You’re someone who’s capable and caring, yet anxiety, trauma, or old patterns keep pulling you off-centre. Perhaps you’re navigating inner-child wounds, low self-esteem, habit loops or emotional overwhelm and you want lasting change, not quick fixes. I offer a safe, warm, non-judgemental space for adults, children and young people. My integrative, client-centred approach blends the insight of psychotherapy, the structure of counselling and the rapid-change tools of cognitive behavioural hypnotherapy to help you regain calm, clarity and confidence. We can all experience difficult times in our lives that throw us off course. Sometimes we can also feel that we are operating at 100 miles an hour but getting nowhere fast. Stressed and burnt out you can’t seem to focus properly and day to day living can feel too much, affecting your ability to cope. You can feel so alone and misunderstood, trapped within a vicious cycle of negative thinking and self-criticism. Anxiety, depression and low self-esteem can keep you in a dark place. However, with help and support you can begin to break free and focus on your own needs.

I am experienced in working with adolescents, adults and families across a wide range of psychological difficulties and have undertaken specific training in a variety of therapeutic approaches including; Schema therapy, EMDR (a specialist Trauma based therapy) Cognitive Behavioual Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy ( ACT), Narrative Therapy and Systemic Therapy.
Most difficulties come from feeling trapped, as if there’s no way out of the current situation... Low mood, anxiety, stress, behavioural issues all stem from feeling stuck and feelings of shame, guilt or avoidance get layered on top leading to a feeling of pressure. Therapy is about trusting someone to help you find a way forwards, I can do that.

Starting therapy can be a big step, and it’s normal to feel nervous or unsure about what to expect. My goal is to create a safe, welcoming space where we can take things at a pace that feels right for you. During our sessions, we’ll explore what’s happening for you, and i’ll listen to understand your experiences. Collaboration is key in my approach- I believe in working side by side so that you feel empowered and an active part of our journey together.

In my sessions, I use ACT, EMDR, and mindfulness-based approaches to support clients in managing anxiety, strengthening relationships, and building self-confidence.
With over 11 years of clinical experience, I work with Turkish-speaking children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. Life can sometimes feel overwhelming with intense stress, anxiety, or relationship difficulties. Living in another country can make it even harder to find a safe space where you can truly express yourself. At this point, having a therapist who speaks your own language can make a meaningful difference.

I work in an integrative way, drawing on DBT, CBT-informed, trauma-focused, narrative, psychodynamic and ACT approaches.
I am a HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist with over seven years of experience working with adults and young people experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma and relational difficulties. My clinical work focuses on how early relationships, trauma and life experiences shape emotional wellbeing, sense of self and the ways people relate to others. I also consider how culture, identity and family context influence how distress is experienced and how people make sense of their difficulties.

Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Counsellors
How does acceptance and commitment therapy work?
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy encourages a person to listen to their self-talk. A person’s inner dialog can be indicative of how they treat themselves. ACT also encourages self-compassion; this can lead to a better understanding of negative thought patterns and emotional states. This understanding can then lead the individual to needed behavior change.

What are the goals of acceptance and commitment therapy?
The goal of acceptance and commitment is to expand a person’s psychological flexibility, a trait that encourages an individual to live in the present moment and to accept all their thoughts, feelings, and emotions, even ones that are difficult such as sadness and anxiety. In ACT, this acceptance is congruent with the individual’s values and beliefs.

Does acceptance and commitment therapy work for depression?
Acceptance and commitment therapy is effective for depression because it allows the individual to view their discomfort and suffering differently. Depressive feelings about relationship heartaches, for example, are a part of life. A despondent person learns to let go of their struggles and instead view their painful thoughts and feelings with compassion. This will lead the individual toward positive change.

How long are people typically in acceptance and commitment therapy?
A typical acceptance and commitment therapy session is 50 minutes long with one session per week. Treatment for common problems such as anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties can last between eight weeks to four months. However, more severe cases may require more than one session a week and/or a longer time frame for treatment.
