You may be here because you’re looking for someone you can truly talk to — someone who will listen with empathy, curiosity, and respect. My role as a therapist is to offer a space where you feel safe and supported as we explore current challenges, past experiences, or beliefs about yourself and the world that may hold you back from living a more fulfilling life. A clear picture of what exactly troubles you isn't always necessary — only to know that you desire change. Together, we can develop a deeper understanding of what’s happening for you and explore how therapy might support your growth, healing, and potential.

I have also worked with clients facing a variety of challenges, such as anxiety, cancer diagnosis, grief and simply feeling overwhelmed.
Do you find yourself questioning whether you're good enough, putting others' needs before your own, or frightened that people won’t like you if you ask for what you really want? Are you constantly pushing people away because you’re terrified of getting hurt again, or finding yourself constantly needing reassurance because you fear the relationship will end? Whether you are struggling with relationships, carrying hurt from your past, or feeling stuck in a life that doesn't quite fit anymore, your reality doesn’t have to stay like this. Reaching out for support can feel scary and overwhelming, but you do not have to navigate it alone

Hello and Welcome, Life can indeed be difficult at times. Many are struggling with mental health in ways that are no longer manageable. Our past and present hurts, our unprocessed feelings can rise to the surface. We find ourselves thinking, feeling and acting in ways that do not reflect who we want to be. Some of us have Grief, Trauma or Addiction that we just can’t seem to work through. As a Senior Accredited Psychotherapist with a PHD(Hon), Master Degree and EMDR(Accredited), I've seen thousands come through my door, with various presenting issues and undergo genuine transformation, healing and leave with hope for the future.

I am passionate about working with people towards a more fulfilling and empowered life. Together we can explore, not what's wrong with you, but more, what's happened to you. Developing a deeper awareness of ourselves can allow a greater compassion for ourself - thereby enabling us to choose better choices which are more suited to our true self. Life can sometimes be difficult through no fault of our own. I aim to create a safe, empathic and non-judgmental environment so you can talk freely and confidentially as we explore these things together in your session.

Aside from the work with private clients over the previous years, where I have worked with a wide range of issues, I have also worked with cancer support and housing and employment charities.
In a world where we are more connected than ever before, do you often find yourself feeling lonely? Do you ever feel restless, knowing something doesn’t quite feel right, but you’re not sure what the problem is? Maybe you know that an issue is affecting your life, but you don’t know where to begin in resolving it. If any of this sounds familiar, then together we'll look to identify the feelings, beliefs and memories that are specific to you, and find ways you can respond to these leaving you feeling calm, self-compassionate and more resolved.

Together we can make space for the fear, exhaustion, uncertainty and shifts in identity that often follow a diagnosis of cancer or serious illness.
Life carries on, but you don't feel quite like yourself anymore. Perhaps anxiety, stress, grief, burnout or a major life change has left you feeling less steady in yourself. I offer a warm, down-to-earth space to make sense of what's changed. Many of the people I work with are used to coping. They may be managing work, relationships and responsibilities, yet privately feel overwhelmed, anxious, exhausted or unlike themselves. Others are navigating grief, illness, menopause, ADHD or autism, and trying to understand themselves differently.

How does cancer affect mental health?
A cancer diagnosis is a major life event that can significantly influence the mental health of any individual. Being diagnosed with cancer often introduces a sense of uncertainty about the future, which can cause clients to experience symptoms of anxiety, depression, and significant distress. Many cancer patients may also worry about the toll that their diagnosis may have on their family, their physical health, their job, and their financial situation. The compounding of such stressors can also decrease mental health in clients and may lead to additional symptoms that can influence mental health, such as sleeping difficulties or social withdrawal.

What is the best psychological therapy for cancer patients?
The best type of psychological therapy for cancer patients is highly dependent on the needs of the individual. The therapy type that a client benefits from may also depend on what stage of the cancer journey they are in. Recently diagnosed cancer patients, for instance, may benefit from therapies such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), which can help clients develop skills to manage the emotional distress that comes with a cancer diagnosis. Alternatively, cancer patients further along in their journey may benefit from therapies like Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) or other forms of mindfulness therapy to help manage symptoms or physical pain associated with treatment. Clients may also consider group therapy, which offers cancer patients an opportunity to receive support from other individuals dealing with a cancer diagnosis.

Are there any risks or drawbacks in going to therapy while dealing with cancer?
Although attending therapy while dealing with a cancer diagnosis can be helpful, one major concern for cancer patients can be the financial cost of seeking therapy. Many therapists are out-of-network, meaning they do not accept insurance, and thus clients are expected to pay the entirety of the session fee. Since many cancer patients may be out of work as a result of their diagnosis or cancer treatment regimen, the costs of therapy sessions can be substantial. Luckily, many cancer centers and local clinics may offer free or substantially reduced-cost counselling services to cancer patients and their families. In addition, cancer patients may be eligible for grants or other forms of funding from local agencies and nonprofits to seek therapy for their cancer diagnosis. Such opportunities can be very helpful for cancer patients, as they allow clients to obtain the benefits of therapy without the financial strain.

How long does cancer therapy typically last?
The length of cancer therapy depends on the needs of each client. In some cases, cancer patients may only require therapeutic support during the period following their initial diagnosis—to help manage the uncertainty and shock of a cancer diagnosis. In other cases, clients may choose to receive therapy throughout their treatment, and even following, their cancer journey. Pursuing therapy for a longer period of time can help clients develop a deeper relationship with their therapist and provide opportunity to process the challenges presented by cancer treatment, such as physical pain, and challenges associated with cancer survivorship, such as ongoing identity concerns, physical limitations, or relationship challenges.
