Kip Erev
Psychotherapist, MA, HCPC-Art Therap.
I’m Kip, and I’m an art psychotherapist based in Sussex.
I am queer, trans and neurodivergent, and welcome opportunities to work inclusively with all kinds of people. I believe we are all deeply affected by the systems we exist within and the marginalisations that can arise from this. Art therapy is collaborative and relational, and I intend for it to be a space in which you can be your whole self.

With 25 years of experience in counselling & psychotherapy I aim to help couples & individuals understand emotions and how to get more from their relationships. Some want to renew a long gone passion and others are just fighting to stay together - the answer is often found by looking at new ways to communicate with each other rather than fixing a disagreement. There will be reasons for your behaviour that make sense and I will help you to uncover these throughout our sessions together. You may have an ‘arguing style’ and by looking more deeply, at your inner hurt and anger, we will be able to discover what is really going on.

I work creatively with art or nature if helpful and approrpiate for clients to engage with 'stuck' emotions.
Life can feel tough, possibly overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, depressed, angry or lacking in self esteem. You may be finding it difficult to make any sense of what you are experiencing and this can be both frightening and isolating. As an experienced therapist, I believe counselling can be a transformative and meaningful experience, with change made possible through compassionate curiosity whilst in a supportive therapeutic relationship. I am dedicated to helping others bring about healing and growth, a sense of acceptance and empowerment towards positive change. Clinics in Hove and Chailey, I only work online with existing clients.

I understand how hard getting support can feel; not knowing how talking might help or if you’re ready to let someone share your inner world. Finding the right fit for you shouldn’t also be part of the struggle. Most people come to therapy to stop hiding. But for Neurodivergent and LGBTQ+ communities, the therapy can sometimes feel like another place where you must mask, explain yourself, or justify your sensory needs. Whether you’re processing or exploring ADHD/Autism/AuDHD, exploring your gender or sexuality, or just ‘managing’ living in an inhospitable world, I provide a space where you don't have to translate yourself.

I have many years of experience working with teenagers and adults who feel overwhelmed, anxious, or stuck, whether due to current stress, relationship difficulties, panic attacks, or long‑standing experiences that still affect them. People often come to me when life feels too heavy to manage alone or when emotions feel intense and confusing. I help people move forward by offering a calm, confidential space to explore what’s happening, understand patterns, and develop practical coping strategies. I support both neurodivergent and neurotypical clients in finding clarity, confidence, and a way through.

Hi, I’m Daniela, a therapist with 10 years of experience helping individuals and couples build more fulfilling and joyful lives together. Having grown up in a high-conflict environment, I understand firsthand the desire for better communication and connection without constant arguments. My journey led me to train at Tavistock as a systemic practitioner, where I learned that true change happens when we look at relationships holistically—acknowledging the patterns that keep us stuck and the dynamics that shape our lives. Let’s work together to strengthen your relationship, improve communication, and create lasting, positive change.

Many people come to me when life feels heavier than it should. They may be carrying emotional pain, feeling overwhelmed by relationships or family dynamics, or noticing patterns that keep repeating despite their best efforts. Others simply want a calm, steady space to pause and make sense of what’s going on beneath the surface. I offer that space. Working relationally and at a safe pace, we explore their inner world with curiosity and compassion, untangling what holds them back and supporting meaningful, lasting change.

You may seem capable on the outside yet on the inside feel anxious, depressed, self-critical or constantly on edge. Your experiences of childhood and relational trauma through emotional, domestic, sexual abuse and neglect may have left feelings of guilt, shame, over-responsibility and difficulty in trusting yourself or others. You might notice tension in your body, racing thoughts or a sense of being "on alert" or disconnected even when safe. You long for understanding, peace from self-criticism and negativity. You want to set healthy boundaries and experience greater ease in your life and relationships.

How does art therapy work?
The process of making art allows people to express themselves. Art-making can take many forms, such as painting, collage, or sculpting. The therapist asks questions that the work elicits, such as how the person felt while creating their piece, or if any memories surfaced that they can discuss. The therapist will then work with the patient to process their experience, understand themselves better, and work toward change.

Does art therapy help with trauma?
Art therapy can be a valuable treatment option for those suffering from trauma. Traumatic experiences such as combat, rape, or childhood abuse can be so painful that articulating them can be too scary or painful; creating art allows people to express themselves without words, and tell their story in a different way. The physical nature of creating art can also help people feel rooted in the body, which may benefit those who feel disconnected from their body in the aftermath of trauma.

How long does art therapy last?
The duration of art therapy varies, but a common length for treatment is 10 to 15 weekly sessions. Some people may see improvement in just a few weeks, while others may choose to remain in therapy longer term. Patients should periodically discuss their goals with their therapist to make sure the two are aligned on process and progress.

What are the limitations of art therapy?
Art therapy is helpful for many people, but a limitation is that it doesn’t have as robust an evidence base as other forms of therapy, such as cognitive behavioural therapy or acceptance and commitment therapy. The evidence on art therapy is mixed; some research demonstrates its benefits, while other research suggests that it has little impact on patients.
