Deciding to attend therapy is a difficult decision. It is important that you find a therapist with whom you can feel comfortable, I aim to provide you with that experience. I believe there is no position or age from which positive change cannot be made and will support you in the process. Alternatively, if you have a goal that you wish to achieve, either personally or professionally, it is vital you find someone who can bring energy, enthusiasm and pragmatism to your sessions. I also have experience in the corporate space and provide seminars on a number of issues and coaching for groups.

Do you feel like life should feel better? Are you in a dark place and trying to find the light? My name is Shanice and I am an REBT therapist, but a human first. I’ve experienced anxiety and depression and understand how hopeless struggling with your mental health can feel. I help people to find hope and manage life better. One of the ways I do this is by helping you to identify the underlying belief contributing to your pain and going through a structured process of changing that belief.

Hello and Welcome, Life can indeed be difficult at times. Many are struggling with mental health in ways that are no longer manageable. Our past and present hurts, our unprocessed feelings can rise to the surface. We find ourselves thinking, feeling and acting in ways that do not reflect who we want to be. Some of us have Grief, Trauma or Addiction that we just can’t seem to work through. As a Senior Accredited Psychotherapist with a PHD(Hon), Master Degree and EMDR(Accredited), I've seen thousands come through my door, with various presenting issues and undergo genuine transformation, healing and leave with hope for the future.

I am Relate trained specialising in Relationship and Sex Therapy. In order to keep our relationships healthy we need to attend to them to ensure they remain respectful, trusting, sexual and happy. Because of the busyness of day to day life, we can easily disconnect from our partners without realising it leading to a lack of communication, conflict, affairs, and dissatisfaction. When married, or when children are involved, these problems become even more complex. It might even be that since the country's lockdown, you are now realising there are issues in your relationship. Now could be a good time to resolve these.

Hello, I'm Rike. Thank you very much for taking the time to read my profile. Sometimes life has this way of throwing challenges in our path that are unexpected and can leave us feeling vulnerable, helpless, out of control or simply puzzled about our own feelings and thoughts. Talking to someone in a safe and confidential space can enable us to understand ourselves better, move forward with greater self-awareness and self-worth and help connect all the pieces. If you are curious to explore any challenges or difficulties and would feel most safe in a judgement-free and confidential space, then I may be able to help and support you.

All of us, at some point in our lives, may experience challenges that could lead to anxiety and depression or ‘stuckness’. These feelings usually stem from not knowing how to communicate needs and emotions or process deeply stressful thoughts and experiences in a way that can bring relief. This is the time to reach out for therapy where you can learn (and unlearn) those behavioural patterns that stop you from becoming the best possible version of yourself. You can develop coping strategies that help you to become a happier and more fulfilled individual now and in the future.

You may be a high-responsibility professional or partner who looks composed, yet feels anxious, reactive, low or emotionally drained. Perhaps you keep repeating the same cycles in relationships, self-criticism or work stress. You want calm clarity, stronger self-trust and practical tools that fit a busy life — with change that lasts.

Are you someone who feels held back in life? You want something different and you've tried - but you keep hitting the same hurdles. Now you're exhausted, telling yourself you can't, or that it's just not going to work for you. So you hide, make yourself small, and second-guess everything, while you wait to feel ready. But that moment never comes. That inner critic tells you you’re not enough, you’re not ready, or that you’ll fail anyway. Feeling stuck doesn't mean you're not ready, and feeling "not good enough" doesn't make it true.

You may feel stuck in cycles of anxiety and shame, or perhaps long-standing OCD is making daily life difficult. You might be navigating a painful transition—loss, the end of a relationship, divorce, or stepping into motherhood—and finding that old fears or childhood feelings are resurfacing. When life or identity shifts, everything can feel upside down, overwhelming, or uncertain. If you would like to explore what is happening, build self-acceptance, and feel more grounded and connected, get in touch.

Rational Emotive Behaviour (REBT) Counsellors
What should I expect from rational emotive behaviour therapy?
The therapist will work with the individual to recognise rigid thought patterns that sabotage goals and set them back. The objective is to identify, challenge and reframe negative thoughts and enable an individual to understand that they possess control over their emotions and their behaviour. This therapy often emphasises the use of reasoning and self-direction.

Is rational emotive behaviour therapy effective?
Rational emotive behaviour therapy is evidence-based and is highly effective. It helps a person reframe self-defeating or catastrophising thoughts thoughts and gives them tools to approach a range of circumstances they may encounter post-therapy as well. REBT can bring a person lifelong change, with higher levels of satisfaction, less stress, as well as positive emotional and behavioural habits.

When do I know if I need treatment with rational emotive behaviour therapy?
If an individual’s mind is filled with rigid, unreasonable thoughts that dwell in negativity, they may feel stuck. A rational emotive behaviour therapist can help a person examine and change their thinking patterns as well as their behaviour. This concise and concrete therapy can provide an individual with the coping skills needed for a healthier and more constructive life.

How long does rational emotive behaviour therapy last?
REBT therapy treatment is short-term and focused in nature. It can last for a set number of sessions, ending within a few weeks or months. Like any type of therapy, however, sessions depend on the individual, as well as the severity of their condition or problem. The individual may wish to ask the therapist about typical progress and how long they expect treatment to take.
