I believe that any struggle in your life has a reason. I focus on uncovering the root of these challenges rather than just easing symptoms. By exploring the experiences and traumas that shape your thoughts and emotions, we work together to understand, accept, and heal. My goal is to create a safe and supportive space where you can process your experiences at your own pace. I see true success not just as feeling better temporarily, but as reaching a point where past wounds are acknowledged, resolved, and integrated into your life in a healthy way. I guide you through healing with ca I guide you through healing with care and empathy.

If you’re struggling with anxiety, depression, low self esteem, relationships with others, feeling isolated or alone in relationships, feeling never ‘good enough’ or battling with addiction this could be due to your attachment pattern. How we view ourself in relation to others and the world around us affects us in everyday life. I am a qualified BA (hons) Integrative Counsellor and supervisor. I draw from different theories such as Humanistic, CBT and Psychodynamic including attachment, which enables me to tailor every session specifically for each individual. I have many years experience working for the NHS and in private practice.

My aim is to help you make sense of your feelings, thoughts, and patterns of relating, especially those that may feel confusing or repetitive. Together, we can explore not only what is happening in your life now, but also how past experiences and relationships continue to shape your present. Within this trusting and confidential space, you may begin to notice connections between past and present, understand the roots of emotional pain, and discover new ways of being. By paying gentle attention to what unfolds between us, we can bring what is unconscious into awareness, opening the possibility for change and growth.

Hello there! I'm Sam and I've 20 years' experience in mental health and a lifetime of experience managing ADHD! Many practitioners have no lived experience of ADHD and ASD, making it hard for neurodiverse people to feel truly understood. As a professional neurodiverse woman, I have found that services for people like me are hard to find and so I offer ADHD and Autism specific counselling with life skills (like coaching but specifically related to ADHD symptoms) in a non - judgemental and shame free environment, no matter your background. Please check your spam folder for my email replies if you have used the contact button!

My clients often want to feel more in control, more connected, and more at peace in their daily lives. They’re seeking a space where they can be themselves without judgment, and where their culture, identity, and story are respected. If that sounds like you, I’d love to hear from you. You might be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply unsure where to turn next. Maybe you're navigating anxiety, grief, ADHD, or the weight of past trauma and you're looking for someone who truly listens and understands.

Sometimes life just feels too heavy. We can find ourselves worrying, feeling stuck, or battling with fears we don’t quite understand. I didn't become a counsellor because life was easy. I became a counsellor through my own journey with addiction, trauma, ADHD, and never feeling good enough. I know what it’s like to live in fear, hate yourself, to feel angry, sad, lost and overwhelmed. Therapy only started to work when I found someone who really got me—no judgment, just real connection. Now I offer that space to others. I’m down-to-earth, honest, and I do things differently. I am passionate about my job and am very real. If life feels too much, you don’t have to face it alone. I’m here to walk alongside you as you find your way back to yourself, heal and grow.

Alcohol Use Counsellors

Are there specific medications for alcohol use?

There are oral medications approved to treat alcohol use disorder—such as disulfiram, acamprosate, and naltrexone, which also comes in an injectable form. These medications do help people reduce their drinking as well as avoid the problem of relapse. Naltrexone helps reduce cravings, disulfiram can make a person feel sick when they drink, and acamprosate may help ease symptoms like poor sleep and anxious feelings.

How do alcohol recovery or rehabilitation programs work?

In inpatient programs, individuals live in a facility with other patients in recovery; in outpatient programs, individuals live at home. These facilities are staffed with healthcare professionals including physicians, nurses, psychologists, counselors, and psychotherapists. Staff can also include people who have recovered themselves, serving as mentors and guides. These programs may use abstinence, harm reduction, detoxification, psychotherapy, and other tools for recovery.

How do 12-step programs combined with psychotherapy work?

Members of 12-step programs help each other reach abstinence and work to maintain it. These programs promote complete change in the individual’s emotional, mental, physical, and even spiritual perspectives. Some programs require that new members attend 90 meetings in 90 days. Many people do attend these programs in conjunction with their work in psychotherapy; the combination of therapy along with 12-step can be extremely effective.

How does harm reduction combined with psychotherapy work?

According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, harm reduction prevents death, injury, disease, overdose, and substance misuse. People who choose harm reduction for alcohol use reduce the amount of alcohol they intake. It is not abstinence-based like a 12-step program, but combining harm reduction with psychotherapy proves to be effective for many people.
