You may be feeling disconnected from your body, holding the breath, and living mostly in your head. You are not alone. I see you as a whole being who has adapted to survive, often in a way that used to make sense. Breath, posture, sensations, and symptoms often carry deeper meanings. My mind & body approach is truly holistic, integrative, down-to-earth: Integrative Yoga Psychotherapy, a pioneering therapy model grounded in neuroscience, mindfulness, breathwork and somatic therapy. I also draw from a variety of approaches, as appropriate for you, guided by your preferences and the relational dynamics of our work.

I have a particular interest in working with people experiencing difficulties with Anxiety, OCD, ADHD, Binge eating and Overcoming the impact of difficult or traumatic experiences, including PTSD
Hi, I am Lindsey, a BABCP accredited CBT therapist based in Uckfield, East Sussex and online. Experiencing times when we feel low or anxious is normal. In fact it’s a great sign that we’re human! There are times in our lives though when how we are feeling gets in the way of living the life we want. This may be in response to challenging or traumatic events that we’ve experienced in life but not always. Even some of the best moments in life can give rise to anxiety.

Hello! I'm Richard. You may have arrived here as you may be experiencing some distress or navigating a specific struggle and are hoping to find some clarity in what’s going on for you. We all experience difficulties occasionally and life can be challenging sometimes. Finding a therapist that is right for you is key, particularly because mutually nourishing relationships with others are essential for your emotional wellbeing. It is normal and healthy to seek support because we don’t have to face any issue alone. It’s okay to want to find the missing piece of your puzzle.

I understand how hard it can be trying to decide which counsellor is right for you and to find a counsellor who you can trust and confide in and feel comfortable enough to be completely open with. We are all drawn to different counsellors and finding the right match is really important. It needs to be someone who you can relate to, who gets you, who listens to the detail and tries to help you uncover and understand how you are feeling in a patient and gentle way. I believe that establishing and building trust is key for the counselling relationship to develop.

Hello and a warm welcome. Sometimes it can be hard to find the right counsellor, especially if you are feeling lost, anxious, low or completely overwhelmed by life. The process of finding someone who you feel comfortable with can be confusing and perhaps a little daunting and yet it is so important to find the right person for you. I hope this goes some way to helping you making that decision. Something may have happened in your life such as a loss, a traumatic event, a relationship breakdown, or you may just feel you have ‘lost’ yourself along the way. Perhaps you feel lonely, confused, trapped or in complete despair?

I have a special interest in working with clients with neurodiversity ( ADHD/ASC)
I integrate EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients process difficult memories, reduce anxiety and distress, and build psychological flexibility. EMDR can help the brain reprocess traumatic or stuck memories so they no longer feel overwhelming.

My expertise include conducting neuro-developmental diagnostic assessments (Autism and ADHD), cognitive assessments, and providing psychological assessment and evidence-based treatments for a range of clinical mental health conditions, including anxiety disorders (OCD, GAD, phobias), trauma, psycho-somatic conditions and depression.
I offer ND assessments for children, teenagers and adults. Assessments use standardised measures, and incorporate 'gold standard' assessment tools, such as the ADOS-2. I work alongside a wonderful HCPC Speech and Language Therapist, Laurie Prichard. We have both had extensive experience working both private and NHS services.

Maybe you’ve just got a diagnosis — autism, ADHD, AuDHD, PDA, giftedness, or a combination nobody quite has a name for yet — that explains everything and also raises approximately a thousand new questions.
You need someone who gets how your brain works — the gifted bits, the chaotic bits, the bits that are genuinely brilliant and the bits that make you want to lie on the floor. That’s what I’m here for. We’ll explore why your brain ticks the way it does, who you truly are underneath it all, and what actually works for you.

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?
You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.

How does treatment for ADHD work?
Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioural therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.

How long does treatment for ADHD take?
It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
