Imagine waking up feeling refreshed, with a clear mind and a sense of purpose. Picture yourself navigating relationships with calm and confidence, living a life where you're not just coping, but thriving. Does this feel out of reach? It doesn’t have to be. Perhaps you lie awake at night, your mind racing with anxious thoughts. Or feel trapped in a relationship that brings more pain than joy. Or dream of writing that book or making art, yet find yourself procrastinating. Or feel unsure of your next steps, longing for a life that feels more fully your own.

I'm a compassionate, responsive, trauma-informed therapist. People come to me to talk through things that are affecting their lives, especially difficulties they are experiencing in relationships with partners, family, friends or colleagues.
As well as working on the immediate issue, we'll look at understanding who you are and how you act and feel in relationships with others. We'll strengthen your sense of self and give you confidence in recognising your needs.
By looking at your past experiences, present situation, and future hopes, the therapy will give you the self-knowledge to make positive changes.

Couples often come to see me at a crucial turning point in their relationship, following the birth of a child, after an affair, or when communication feels like it has broken down. I also see individuals affected by the same issues, plus anxiety and grief, loss, depression or a sense that life may not have turned out the way they would have hoped. Whatever you’re struggling with, having a non-judgmental other, who is able to think when thinking can often feel impossible, can bring relief and a feeling of being understood, perhaps for the very first time.

If you’re reading this, I’m guessing things aren’t feeling quite ‘right’ in your life at the moment. Perhaps you’re struggling with some difficult thoughts or feelings. Perhaps you’ve hit a fork in the road and you’re unsure which way to go. Perhaps you’re not really sure what ‘it’ is that needs to change. I believe that opening up and sharing your concerns with someone who is trained to listen and respond to you, is the first step in working through them. While counselling can’t remove the challenging experiences that you're facing, it can help to empower you so you can move through them with strength and purpose.

So, let's talk about you. Perhaps you've experienced a painful break up from a romantic relationship and are left hurt, confused, scared even and are feeling totally lost and unsure of how to move forward. Sometimes we just don't want to let go! The anxiety of it all can be through the roof and can really leave you questioning yourself and leave you feeling small with next to no self worth, destroying confidence.

Starting therapy can be daunting, so hopefully we can make this first step less mysterious and enable you to decide if choosing me as your therapist is the right option.
I genuinely believe that you are the very best expert in you. Unfortunately for many, we grew up and continue to live with far too many negative external judgments and influences. Counselling enables you to re-find who you truly are, when those influences and judgements are recognised and their power reduced.
Whatever your reason for seeking therapy, my biggest role is to keep you safe and supported throughout.

You may find yourself in the company of many yet still experience a profound sense of isolation. A significant portion of your life might be dedicated to conforming to someone else's expectations, leaving you feeling inadequate or disconnected from your authentic self. There may be an underlying sense that something is amiss, even if you cannot precisely identify it, yet you are aware that it does not feel right. The journey toward self-discovery, personal growth, effecting change, and fostering meaningful relationships with others can be daunting and unfamiliar.

The majority of my clients are neurodivergent and/or queer and want to explore what that means for them with someone who understands. Are you living with anxiety, emotional overwhelm, or the impact of past experiences that still affect how safe you feel in relationships? Maybe you struggle with self-esteem, overthinking, trauma responses, or patterns linked to neurodivergence such as burnout or masking? Some clients come questioning their identity, sexuality, or sense of self; others feel stuck using coping behaviours that no longer help. You don’t need a diagnosis, just the sense that something needs understanding.

Sex-Positive, Kink Allied Counsellors
Why might an individual want to see a sex-positive, kink-allied therapist?
A sex-positive or kinky individual may want to see a sex-positive, kink-allied therapist because the client may feel safer and more supported discussing their experiences and challenges. A therapist who identifies as kink-friendly will have experience with clients having diverse sexual preferences and will likely be nonjudgmental and supportive about issues brought to the table. It is important to note that sex-positive, kink-allied individuals may find equal success with therapists who do not have such specialised knowledge and background. The most important factor in the success of therapy is for the client and practitioner to form a strong, trusting bond.
Do therapists have special training to gain expertise in sex-positive, kink-allied treatment?
Generally, no. There are limited training programs and unofficial accreditations that therapists can pursue, but a therapist’s expertise will ultimately come from their previous experience with similar clients, their engagement with organisations that promote sex positivity or kink-allied lifestyles, and the importance they place on safety and cultural sensitivity.
How can individuals recognise a good sex-positive, kink-allied therapist?
An experienced therapist is able to help clients explore their sexual identity and expression and relieve any discomfort or stigma attached to discussing such matters and the client’s overall challenges. A therapist who is sex-positive and kink-allied is able to create an environment that honors a client’s experience and sexual preferences. To recognise a good therapist, clients can simply ask directly about topics and issues important to them and gauge their comfort level and connection with a clinician based on the responses.
Can clients benefit from having a therapist with a focus on sex positivity and alternative sexual lifestyles?
Some individuals may feel most comfortable knowing that the clinician they’re working with has a commitment to creating an atmosphere of sex positivity and has experience with relationship diversity and alternative relationship structures. Working with a sex-positive, kink-allied therapist may help clients respect their own challenges and improve identity-affirming treatment.
