My journey into counselling began as a personal quest for healing . Through that journey, I discovered a profound passion for supporting others to navigate their own paths towards healing and resilience. In my practice, I offer a safe , supportive space where trauma survivors can explore their experiences, express their emotions, and embark on a journey of self-discovery and empowerment. With empathy and understanding, I walk alongside my clients as they work through the complexities of trauma, offering support, guidance, and evidence-based techniques to facilitate healing and growth.

You’ve been holding a lot for a long time- family, expectations, relationship difficulties, trauma, work - and on top of that, you’re tired of feeling like you have to explain your culture, background or faith before people “get” you. Maybe you’ve tried to open up before and ended up feeling judged, misunderstood, or like you had to hide parts of yourself. It’s exhausting, and you just want a space where you can turn up and be accepted and understood. Many clients tell me they appreciate that they don’t have to “translate” themselves here or leave parts of who they are at the door.

I offer a gentle, safe, supportive, confidential and non-judgemental space to explore a wide range of challenges that might feel unsettling to discuss with the outside world. We can all have difficulties in everyday life and encounter problems that we simply find hard to cope with alone. You may feel worried, anxious, low, confused, isolated or may be experience difficulties in relationships. You may be suffering from feelings of low self esteem or low self confidence. You may have been diagnosed with anxiety, generalised anxiety disorder, depression, or maybe you are just feeling sad. When these feelings and thoughts persist and become overwhelming it may be difficult to know which way to turn.

It is difficult to stay on course throughout our lives. As a behavioural psychologist and psychotherapist, I understand why some people come to therapy when they feel they have lost the sense of who they are by bending into who they think their partner, boss or parents need. Others may come feeling unable to handle a sudden traumatic event or circumstances that have slowly built for years. Whatever difficulties have brought you to this point, I will create a warm, understanding and calm place for you to share them and begin to leave some of them behind. I focus on four areas anxiety, mediation, infidelity and life transitions.

You might look like you’re doing fine — you keep things together, show up for others, and push through. But inside, something feels off. Maybe you feel stuck, restless, or disconnected from yourself, unsure what’s next or why you can’t quite feel at ease. Therapy with me is a space to slow down and reconnect with what’s really going on beneath the surface. We’ll explore your thoughts, emotions, and the way your body holds tension and patterns from the past — not to stay there, but to help you release what no longer serves you and create space for something new.

Hi I’m Seth from Light Minds Therapy. I have over fifteen years experience in frontline NHS mental health services, helping many people to make sense of their problems and make lasting, positive changes. Often the legacy of the past and the stress of the present leave us coping in ways that are unhelpful. I can work with you to help you overcome any limiting patterns, make room for painful feelings and find ways for you to thrive in a challenging world. I can help you with many areas but have particular experience with self-esteem, self-criticism, childhood trauma, anxiety in all its forms and difficulties in relationships.

It takes courage and strength to reach out for support, and I never take that lightly. I’m always grateful to be the person you choose to trust on your journey. Counselling is more than just talking. it’s a journey toward deeper understanding, healing, and personal growth. In a world where emotional struggles often go unnoticed or unspoken, counselling offers a calm, safe, and non-judgmental space to explore your inner world. It’s a space where you’re given time to gently explore past wounds, recognize and understand unhelpful patterns, and begin to reconnect with parts of yourself that may have been silenced or forgotten.

My approach to therapy is quite simple, if you are struggling with psychological or bodily issues you will want to feel safe in exploring them. I offer a place of safety and confidentiality to find meaning to these difficulties. The therapeutic relationship we develop will allow you to feel heard and for you to express aspects of yourself that have been hidden or you don’t feel great about. You might struggle in relationships or you are using less than helpful ways to cope. You might be suffering in silence or appear to others to be fine but your not. Talking in confidence without judgement can often alleviate some of this.

Narcissistic Personality (NPD) Counsellors

What type of therapy is best for narcissistic personality disorder?

Narcissistic personality disorder (NPD) is best treated with talk therapy, which could involve cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, schema therapy, gestalt therapy, or similar approaches. A therapist will help a patient uncover the feelings that may drive their behavior and discover how to engage with themselves and those around them with greater empathy and understanding, fewer demands, and less defensiveness, with the goal of developing a more authentic sense of self that enables healthier relationships.

How do therapists treat NPD?

By developing a strong therapeutic relationship, and continually focusing patients on relationships, community, and connection, a therapist, through talk therapy, may be able to help someone with NPD change. In sessions, a therapist will help an individual achieve relief from their current stressors, including the treatment of co-occurring conditions such as anxiety or depression. A therapist may also help an individual to recognize unhealthy coping mechanisms, learn new ways of interacting with others, and eventually become able to feel and display empathy.

Can a narcissist be cured with therapy?

Therapy can be effective. After a serious setback or great loss, someone with NPD may be forced to recognize that they are not immune to life’s challenges. That can spur feelings of melancholy and depression that lead them to seek professional help. Once an individual decides to seek help, they have already taken a step that the majority of those with NPD never will. Still, people with NPD often quit therapy as they naturally resist feeling vulnerable, being challenged, or admitting to flaws.

How can you get narcissistic personality disorder treatment for someone?

It is notoriously difficult to convince someone with NPD to seek help. With their feelings of superiority, they may be unlikely to recognize or acknowledge that they have a problem, or that their problem is narcissism. Sometimes, they are aware that they are arrogant and that others resent them but they don’t see it as a problem because they are convinced of their superiority. People with NPD have trouble maintaining relationships, but family members and others who do feel close to them, and whose presence they value, may be able to encourage them to seek therapy.
