My path to psychotherapy began in my own suffering — years confronting addiction and eating disorders before I ever sat in the therapist's chair. That experience, alongside 25 years of clinical practice at Harley Street, shapes how I work. I am a Jungian analyst with over 20 years of EMDR experience, and hold a Doctorate of Professional Practice — the only clinician in Europe with doctoral research on male eating disorders. Hazelden Foundation trained. Former clinical supervisor at Promis Recovery Centre for five years.

I work with individuals and couples who feel stuck, overwhelmed or disconnected. Maybe you have spent years just getting on with things, telling yourself that other people have it worse, but your sleep, mood or relationships are starting to show the strain. Whatever brings you here, you are not alone. I work with individuals and couples who feel anxious, low, overwhelmed or stuck, often after long periods of holding it together for others, including those living with the impact of difficult or abusive experiences, complex trauma or CPTSD.

I mainly use CBT, DBT ( Dialectical BehaviourTherapy), CFT (Compassion Focused Therapy), and ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy).
I work with people struggling with anxiety, difficult relationships, stress, low mood, trauma, low self-esteem, loss, and adjustment to physical health conditions. I value working with clients to develop insight into patterns of problematic thinking and behaviour, and understand where these may have arisen from. As much as I believe in looking to the past to make sense of difficulties, I am also keen to support you to be future focused, so that life can feel “lighter” and your values restored. In addition to the above, I specialise in supporting professionals working in health and criminal justice systems.

I'm a psychotherapist with over 14 years of experience, originally trained in Person-Centred Therapy, further trained in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy ( DBT) and Mindfulness Self-Compassion.
Parenting can be one of life’s greatest joys, but it can also feel overwhelming, exhausting, and full of guilt or self-doubt. I work with parents who want to feel more in control of their emotions, more confident in their decisions, and more connected to their children and themselves.

I have BA (Hons) in Person-centred counselling, which has helped in my understanding of various issues we face in our daily lives, garnered during my training and working with various clients, and offering pastoral care to members of my local community. These issues may include but not limited to depression, anxiety, bereavement, stress, trauma, divorce, etc. I will work in an empathetic, non-directive and non-judgemental way to ensure you get what you need from counselling by openly discussing and making shared decisions with you, with the belief that different clients need different things at different times

Our emotions are designed to keep us safe. However, our minds don’t always respond the way we would like to, with many of us struggling to manage depression and/or anxiety. Sometimes presenting challenges in our relationships and other areas of our lives. Thankfully, we can adapt our brain, soothe, understand, and teach it how to respond more helpfully.

I work with individuals, couples, and families who may feel stuck in patterns that are hard to shift, whether that’s anxiety, low mood, trauma, relationship difficulties, or more longstanding and complex experiences. Many of the people I see are thoughtful and reflective, but feel overwhelmed or disconnected from themselves or others. Clients often come wanting a deeper understanding of their experiences, support through significant life stages, or help making meaningful and lasting change. I offer a collaborative, non‑judgemental space where we can think carefully together about what’s going on and how to help.

I work holistically and creatively, recognising that emotional wellbeing is rarely isolated from physical health, nervous system regulation, lifestyle, relationships, meaning and community. My approach integrates psychological understanding with complementary and collaborative therapies where appropriate, creating support that is individualised rather than ‘one-size-fits-all.’ Alongside my therapeutic work, I have a growing interest in developing innovative and collaborative models of wellbeing that bridge talking therapy with integrative health approaches. Modern mental health support must move beyond symptom management.

Dialectical Behaviour (DBT) Counsellors
Who is DBT for?
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) is designed for people who experience extreme emotional suffering because they lack the skills of emotion regulation and distress tolerance. The basic affliction can underlie a wide range of conditions, from borderline and other personality disorders to PTSD and treatment-resistant anxiety and depression. The therapy is helpful to those whose emotional reactivity is so intense it is disruptive to everyday functioning and leads to frequent crises.

Why do people need DBT?
The ability to regulate emotions is a core psychological skill that enables people to function in life and pay attention to the world outside themselves; it is consistently associated with well-being. DBT is designed to help people learn how to manage and regulate their emotions. Originally developed to treat people with borderline personality disorder whose extreme emotional suffering led to self-harming behaviour and suicide attempts, the therapy is now applied to other conditions involving emotion dysregulation, particularly when other treatments have failed.

What happens in DBT?
Individuals meet weekly with their therapist to discuss their experiences relating to moods, behaviour, and skills. Using checklists they maintain, they review emotional experiences and positive practices they engage in. The diaries help individuals discern what led up to a specific problem encountered, this is followed by discussion of the consequences of their actions. In addition, individuals may meet in class-like small groups to learn skills such as mindfulness, emotion regulation and distress tolerance.

How long does DBT last?
Because it is intended to establish long-lasting behavioural change among those with persistent problems, DBT is designed to last six months to a year. DBT includes both weekly sessions of individual therapy and weekly skills-training sessions conducted in small groups. Studies of DBT have documented improvement within a year of treatment, particularly in controlling self-harmful behaviour; nevertheless, individuals may require therapy for several years.
