Hello and Welcome, Life can indeed be difficult at times. Many are struggling with mental health in ways that are no longer manageable. Our past and present hurts, our unprocessed feelings can rise to the surface. We find ourselves thinking, feeling and acting in ways that do not reflect who we want to be. Some of us have Grief, Trauma or Addiction that we just can’t seem to work through. As a Senior Accredited Psychotherapist with a PHD(Hon), Master Degree and EMDR(Accredited), I've seen thousands come through my door, with various presenting issues and undergo genuine transformation, healing and leave with hope for the future.

I am an integrative therapist with over a decade of experience. Integrative therapy means I use a blend of therapeutic approaches tailored to each client's unique needs. This work is not just a job to me; it is a privilege to witness my clients transform and grow. My decision to become a therapist was inspired by my own physical and emotional life challenges and the profound healing I experienced through many years of psychotherapy and spiritual awakening. My personal journey fuels my passion for helping others heal, transform and live fulfilling lives.

There can be many reasons for entering psychotherapy, such as in times of unhappiness, difficulty or crisis; we may be struggling in relationships, caught in unhelpful patterns or suffering from a loss of meaning. Relational and developmental trauma symptoms can undermine our ability to fulfil our potential and/or form secure connections with others. Because our wounding often takes place in relation to another, I believe so too can our healing. My intention is to offer a compassionate, attuned and empathic presence, which can support a shared enquiry into your authentic experience, within a safe and non-judgmental space.

Life can feel heavy when you’re exhausted from "keeping it together" while navigating trauma, anxiety, or the complexities of neurodivergence. Perhaps you’re struggling with the weight of masking, or maybe past experiences are showing up in your body as tension, shame, or hypervigilance. You might simply feel "out of sorts" or stuck in a cycle of survival that leaves you feeling misunderstood. I offer a gentle, trauma-informed space where you don’t have to explain yourself or be anyone other than who you are. Whether we are exploring childhood trauma, cultural identity, or the day-to-day challenges of ADHD and mood, all at your pace

If you’re investigating psychotherapists right now, it’s likely something in your life isn’t working. It may be that you’re struggling with feelings of depression, anxiety or low self-esteem. Perhaps you’re having difficulties in your relationships, or your work is not fulfilling you. You might be carrying painful memories from the past that you’re unable to let go of and these experiences are now preventing you from leading the life you wish for yourself. Perhaps your coping mechanisms are not working or have become destructive, or maybe you feel there is something more to life, but you don't know what that something is.

Somatic Counsellors
How does somatic therapy work?
Somatic therapy is a form of treatment that focuses on how the body and mind are interconnected. In this approach, physical symptoms are addressed because they may in fact signal emotional distress. Somatic therapists combine mindfulness, talk therapy, breathwork, yoga, dance, and physical manipulations of the body to help patients become more attuned to what their body is telling them.

Is EMDR a somatic therapy?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a form of somatic therapy, as it incorporates mental and physical principles. EMDR involves remembering a traumatic experience while allowing one’s eyes to track a side-to-side visual stimulus from a therapist. This lateral eye movement is believed to diminish the painful power of the memory so that it can be discussed with a therapist.

Is somatic therapy evidence-based?
Somatic therapy has been researched and studied, and some forms of somatic therapy are found to be effective in treating a wide range of conditions. Because somatic therapy encompasses many techniques, some, such as EMDR and meditation, have been studied more than others.

What is somatic trauma therapy?
Somatic trauma therapy is based on the idea that when people experience trauma, they can become stuck in the “freeze” part of a “fight, flight, or freeze” response. In this state, trauma can manifest itself both mentally and physically—through tension in the muscles, anxiety, and stress. Popular forms of somatic trauma therapy include EMDR, sensorimotor therapy, and somatic experiencing.
