I offer a calm, non-judgmental space where you don’t have to “perform” or be the strong one. Together, we’ll slow things down, understand what’s happening for you, and find practical ways to cope that actually fit your life. You don’t have to have the perfect words or a clear goal to start therapy. My approach is collaborative and down-to-earth — no jargon, just real conversations at your pace. I care passionately about my clients and our work together. As a qualified, integrative counsellor I am able to draw on a range of therapeutic approaches to tailor the session to your individual needs.

High performance can be incredibly rewarding - and incredibly demanding. I work with driven, ambitious individuals who care deeply about performing well - but want some support navigating the world of high-performance. They want to feel steadier and more confident under pressure, and to pursue meaningful goals without sacrificing their wellbeing in the process. I place equal importance on the wellbeing that makes high performance sustainable.

Are you and your partner caught in patterns that feel impossible to move away from? Repeated misunderstandings conflicts that never quite resolve, a growing sense of disconnection — or a crossroads where you're wondering whether to stay or go? I'm a systemic psychotherapist and family therapist with over 10 years' post-qualifying experience in the NHS and a range of other clinical settings, with specialist training in RLT couples therapy. I work with couples where ways of coping that once made perfect sense — perhaps learned in childhood or earlier relationships — have become obstacles to the intimacy and connection they want now.

My name is Jessica & I’m UK-trained youth sport psychologist for athletes who care deeply & feel stuck - and for the parents watching it all from the side-lines. Lately sport might look like: post-performance tears or silence, training brilliance that disappears on competition day, one mistake becoming “I’m a failure,” and a home full of worry, second-guessing, and “What do we try next?” If that sounds familiar, you’re exactly where you need to be. Make yourself comfortable and let me explain more about me and what my support can feel like.

Are you looking for a counsellor in SW or Online? Many of the clients I work with are navigating anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, people-pleasing, or the impact of past trauma. Others come to therapy during a life transition—moving countries, changing careers, ending or starting relationships, or returning to themselves after a difficult period. They often describe feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or uncertain about who they are and what they want. If this sounds familiar, you’re not alone.

Helping Businesses Perform Under Pressure For many years, I have worked with athletes, coaches, and performers to help them achieve consistent high-level performance in demanding environments. While the setting may be different, the psychological challenges faced by business leaders and teams are often remarkably similar. Elite athletes must manage pressure, maintain focus, recover from setbacks, adapt to changing circumstances, and perform when the stakes are highest. The same principles apply in modern organisations, where leaders and employees face increasing demands, uncertainty, competition, and rapid change.

As a psychologist specialising in performance, my approach is centred on the belief that every individual has the potential for growth, self-awareness, and fulfilment. I focus on creating a safe, empathetic environment where we can explore your thoughts and feelings, particularly as they relate to your well-being, and overall life balance. We will collaborate together to discover your needs and find ways to support them. Through this shared experience, I found clients experience more fulfillment in a way that is true to themselves.

You might look “together” on the outside, but inside, you feel tired, anxious, or stuck. It can feel like you’re living in a world you don’t quite fit into, wondering how everyone else seems to manage what feels so hard for you. You hold high standards, care deeply for others, yet struggle to offer yourself the same compassion. Perhaps there’s burnout, people-pleasing, or concerns about body image. You want to feel calmer and more like yourself. Together, we’ll slow things down, make sense of your patterns, build self-trust, and help you connect to who you really are, not just who you feel like you should be.

Is performance anxiety getting in the way of your sporting achievements? Perhaps you are able to perform in training, but find yourself overthinking when it comes to competition. This can be incredibly frustrating and upsetting. It sometimes feels like you are ‘getting in your own way’. I support clients struggling with performance anxiety to regain confidence, adjust thinking patterns and once again find enjoyment in their sport.

Sports Performance Counsellors
How does sports psychology work?
Sports psychology helps athletes identify and overcome challenges, such as perfectionism or a fear of failure, and improve key mental skills, such as confidence or concentration. By applying principles and techniques from psychology, such as goal-setting, visualisation, positive self-talk, and emotion regulation, sports psychologists help athletes improve their performance on the field and their well-being overall.

How long does treatment for a sports-related problem take?
The duration of sports psychology treatment depends on the athlete’s individual challenges, goals, the complexity of the interventions used, and even on the length of the season. A performance anxiety issue may be treated with a short-term treatment, like Cognitive behavioural therapy, while issues such as depression, substance abuse, or severe anxiety may require longer-term treatments.

How effective is treatment for sports performance problems?
Sports psychology has been shown to improve performance and help athletes manage their emotions. Sports psychology can be effective in boosting performance, team dynamics, and injury rehabilitation. Over the past decade, nearly every professional sports team in every major sport has added a sports psychologist to its staff. Many colleges have done the same, and even some high school programs have done the same. Olympic hopefuls may consult with sports psychologists starting in elementary school.

What are the limitations of sports psychology?
Sports psychology may have several limitations. Every athlete is unique and may respond differently to sports psychology treatments. Therapy can help an athlete reach their potential; it can help athletes cope with injury and pain, but it cannot change the physical limitations that may be affecting an athlete’s performance.
