I offer face to face sessions in a spacious and peaceful room.
It could be that you’ve become stuck worrying about the future, or you’ve got some big stuff in your head that’s getting in the way of moving forwards and it’s time to do something with it so that you can move on. Maybe there is fear and anxiety of making change, or you feel stressed and sad? Or maybe there is some unavoidable unhappiness in that is in the background of your life?

Sometimes it's really hard to work out why we feel the way we do. Sometimes we just don't understand how things are for us and the reasons we have got to the place we are at. It can be helpful to have someone to speak to and allow us time and honesty to work out what is happening. If you are looking for a genuine counsellor also with a sense of humour - this is allowed by the way - then please get in touch today and let's start working together.

I offer therapy sessions in-person or online via video.
I am an experienced psychotherapist with a strong track record helping patients within the NHS. I offer a safe, consistent setting in private practice to help patients make changes that are not as easily achieved in time-limited therapy. I practice psychodynamic and psychoanalytic therapy, which sees conscious difficulties in our lives as solutions to unconscious problems. It helps with common mental health problems, like anxiety and depression, including trauma, but allows for a deeper appreciation of our internal world to alleviate our everyday disquiet in profound and subtle ways, almost like a volume control being turned down.

Hi, I'm Tina and I work using the Person-Centred Approach offering one to one counselling, in a non-judgemental and non-directive way. I advocate this theory as I enjoy helping people realise their potential and become who they want to be! This particularly helps those who are drawn to exploring their own thoughts and feelings. Counselling is not about ‘fixing’ problems as such, it is about changing your understanding and view of the problems, enabling you to work towards living in a way that you find more satisfying.

Experiencing unwanted, anxious feelings that are getting in the way of how you live each day? Unhappy in your closest relationships and looking for more? Questioning your ability to go to work and fulfil the job you're expected to do? Anxious about how you're going to cope with all that's coming your way? Thoughts from things in the past resurface reminding you of things you'd rather forget? Questioning yourself and going over and over what to do, how things could have been different, will life ever be ok again? Life going OK then something happens? Wondering who you can talk to? Who'll have the time to listen? Who can help?

In today’s world a more dynamic and flexible service offering psychotherapy is needed Feedback I have received from clients indicates on line and flexible appointment times plus support telephone service outside of therapy sessions is valuable. This is what I offer to individuals and couples who want to change and explore behaviours/issues that are difficult to manage in day to day situations and relationships. Offering one to one sessions, group therapy ,psychodynamic family interventions and couples therapy can give a greater choice in therapeutic approach which suits the individual/s

I offer in-person sessions from my office in Croft Myl, just outside Halifax town centre.
I will work with you as a whole person, whatever issues you choose to bring to therapy. However, my current role counselling patients and families in a palliative care hospice has given me particular experience in supporting clients experiencing bereavement, pre-bereavement, and terminal illness. I am a Play therapist who works primarily with children aged 4 to 12. Children often show their need for help through their behaviour. They may be struggling to form friends, getting into trouble at school, falling behind in their learning etc. There are many reasons a child may benefit from therapy. These may include abuse, domestic violence, loss of a loved one (including a pet), bullying, divorce, illness. You may not even know why the child is struggling, just that they are. By the end of therapy I hope that the child will feel happier in themselves and will have developed more resiliance to be able to manage future events.

I am a qualified, person-centred counsellor, based in Halifax offering face-to-face, telephone or remote counselling sessions for adults and teenagers.
If you are looking for a safe, non-judgemental, welcoming space to explore what life has thrown at you then you have come to the right place. We all need time and a listening ear to help us deal with 'life' at some point. If you want to discover your true self then you have come to the right place. I came to private practice after many years working in post-16 education. In both careers I am privileged to help and be alongside people who are negotiating their next steps.

A warm welcome. It is my hope to be a compassionate companion offering you a safe and confidential space where you can be truly heard; where, together, we can gently explore the issues that have brought you here. Maybe you are coping with a bereavement or are having relationship difficulties. Maybe you are struggling with anxiety or depression. Maybe you would like to try and make some sense of an upsetting or traumatic experience. Maybe you can’t quite put your finger on it, but something just doesn’t feel right; you feel a little lost or stuck. Whatever has led you here, therapy can help you make positive changes and live well.

Currently offering face to face to face plus video and telephone sessions.
My specialty is working with men; as a man, I've thought a lot about what it means to be a man today. We’ve received unhelpful messages about masculinity, from TV, social media, etc. Men I’ve worked with asked how to be a good partner and Father? We’ve heard of toxic masculinity, been blamed for the patriarchy. It can be hard being a man. Am I supposed to be emotional or a provider? There are no certain answers, but there are mistakes to avoid and learning to be had. I’m 58, straight, cis gender man, with an interest in how to live a good life as a man, I feel I feel I have a dog in this fight.

Therapy is offered by Zoom, Skype and face-to-face sessions Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays between 10
Are you experiencing relationship problems, inner conflicts or life stresses? It can help to find someone who is empathic and skilled who offers a safe space in which to share these feelings and dilemmas. Sometimes the issues may have been a pressure in life for months or years, and become part of your personality. It is a relief to discover that there is a solution to be found in therapy. I am especially interested in helping clients who have experienced troubled, sometimes abusive, childhoods and early loss of significant attachment figures. Often later life experience brings back earlier trauma and distress.
