I specialise in Anxiety Disorders, Depression , Bereavement and Trauma (including PTSD) with over 9 yrs.
You may experience unexpected disruption, chronic conditions, major life upheaval, triggering of past experiences, bereavement, and any of these could create anxiety, anger, fear, phobias, or depression . Understanding could fall away, your support system could become unhelpful, anti-depressants may not be effective and your coping mechanisms may not work. You may feel overpowered by your circumstances and perhaps seek support and reinforcement as you experience distress. You may want your complex issues to be contained and get some tools and techniques to cope. Perhaps you may just like to confide in someone and share experience.

Reasons for coming to Therapy are unique to each person. You may have hopes and desires to be a better version of yourself, a willingness to change, to face the difficulties that may obstruct your personal growth. Life’s challenges may leave you anxious, stressed or depressed , feeling stuck, unable to move forward, alone with unwanted thoughts and feelings. Patterns in your life can keep you in a cycle of inner conflict and, at times, relationship conflicts, not knowing why. Talking to someone is a great way to start. Please don’t choose to fight this alone; it’s time to give yourself the time and space to explore.

I am an experienced and qualified psychotherapist working with individual adults. I work from an analytic perspective - our experience of the past, both conscious and unconscious influences our present. Feelings of depression , anxiety or a lack of direction or meaning in life need to be understood in this broader context. By looking at our whole life we can uncover who we really are and where we wish to go. I offer a safe space where troublesome, dark and difficult feelings can be examined and explored - by bringing them into the light we open up the possibility of facing and understanding them.

During difficult times, we all seem to be struggling with our mental health - I specialise in working with male issues such as anxiety, depression , eating disorders, addiction and psychosexual, but exclusively.
Asking for help is not an easy step to take. The prospect of sharing your thoughts and feelings with someone else is quite a leap of faith and if you have not experienced counselling before you may be wondering what to expect. I would like to offer you a comfortable space where we can talk and get to know each other; and when you are ready, we can start to explore and make sense of your thoughts and personal difficulties, working entirely at your own pace. By exploring our past experiences and relationships we can often gain a new and fresh perspective on our issues which can lead to a deeper understanding of ourselves.

Depression Counsellors
Depressive disorders are characterized by persistent feelings of sadness and worthlessness and a lack of desire to engage in formerly pleasurable activities. Depression is not a passing blue mood, which almost everyone experiences from time to time, but a complex mind/body illness that interferes with everyday functioning. It not only darkens one's outlook, it is commonly marked by sleep problems and changes in energy levels and appetite. It alters the structure and function of nerve cells so that it disrupts the way the brain processes information and interprets experience.

Despite feelings of hopelessness and worthlessness, depression is a treatable condition. It can be treated with psychotherapy. As with many illnesses, the earlier treatment begins, the more effective it can be and the greater the likelihood that recurrence can be prevented.

Psychotherapy addresses the thinking patterns that precipitate depression, and studies show that it prevents recurrence. Drug therapy is often helpful in relieving symptoms, such as severe anxiety, so that people can engage in meaningful psychotherapy.
