Hi my name is Sarah. I work with children and young people. My focus when working with children and young people is to find a way to work with them to help with all of their areas of difficulty, from emotional to school and the variety of difficulties they can experience. I find that children and young people feel most comfortable when they have routine, so the children will always have the same time and day each week, this helps build rapport. I specialise in inclusive therapies which means I can use a variety of techniques which will best support each child individually. From behaviour, emotion, learning, social difficulties,

I am a Play therapist who works primarily with children aged 4 to 12. Children often show their need for help through their behaviour. They may be struggling to form friends, getting into trouble at school, falling behind in their learning etc. There are many reasons a child may benefit from therapy. These may include abuse, domestic violence, loss of a loved one (including a pet), bullying, divorce, illness. You may not even know why the child is struggling, just that they are. By the end of therapy I hope that the child will feel happier in themselves and will have developed more resiliance to be able to manage future events.

Experiencing unwanted, anxious feelings that are getting in the way of how you live each day? Unhappy in your closest relationships and looking for more? Questioning your ability to go to work and fulfil the job you're expected to do? Anxious about how you're going to cope with all that's coming your way? Thoughts from things in the past resurface reminding you of things you'd rather forget? Questioning yourself and going over and over what to do, how things could have been different, will life ever be ok again? Life going OK then something happens? Wondering who you can talk to? Who'll have the time to listen? Who can help?

Or have you experienced a traumatic event that has left you feeling stuck with life feeling very different now? Or maybe you have a phobia or sleep problem that is impacting on your life. Cognitive behavioural therapy might be for you if you want to make sense of the problem you have and why you may feel stuck. People come to talk to me for lots of reasons. Sometimes there is a defined problem, it may be longstanding or recent; it may be related to a life event or something upcoming that is raising anxiety; there may be questions or difficulties in some key relationships, or at work; it may not be clear at all, but you are experiencing unease and wish to get to the bottom of why. Coming to talk to a trained and registered psychotherapist guarantees a secure, safe and confidential space in which to explore any or all of the above, alone, as a couple or in a family group.

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Clinical evidence based Mindfulness, aimed at effective treatment of most psychological issues. I am an Expert Witness and do court work (especially trauma).I aim to get desired results quickly (I am not a fan of long term therapy, but do offer long term support, if needed). I believe action oriented client, centered therapy works better than just "active listening, "which clients often find frustrating. Empowering people to help themselves is useful and reduces realiance on a therapist.

I offer a safe, non-judgemental and confidential space to explore the difficulties you are experiencing. I am passionate about helping people to understand themselves and their emotions, and supporting people to find a way through. Information for young people: Counselling is a safe meeting that we can have, where we talk about anything you would like. Nothing is out of bounds, wrong or right. Our conversations will be between us, but there may be times where I have to share things if we discuss things that are unsafe. We can try and understand things better and move forward together.

Counselling offers a space to talk about the issues in your life and there are many reasons for coming. Talking things through with a supportive and non-judgemental therapist can help you gain clarity and make sense out of where you currently find yourself. This in itself can provide some relief and open up the potential for positive change. Whether you are having difficulties at work, have anxiety or depression, have had a major life event/trauma, an addiction, experienced loss, or just need to make sense of your current situation I can offer you a warm, confidential and welcoming space where you feel safe, respected and supported.

I appreciate how difficult it is when you just don't feel ok, sometimes you know what is causing the problem other times you don't. At times in our lives we encounter emotions that become overwhelming causing anxiety, sadness or anger wether its work, health, marriage, children, parents, or bereavement - you don’t have to suffer this alone. Wether you are male, female young or mature there are issues that arise that are not easy to cope with but this is when I can help you most by unravelling the confusion. I understand its really difficult to seek help but its ok to not be ok, and there is always someone to turn too.

Over the years I have gained a broad range of experience working with people from all walks of life, and from many cultures resulting in a good understanding of the requirements of both private individuals and corporate clients. My client base is broad and includes everyone from factory workers to professional footballers and actors. I feel it is important that a therapist can relate to their clients and this is something I excel at.
