, so you can develop the capacity to become your own healer.

Hi, I’m Daniela, a therapist with 8 years of experience helping individuals and couples build more fulfilling and joyful lives together. Having grown up in a high-conflict environment, I understand firsthand the desire for better communication and connection without constant arguments. My journey led me to train at Tavistock as a systemic practitioner, where I learned that true change happens when we look at relationships holistically—acknowledging the patterns that keep us stuck and the dynamics that shape our lives. Let’s work together to strengthen your relationship, improve communication, and create lasting, positive change.

I work with a range of issues, including anxiety, depression, identity, relationships, stress, family and work-related difficulties, carers and diagnoses of life changing illness.
I work psychodynamically, meaning I support you to explore how early experiences influence the way you think, feel, and relate to others. Together, we will uncover parts of you that may have been suppressed, shamed, or made to feel not good enough. Therapy offers a space where you can find your voice and develop a stronger, more secure sense of who you are.

When should I seek treatment for anxiety?
Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

What are the most common types of treatment for anxiety?
Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioural therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioural Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?
The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?
Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
