People often reach out when something in their life feels heavy, confusing or quietly overwhelming. You don’t need to have a clear story to begin. I offer a calm, confidential space where you can slow down, speak honestly, and explore what feels out of step or painful. Much of what shapes us lives below the surface — old patterns, shame, grief, relationships, the body’s responses. Therapy is a place to bring these into conversation, gently and at your pace, so that new understanding and possibilities can begin to emerge.

I work with women who are finding pregnancy or new motherhood harder than they expected - not in the “normal hard” way people talk about, but in a way that feels isolating and stuck.
I use CBT and EMDR to gently work through what happened and what’s keeping you stuck. We’ll calm anxious thoughts, process difficult experiences, and build practical tools you can use when panic or dread hits. Over time, you can move from survival mode to feeling safer in your body and more present in pregnancy and motherhood.

Specialist interests include infertility, pregnancy and infant loss, traumatic birth experiences, TFMR and postnatal support.
It isn't often, in our everyday lives, that we feel truly heard, understood and accepted without sensing judgement or criticism from others. I deeply acknowledge and understand the loneliness that comes from struggling in silence with life's difficulties. Therapy offers you a calm space to begin to tell your story; permission to pause and reflect on what you have been through, validate your response to trauma and loss and gently navigate the path forward. I will support you on your therapeutic journey, gently empowering you to realise your inner resources and ways of coping and navigating your world so that you feel more in control.

Many people struggle with thoughts like “I’m the problem,” “I’m worthless,” or “What if something bad happens…” thoughts that can make everyday tasks feel overwhelming. These patterns often come with anxiety, low mood, obsessive thinking or behaviours, and a constant sense of being on edge or disconnected. I specialise in helping you recognise, understand, and gently challenge these unhelpful thought patterns using evidence‑based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). My approach focuses on small, meaningful changes that help you feel calmer, more grounded, and more in control.

Hello! My name is Carmen and I am working as a private practitioner. I worked before in schools, drug and alcohol rehab and occupational health (EAP and assessments). I'll work with you in a way that will enable you to discover yourself, maybe the difficulty which probably causes you distress, increase your motivation and hopefully change your life in better. We can talk about what it is happening now but also we can address aspects from your past which are just on 'pause' at the minute but they 'creep' out whenever they want. Usually my sessions are based on your needs, purpose and action.

Perinatal mental health is my specialism, but for over 15 years I've worked with anxiety, OCD, depression, trauma, low self-esteem, and everything in between.
Ever feel like you're just about keeping it together — stuck in the same patterns, overwhelmed, or quietly struggling in a way that's hard to put into words? You're not alone, and you don't have to keep managing it on your own. I work with adults feeling anxious, low, or stuck — especially during big life changes like early parenthood or those seasons of life where everything shifts at once. A lot of the people I work with are trying to do things a bit differently — to understand themselves better, break cycles that have been passed down through generations, and find healthier ways of coping and relating.

Hi, I'm Emma, an integrative, person centred psychotherapist. Coming from a background in peri-nataI mental health I'm passionate about working with themes connected to the family such as birth trauma, generational trauma, childhood trauma, attachment issues, low self esteem, late autism/ADHD diagnosis, fertility issues and baby loss. This involves working with mind and body to rediscover a sense of your true authentic self, to find understanding and identify patterns of behaviour or obstacles preventing you from being the best version of yourself. Collaboratively this could result in an acceptance of self and deeper connections.

I have a special interest in pregnancy, postnatal wellbeing (including birth trauma), supported by a dedicated supervision group, and work with adults at significant life crossroads.
You came here because thinking harder about your life isn't working. You understand your patterns. And yet, there's a gap between knowing and actually feeling different, and that's exactly what we can work through. You may be navigating a major transition: the unique pressures of university, new parenthood, relationship difficulties, anxiety, or a quiet sense that something isn't adding up. Perhaps you're sitting with a grief about the state of the world that doesn't quite have a name. Whatever you bring, I work with all of it. Together we find a way through that goes beyond thinking into something that actually shifts.

Pregnancy, Prenatal, Postpartum Counsellors
What are the most effective ways to address pregnancy, prenatal, and postpartum concerns?
The most effective way to address pregnancy, prenatal, and postpartum concerns is by finding a therapist who has prior experience helping other patients overcome the challenge being faced. For example, a marriage and family therapist may have experience helping couples adjust to their new relationship dynamic. An anxiety specialist may have experience helping with phobias or illness anxiety related to the child’s health. A depression specialist may have experience treating postpartum depression.

When should I seek treatment for prenatal or postpartum concerns?
Pregnancy and the postpartum period involve intense physical and mental changes; a degree of upset and instability is normal. However, if these changes impair daily functioning, it may be time to seek help. This distinction is pertinent for postpartum depression: A period of teariness, irritability, and distress is difficult but normal in the one to two weeks after childbirth (sometimes called the “baby blues.”) But if feelings of sadness and hopelessness persist beyond that period, the person should seek treatment.

How do I manage worries during pregnancy or the postnatal period?
A therapist can help patients develop the tools they need to manage anxieties during or after pregnancy. Cognitive behavioural therapy can help people identify and reframe harmful patterns of thought, and change their behaviours. Other techniques and skills can allow people to develop acceptance, psychological flexibility, self-compassion, communication skills, and more.
