In addition to my psychotherapy MA I am qualified to use Rewind Trauma Therapy to help you completely recover from PTSD, C-PTSD, nightmares, phobias and intrusive thoughts and images.
Hello, & thank you for reading. I'm glad you're here. You may long for closeness but find relationships complicated, painful, or overwhelming. Perhaps you’ve learned to keep parts of yourself hidden, or you’ve felt “too much” or “not enough” for others. You might also notice how past experiences linger in the present, affecting how safe you feel with people and in your own body. If you’re neurodivergent, you may carry the added weight of not feeling fully understood in the world, or of needing to navigate sensory and social landscapes that others take for granted.

You may be struggling with anxiety or depression or feeling overwhelmed in ways that might not make sense and don’t fit a clear label
Feeling safe enough to be fully heard, to be understood and fully accepted is something we all need. I also specialise in working with felt sensations in the body so that we are able to fully connect with our unconscious processes to release trauma.

Are you feeling anxious, depressed, or stressed?
Therapy can help when life looks good on paper but something feels missing, when stress or burnout make it hard to switch off, when self-doubt leaves you feeling never quite enough, when you want more fulfilling relationships but find it hard to be yourself, or when what you want gets overshadowed by what you feel you should want.

Are you experiencing the effects of trauma, relational abuse, eating/body/lifestyle-related difficulties or neurodivergent overwhelm? These issues are my core specialisms, however I also support clients in creative and high‑pressure roles who are navigating burnout, identity shifts or chronic tension. Many clients come to me feeling stuck, burnt out or carrying long‑term stress as symptoms in their bodies. Some have tried to cope alone through research, journalling or self‑help but nothing has shifted enough. I offer a calm, grounded space where you can slow down, feel understood and begin to make sense of what is happening.

If you’re feeling anxious, ashamed, overwhelmed or disconnected — and sense it might be time to look at your life more closely — you’re welcome to reach out.
People often reach out when something in their life feels heavy, confusing or quietly overwhelming. You don’t need to have a clear story to begin. I offer a calm, confidential space where you can slow down, speak honestly, and explore what feels out of step or painful. Much of what shapes us lives below the surface — old patterns, shame, grief, relationships, the body’s responses. Therapy is a place to bring these into conversation, gently and at your pace, so that new understanding and possibilities can begin to emerge.

Having struggled with poor mental health myself and receiving therapy as a result, I can totally understand the nerves and anxiety that you may have before you embark on your therapeutic journey but you have nothing to fear.
I have a very informal approach to the therapy I offer. Counselling does not need to be a formal setting or an intense atmosphere. When you come and see me, it’s just a brew and a chat while we chew the fat and have some deep conversations, with a bit of laughter along the way.

When should I seek treatment for anxiety?
Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

What are the most common types of treatment for anxiety?
Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioural therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioural Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?
The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?
Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
