Sometimes life becomes hard and we can become stuck in some difficult feelings. Led by you and working at your pace we will gently hold and explore any issues and difficulties you may be experiencing in your life. My hope is that in offering you my empathy, warmth, and acceptance you will feel that nothing is too small, too big or too awful to talk about. My counselling is person-centred, focusing on the belief that if we are given empathy and unconditional positive regard within an accepting and transparent therapeutic relationship, we all have a tendency towards growth and a capacity to flourish.

Have you experienced distress and upset or loss ? Unresolved issues that trouble you ? Do you suffer from anxiety, panic attacks, PTS or depression ? Do you want to feel differently about the life you live or the person that you are. Perhaps you want to change aspects of you life for it to be more rewarding. Maybe you know that things are unlikely to change. Do you require a safe space where you can be heard, a place to share your thoughts and be understood. A place where being you is good enough. If you are 16 years old or heading into your 99th year, wanting to explore your world then it would be a privilege to support you.

I work in what is described as an 'integrative' approach, ultimately this means having a Person-Centred base and then integrating elements from a number of evidence-based approaches including Cognitive-Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Interpersonal Therapy in order to meet the needs of each individual. For you, this means that the therapy you are provided with, is completely tailored to your specific needs as they change. I believe that everyone has the potential for growth and change and I offer a warm, supportive, and non-judgmental space where you feel safe to explore areas of your life that you are struggling with.

Whatever brings you here, it can be the start of meaningful change. Therapy isn't only for times of crisis. Our life experiences shape the way we feel, relate and move through the world; we don’t always realise the patterns of behaviour we have developed to survive. In therapy, you may wish to explore these long-held beliefs, understanding their origins and assessing their relevance today.

You might not have all the answers yet, but you're ready to explore what change could look like with support. Therapy offers a space to slow down, reflect, and reconnect with your inner self. It's a place where you can safely unpack what’s been holding you back and start building a life that feels more aligned with who you truly are.

At the heart of my work is the therapeutic relationship. I believe healing begins when we feel safe enough to be fully ourselves-heard, understood and accepted without judgement. I offer a warm, relational and containing space where you can slow down, explore your inner world, and make sense of your experiences at a pace that feels right for you. Together, we create a relationship where difficult emotions can be held with care, explored with curiosity and over time, become more manageable and meaningful. With over six years of clinical experience, my practice is integrative, rooted primarily in relational and psychodynamic theory.

How effective is treatment for learning disabilities?
When initiated early and tailored to a child’s specific needs, learning disability treatment can be quite effective at helping a child cope with their disability, though its exact efficacy may depend on the severity of symptoms and whether comorbid disorders exist. Less is known about treatment initiated in adulthood, but it is certainly possible that an adult with a learning disability will see some improvement—or at the very least, identify workarounds and accommodations that could make symptoms less burdensome in day-to-day life.

When should someone seek treatment for learning disabilities?
It’s best to seek treatment as early as possible. Because learning disabilities often go unnoticed until a child starts school, or even until they’re a few years along, regular check-ins with teachers and doctors can help parents determine whether children are meeting milestones and keeping up with peers or whether an evaluation for learning disabilities may be warranted. And although earlier is always better, it’s never too late to be evaluated for learning disabilities and to seek treatment.

What happens if learning disabilities are left untreated?
Undiagnosed and untreated learning disabilities can be a source of significant frustration and shame for a child, who may feel that their challenges stem from a lack of intelligence or willpower. Such feelings can trigger low self-esteem, depression, or anxiety, which may push a child toward risky behaviors, including substance use. In adulthood, untreated learning disabilities can interfere with career success, and lingering feelings of self-doubt and shame can negatively affect someone’s mental health.

Are there medications for learning disabilities?
Currently, there are no medications designed to treat specific learning disabilities such as dysgraphia or dyscalculia. However, someone with a learning disability may be prescribed medication for a comorbid condition, such as anxiety, depression, or ADHD, which may have positive downstream effects on their learning disability; for example, a child with both ADHD and dyslexia may find that they’re better able to focus on their reading exercises after being prescribed a stimulant medication.
