Therapy can be a profound process of change and discovery; nowhere else in our lives do we have the undivided attention of someone else. Together we'll look at repeating patterns in your life that are unhelpful for you and work to discover the root of these and make some changes. We make decisions about who we are in childhood and our relationship with the world that then become outdated. Therapy is about changing these decisions. I also incorporate mindfulness and awareness of the present moment into your therapy. The past can lead us to depression and the future to anxiety. Peace is in the present moment.

People often reach out when something in their life feels heavy, confusing or quietly overwhelming. You don’t need to have a clear story to begin. I offer a calm, confidential space where you can slow down, speak honestly, and explore what feels out of step or painful. Much of what shapes us lives below the surface — old patterns, shame, grief, relationships, the body’s responses. Therapy is a place to bring these into conversation, gently and at your pace, so that new understanding and possibilities can begin to emerge.

Are you feeling anxious, depressed, or stressed? Maybe it's pressure at work, a difficult relationship, or a growing sense that something needs to change. You may already know exactly what's wrong but haven't found a way through it yet. Many of the men I work with have spent a long time managing on their own before reaching out. Some arrive with a specific difficulty in mind. Others just want space to think honestly about what's going on, with someone outside their work, family, and friendships.

My clients are typically professional adults in their 30s, 40s, and 50s who are capable, high-functioning, and quietly running on empty. They're holding it together on the outside: meeting deadlines, managing responsibilities, showing up. But something underneath doesn't feel right. A growing disconnection. A sense that the life they've built doesn't quite fit, or an exhaustion they can't shake. Many find it hard to ask for help because they're so used to managing alone. Therapy offers a space to slow down, speak honestly, and explore what's really going on beneath the surface, without being judged, rushed, or told what to do.

Our stories are shaped by so many things — childhood experiences, trauma, spirituality, grief, loss, disappointment, and the beliefs we’ve carried about ourselves.
My approach is relational and integrative. Sometimes we may use creative or exploratory activities to deepen the work; other times, we’ll simply talk — perhaps over a warm brew. As a Christian, I’m comfortable including spirituality in our conversations if you would like to. With specialist training from SANDS in stillbirth, neonatal loss and pregnancy.

Hi there. As a therapist, I offer a safe place to explore a wide range of personal and private issues in confidence. I believe that people suffer unnecessarily due to a lack of education on the purpose, function and management of the mental and emotion parts of ourselves. I want to bridge the gap between those that have studied and those that have struggled with mental health. I am here to support you in your journey by offering a friendly, impartial and philosophical yet practical perspective, to assist you in understanding what may be going on and to devise and tailor a way to healing and happiness.

Originally from Manchester, I now live in Glasgow. I started my counselling training in London on Goldsmith University’s Graduate Certificate in Humanistic & Psychodynamic Counselling, before completing the University of Strathclyde’s MSc, Counselling & Psychotherapy. At Strathclyde I trained in Person-Centred Therapy and this forms the basis of my practice. I have experience working with a wide variety of people, I’m particularly familiar with autism and neurodiversity, and I work with all kinds of issues including depression and anxiety, as well as those vague feelings of just not being what you ought to be.

The reasons we have for seeking therapy are as varied and complex as the people seeking. You may be facing challenges in your life and relationships you wish to overcome. Or want to experience greater creativity, richer relationships, or simply have more ‘good’ days. Within our relationship, I aim to create an environment where you feel comfortable and safe to express, explore and examine your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours both past and present. I am driven to find freedom from the patterns of the past, which existed once to protect us and now may have become self-limiting and even hurtful.

"Having walked a certain path, as a Christian, my Faith in God and leaning on Him has been the greatest pillar I ever held on to experiencing my own post-traumatic growth. However, I value individual differences, respect, diversity, culture, integrity, honesty and ability to find your own path, grow, connect and build an enduring relationship. I firmly believe individuals can be empowered to find their own solutions. I am aware I might not have all the answers or solutions, but I could give one or two suggestions. I am happy to sit with people who find themselves in a dilemma, stuck in difficult and uncomfortable situations".

As someone who experienced a profound alignment to my artistic path and community in recent years after what felt like a lifetime of painful trial and error, I am particularly invested in helping individuals who wish to self-actualise any frustrated creative potential or uncover a calling. The transpersonal aspect of psychotherapy deals with a spiritual dimension of the human experience (not necessarily one that is religious) and in this capacity I hope to assist with people undergoing spiritual emergency.

Sometimes we need to talk. Or unload. Or work out what needs to change. Sometimes we need to do this with someone who's NOT family or a friend or colleague - someone who can listen deeply and confidentially, with fresh ears - with no bias or judgement. Someone who's steady, accepting and unshockable. What does counselling with me look like? Well, there's no one-size-fits-all. I will tailor it to your needs, session by session. You may have clear objectives, or none at all. It's all ok. We can work it out. I'll certainly want to get to know YOU as a human being, not just the 'issue' you're bringing.

I offer a space that isn’t about quick fixes or forced change but about slowing down and listening to what’s beneath the surface. My approach is collaborative and flexible—we work at a pace that feels right for you. Whether you’re facing a major life transition, wrestling with unresolved pain, or simply feeling lost, therapy can be a place to explore who you are, what you need, and how to move forward in a way that feels genuine. You don’t have to navigate this alone. If you’re ready to begin, I’d be honoured to walk alongside you.

What should I expect from therapy that incorporates a focus on spirituality?
Spirituality can mean different things to different individuals, depending on their experiences, beliefs, and life histories. Some individuals focus on strengthening their belief system, while others experience spirituality in secular ways, such as through meditation, yoga, or by spending time in nature. Clients can expect a therapist to help guide and grow their spirituality through any of these techniques, encouraging the individual to cope with the challenges they face and develop strategies to build resilience and purpose to improve their outlook in life.

What are the most common treatments that include spirituality?
There are several treatments that incorporate spirituality. Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) helps a person examine and reframe their negative thoughts and behaviours. Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) focuses on emotional acceptance and psychological flexibility. Existential therapy is most often used to address anxiety, depression, grief, loneliness, apathy, despair, questions of identity, and feelings of purposelessness and existential dread. Transpersonal therapy focuses on a client’s spirituality and meaning in life and may incorporate techniques including meditation, visualisation, hypnotherapy, dream analysis, and or breathwork.

Can therapy incorporating spirituality help atheistic or agnostic individuals?
Yes. For non-believers, spirituality can offer benefits including a greater sense of connection to others and to the natural world. An interest in spirituality may also spur individuals to pursue mindfulness practices, or to contemplate their purpose in life and how to achieve it.

How effective is spirituality as a therapeutic remedy?
Research suggests spirituality is generally beneficial for individuals. It is correlated with better health habits, such as less substance use, and an improved capacity to cope with stress and other mental health challenges. Increased spirituality can lead individuals to become more empathic and less materialistic, as well.
