When we try to surpress strong emotions, they have a nasty habit of impacting on our lives in other ways through our behaviours. We can try to ignore them or numb them but they are still there. After a while the pressure grows and it starts to impact on those around us, our jobs, our families. You may feel alone and isolated and struggling to find the answer.

I know that life has become really challenging and difficult to cope with. The stress and pressure we face has affected our health, work, relationships and mental well-being. Despite all our best efforts to manage, nothing seems to work. It’s during these times that having someone qualified and experienced to talk with and support us becomes a much-needed relief – especially as some of the difficulties we are going through are deep rooted and stem from painful childhood experiences like changing schools 6 different times, abuse, a bike accident and not having many friends. This is something I can personally identify with.

I work with adults who are navigating the impact of complex or overwhelming experiences, often feeling stuck, disconnected, or unsure how to move forward. Many of the people I see are from culturally diverse backgrounds or LGBTQ+ communities, and may be carrying experiences of identity conflict, or long-standing emotional strain. Therapy offers a space to slow down, make sense of what’s happening, and begin to relate to yourself with more clarity and self-compassion. I offer a free, no-pressure 15-minute phone consultation to see if we're a good fit. Please text or email me to find a time this week.

You might be feeling stuck or wondering whether you've made the right decision. You might not even know what the right decision is. You might even want to explore who it is that you are, why you do the things that you do, or why you're in the situation that you're in. If that is you, then consider what it is that counselling and psychotherapy might be able to do in helping you to consider all these questions that you might have about yourself and your situation.

There are many reasons that bring people to therapy and the hard part is trying to find the right therapist for you. There are so many of us and some of the terms we use might be even more confusing and weird sounding. It doesn't have to be like that though. As a fully qualified and registered psychotherapist i see therapy as an opportunity to talk about whatever is troubling you in total confidence. As your therapist i won't be telling you what to do, however we will explore the conflicts and dilemmas you have and really look at what it means to "BE" you and have a greater understanding of your unique way of being in the world.

I help men who sense that something isn't quite right with sex, desire or intimacy — and aren't sure where to turn. Perhaps sex has become a source of stress rather than pleasure, or desire has faded and it's creating distance in your relationship. Maybe you're dealing with erection difficulties, questions about your sexuality, or worries about porn. Whatever has brought you here, I'm here to help.

I am a neuro-affirmative therapist with experience of working with ASD (autism spectrum disorder/condition), ADHD and OCD. I also have a history of experience with these conditions within my close family. I trained at The Minster Centre and CPPD Counselling School from which I have an Advanced Diploma in Humanistic Integrative Counselling. As an integrative therapist, I don't follow one modality of therapy, but have my own integration of modalities that chime with me and my clients.

Therapy isn't just for working through complex issues—it can also be a space to pause, reflect, and reconnect. In the fast pace of modern life—whether managing a business, balancing work and family, or navigating creative or personal challenges—it's easy to lose your footing. I offer a grounded, supportive space where you can slow down, gain clarity, and explore whatever's on your mind.

Something has to change — you know that. Maybe anxiety has been with you so long it feels like part of who you are. Maybe depression has flattened your world. Maybe you're burned out, in a relationship that's losing its footing, or facing a life change that's knocked you sideways. The adults, couples, and older adults I work with come to me carrying anxiety, depression, stress and burnout, trauma, bereavement, relationship issues, life transitions, self-esteem, career pressures, and men's mental health concerns. I also work with veterans and emergency service workers. Reaching out is the hardest part — and you've already done it.

I work with highly driven professionals, entrepreneurs and people in demanding roles, often in tech, finance, law, media and the arts. Many are thoughtful, reflective and used to holding things together externally, while privately feeling tense, stuck, burnt out, emotionally shut down, or caught in patterns they understand clearly but cannot seem to change.

Is therapy for men different than it is for women?
Therapeutic treatments and types are the same for men as they are for women, with the same protocols followed and the same strategies employed. Discussing one’s feelings and emotions is an integral part of most therapies, and some men find doing so more challenging. Therapists can help clients through the process; some specialize in treating men for this reason.

How do you encourage a man to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either himself or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.

How can men prepare for therapy?
Men can prepare for therapy by approaching the process with an open mind, being willing to talk about their challenges, and giving treatment the time to work. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. It can be useful for men who struggle to recall their emotional states to write down notes between sessions about their response to a given event or how they were feeling at a particular time.

What should men know about the process of therapy?
One of the most common reasons men don’t seek therapy is the notion that there’s something wrong with them if they do. Men should know that just because they’re seeking therapy doesn’t mean they’re mentally ill or damaged in some way. In the same way people work on their bodies through exercise or a craft through practice, therapy can be a way to improve the mental and emotional skills needed to be productive and effective partners, employees, and people in all realms of life.
