My main aim in life has and always will be to help people find peace and joy in their lives. This can be very difficult to source when life today is so challenging. Whether it is financial worries, loss of a loved one, disability, illness, family issues, bullying, work pressure, trauma, (amongst others) all can induce stress, depression and anxiety. Besides a wealth of life experience, I have a degree in Integrative relationship counselling, which enables me to work in a way to suit each individual and their issues. We will work together at your pace to find a healing path.

I most frequently use Schema Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR; intensives also offered), Attachment-focused EMDR, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and targeted body ( somatic) focused approaches to support clients towards their goals.
I’m a Clinical Psychologist offering a warm and supportive space for those times when it feels like something needs to change and we could really use a hand. Perhaps on paper it looks like we have it all figured out but underneath we don’t feel happy. Or, we have goals we want to achieve but self-doubt, worry or other barriers leave us feeling paralysed. Sometimes the distress call is from our bodies – we are burnt out, stressed or struggling with a health condition. And sometimes events from the past feel like they are consuming our present, or we find ourselves repeating patterns we don't feel work but seem hard to escape.

My work blends person-centred practice with other models including Gestalt, mindfulness, somatic awareness and insights from other disciplines.
Striving to appear capable and together on the outside, yet privately feeling tired, unsettled, or lacking a sense of peace? Perhaps you’re longing for more than just coping - wanting life to feel more meaningful, connected, and aligned with who you really are. Many people describe feeling caught in repetition or constant striving, while losing touch with purpose, direction, or themselves. You might be questioning a role, a relationship, or a boarding school past, sensing a gap between how life looks and how it feels inside. Often, it’s not a single crisis, but a growing sense that something in your life needs attention or change.

If you’re here, you may be carrying the weight of past experiences, or finding that substances have become a way to cope, manage, or get through the day. These patterns often develop because we are struggling. They can feel overwhelming, isolating, or difficult to change on your own. My therapy approach is compassionate, collaborative, and paced according to your needs. Together, we can work to understand what’s beneath your challenges, build healthier ways of coping, and support meaningful change.

If you’re investigating psychotherapists right now, it’s likely something in your life isn’t working. It may be that you’re struggling with feelings of depression, anxiety or low self-esteem. Perhaps you’re having difficulties in your relationships, or your work is not fulfilling you. You might be carrying painful memories from the past that you’re unable to let go of and these experiences are now preventing you from leading the life you wish for yourself. Perhaps your coping mechanisms are not working or have become destructive, or maybe you feel there is something more to life, but you don't know what that something is.

Are you used to performing at a high level, while feeling overwhelmed or exhausted underneath? You might be used to pushing through, while feeling burnt out, stuck, or hard on yourself beneath the surfaceI work with high-achieving professionals and others in demanding roles who are used to pushing through, yet feel burnt out, stuck, or caught in patterns they can’t shift. You might notice overthinking, a strong inner critic, or difficulty slowing down even when you need to. I offer online therapy across the UK, helping you understand what’s driving these patterns and feel steadier, more resilient, and more like yourself again.

Somatic Counsellors
How does somatic therapy work?
Somatic therapy is a form of treatment that focuses on how the body and mind are interconnected. In this approach, physical symptoms are addressed because they may in fact signal emotional distress. Somatic therapists combine mindfulness, talk therapy, breathwork, yoga, dance, and physical manipulations of the body to help patients become more attuned to what their body is telling them.

Is EMDR a somatic therapy?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a form of somatic therapy, as it incorporates mental and physical principles. EMDR involves remembering a traumatic experience while allowing one’s eyes to track a side-to-side visual stimulus from a therapist. This lateral eye movement is believed to diminish the painful power of the memory so that it can be discussed with a therapist.

Is somatic therapy evidence-based?
Somatic therapy has been researched and studied, and some forms of somatic therapy are found to be effective in treating a wide range of conditions. Because somatic therapy encompasses many techniques, some, such as EMDR and meditation, have been studied more than others.

What is somatic trauma therapy?
Somatic trauma therapy is based on the idea that when people experience trauma, they can become stuck in the “freeze” part of a “fight, flight, or freeze” response. In this state, trauma can manifest itself both mentally and physically—through tension in the muscles, anxiety, and stress. Popular forms of somatic trauma therapy include EMDR, sensorimotor therapy, and somatic experiencing.
