If you’re searching for the right counsellor for you, the best tip I can offer is to contact a few and find someone you feel drawn to, someone you can connect with and form a warm and safe working relationship with.
I have a particular interest in neurodivergence (coming from a neurodivergent family myself) as well as perimenopause and in understanding how these can interact and affect wellbeing.

I also work with those who grew up with emotionally immature parents and adult children of alcoholics, and the lasting impact this can have on our lives and relationships.

Areas of Support I specialize in helping people navigate common life challenges, such as: • Anxiety • Depression • Relationship breakdown • Bereavement By helping you explore and understand your experiences and history, I aim to foster a renewed sense of self-confidence and vitality.
Why Seek Therapy? Feeling stuck or overwhelmed? You're not alone. Are you feeling down, unsure about your emotions, overwhelmed, or just need someone to listen and understand you? Many people turn to therapy for various reasons, and often the hardest part is overcoming the belief that our struggles are ordinary and we should just "get on with it." But reaching out can make a world of difference.

Couples Counselling will help you to understand your emotions and discover a new intimacy.
Individual Counselling will help you with low confidence and anxiety. Confidence is important in every aspect of our lives and yet it can be a struggle to unearth it from deep within our personality. The more confidence we have the more we are likely to achieve our goals and lead a happier fulfilled life instead of becoming negative and self destructive.

I believe that building a strong relationship between yourself, the client, and me, the counsellor, based on trust, openness, and honesty, is key to affecting change and growth within yourself, and it is at the heart of the work that we will do together.

Life gives us challenges at times no matter who we are. We are better equipped to deal with these challenges when we have the right support in place. This is where counselling can play a big part in supporting you to deal with whatever challenges you might be facing. Couples Counselling
Does couples counseling work?
Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.

When should a couple seek counseling?
Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.

How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?
The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.

How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?
The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
