I support young people (6+) and adults navigating the challenges of anxiety, depression, trauma, OCD, and low self-esteem.
I offer evidence-based CBT tailored to your specific needs. My specialisms include GAD, Social Anxiety, phobias, OCD, BDD, PTSD and Panic. My approach is neuro-affirming; I adapt traditional CBT to be sensory-aware and accessible. With a background in Victim Support, I also bring a trauma-informed lens to help you build resilience and lasting change.

By coming here you've taken the first step and I know it's not easy. There are many reasons why you might have started looking for counselling. Sometimes we can feel uncomfortable but don't understand it or struggle to describe it, life can become overwhelming, or we are confused, and we don't know which way to turn. Perhaps you are facing life changes or decisions and don't know which path to take.

Sometimes life can present difficult challenges. When that happens it's easy to feel confused, lonely, stuck and perhaps even judged. I can help you by providing a space for realisation, processing trauma and finding greater inner peace and freedom to live the life you wish for. I believe that the most important relationship we have is with ourselves. Having self compassion and being at peace with one’s self can be difficult to practice. I want to bring you hope and support you in becoming your own best friend.

We all encounter challenging times and transitions in life: the loss of loved ones, relationship breakdowns, stress at work and health problems. These can often trigger childhood traumas, leading to bad feelings, which might lead us to become disconnected to our self and others. This could then lead to less healthy choices and an inability to hold boundaries. You might want to reconnect with your voice and potency and finds ways of integrating your vulnerability, so that you are more at ease with it and discover your capacity for internal peace, spontaneity and love.

I am a psychodynamic psychotherapist (BACP) and psychodynamic counsellor (BPC), qualified to Master of Science level (Birkbeck, University of London). Having worked in a London-based GP practice on a pro bono basis for several years, I have helped patients from many backgrounds, nationalities, ethnicities, religions, genders, and sexual orientations with the internal, and often, unconscious conflicts that have negatively impacted their emotional and mental well-being and that prevented them from living their everyday life to the fullest.

I work with depression and all anxiety disorders including GAD, social anxiety, health anxiety, OCD and PTSD .
Mental health and well being is important to us all. We can all feel stuck in a unhelpful cycle and adapt to our lives accommodating this. Deciding to make the first contact into therapy can feel conflicting, the first step is the most difficult. My goal is to help you explore how your journey has led you to where you are now, to think about therapeutic ways forward and be a support and guide in finding ways to assist you towards your goal. Each session is tailored to your individual need and is designed to be supportive and collaborative.

Many of the people I work with are high‑functioning adults navigating stress, anxiety, trauma or identity pressures. They often feel overwhelmed, pulled between responsibilities and their own needs, or caught in patterns shaped by family, culture or past experiences. They’re thoughtful, resilient and aware that something deeper needs attention. Therapy supports them to feel more grounded, break old cycles, improve relationships and reconnect with a clearer sense of self.

If you are reading this there is a chance that you (or someone you know) may be experiencing some emotional difficulties. In my personal experience, counselling and psychotherapy can help with a wide range of problems related to life and living. Many of us don't know why we feel unhappy, lacking in confidence or generally anxious. Some experience anxiety in relation to situations where other people seem to cope without a problem. Sitting down with a trained therapist can help alleviate distress as well as uncover the self-defeating patterns we may have stumbled into as a consequence of life's events.

We all have troubling problems at times, be they emotional, personal or work-related. Sometimes these problems can feel overwhelming and we become stressed, anxious and unhappy. This can affect our confidence handling relationships, making decisions and generally, our ability to just cope with the pressures that each day brings. Reaching out to an experienced therapist will enable you to talk openly about your concerns and be listened to without being judged. For many people, this is a profound way of bringing about positive and lasting change.

At times, our experiences and emotions can feel overwhelming. This can impact us physically, emotionally as well as psychologically. Over time, this can have consequences for our day to day lives, relationships and work. Psychodynamic psychotherapy can provide an important, safe, confidential space to gain insight of our ourselves, our experiences and our difficulties. This can involve receiving help to identify, and work through, the underlying events, relationships, beliefs and fears which may be causing destructive patterns as well as feelings of being stuck, frustrated, lost and empty.

Yet getting past difficulties that you recognise are: self esteem, personal image issues, trauma incidents, childhood incidents, Mental Health Conditions such as Depression, OCD, Anxiety.
Sometimes it's about coping strategies and supporting my clients through a tough time or loss, want to change something about how they feel, think or behave, many look to free themselves of the past whilst some aren't sure exactly what they need, they simply feel the struggle to be happy in their life or relationships. You'll find I'm patient and calm by nature, have a compassionate and mature approach to helping, intuitively sense some things are really tough to talk about and whilst I will help you with ideas and tools to reduce symptoms and which can also speed up meaningful change between sessions, note: you will get to direct, manage your own destiny. I have always seen my role as guiding my client to see difficulties you stuck and with my help how to overcome them. My aim is always for my clients to be able to leave feeling confident in knowing their own well being long term.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy or ACT (e.g. ACT for OCD & Trauma), and 5.
I work with adolescents and adults struggling with eating disorders, emetophobia (fear of vomiting), and trauma, often feeling stuck in anxiety, avoidance, or cycles that haven’t shifted despite previous therapy. Many come to me overwhelmed by food, fear, or the impact of past experiences and want more than short-term coping. With 20 years’ experience in mental health and specialist post-qualification training, I provide tailored, evidence-based therapy (CBT, ACT, ERP, EMDR) to target underlying patterns and help you move forward with greater confidence, flexibility, and lasting change.

Obsessive-Compulsive (OCD) Counsellors
How long does OCD treatment take?
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is often treated on a weekly or twice-weekly schedule, depending on symptom severity and the client’s preferences. Some clients may start to see a noticeable improvement in symptoms in as little as six weeks, but it’s also possible, especially in more severe cases, for treatment to take several months to a year before significant progress is made.

What happens if OCD is not treated?
Some people with OCD, especially those with mild symptoms, may find that they are able to adapt reasonably well to life with the condition, even if their symptoms never resolve completely. However, many people, particularly those whose symptoms are severe at the outset, find that their obsessions and compulsions grow more intrusive with time, making it harder to maintain relationships, hold down a job, or navigate the world successfully.

Are there medications for OCD?
Medication can be used to treat OCD. The class of drugs most often prescribed are selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or SSRIs, which include fluvoxamine, fluoxetine, and sertraline, among others. In cases of treatment-resistant OCD, other classes of medication, such as tricyclic antidepressants or atypical antipsychotics, may be prescribed. Medication is frequently used in conjunction with therapy.

Can OCD come back after treatment?
Yes. Major life transitions, periods of stress, or other factors can cause symptoms to return or, if they were never fully eradicated, to ramp back up in intensity. For some, these relapses are brief and do not require additional treatment; identifying specific triggers and practicing the skills learned in therapy can help speed their course. For others, returning to therapy for a brief period can help address the underlying stress and strengthen coping mechanisms.
