Seeking therapy can be a scary decision. I do believe however that the issues prompting you to come to me have the potential to enable you to move into a new level of self-understanding. A key principle of my particular therapy - Psychosynthesis, suggests that the symptoms of our problems can indicate a deeper meaning or potential trying to emerge in our lives. Our work together will try to discover what that might be. To achieve this I offer a focused approach for a specific issue in short-term work or we can go into more depth for work in the longer term.

Life can bring us into contact with parts of ourselves that feel hard to name, carrying emotions, desires, identities, or experiences that don't fit neatly into the world around us. We’re often pushed from one demand to the next, stretched into shapes that don’t feel authentic, urged to want more, achieve more, be more, and somehow be perfect, no matter the cost.
Perhaps you're carrying shame about your sexuality or kink life, navigating the emotional landscape of a BDSM dynamic, or simply longing for a space where you don't have to edit yourself before walking in.

Using a compassionate, parts based approach (Internal Family Systems), we’ll uncover the deeper patterns driving your eating and build trust with the parts of you that have been trying to protect you all along.
You’re the one holding it all together for everyone else. But when it’s quiet, food becomes your secret comfort and your source of shame. You’re ready for something to change. On the outside, you look like you’re managing it all. But inside, food takes up far too much space: the overthinking, the overwhelming urges and the all too familiar regret. You’ve read the books, followed the plans, even white knuckled your way through 'just one more try', yet the cycle keeps pulling you back. It’s exhausting. Part of you longs for peace: to feel at home in your body, to eat without overthinking, and to stop this tug of war once and for all.

I am a Specialist Neurodiversity (ADHD & Autism) Relationship and Couples Psychotherapist, offering therapy and coaching to support partners navigating the challenges that ADHD and/or autism (ASD) can bring into their relationship. When one or both partners are neurodivergent, relationships can become filled with tension, misunderstandings, and emotional ups and downs. Differences in communication styles, emotional expression, organisation, and sensory or social needs can easily lead to conflict. Small issues can quickly turn into big arguments, and both partners can end up feeling exhausted, hurt, or alone.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) Counsellors
What is Internal Family Systems therapy?
Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a type of talk therapy that focuses on sub-personalities, or “families,” within a person, which may be made up of wounded parts and unpleasant emotions like anger and shame. These sub-personalities can come into conflict with each other and with an individual’s core Self, leaving the person feeling detached from positive traits such as the “8 C’s” of confidence, calmness, creativity, clarity, curiosity, courage, compassion, and connectedness. By healing a patient’s wounded parts, a therapist aims to restore balance and bring on positive change.
How does Internal Family Systems therapy work?
An IFS therapist will work with a patient to identify their particular sub-personalities, recognize the emotions powering them, and release them. By doing so, the patient should become more able to address any underlying problems their sub-personalities may have been trying to protect them from. Ultimately, a patient discovers ways to manage internal and external conflicts on their own, through techniques such as relaxation exercises, journaling, and making charts depicting the relationships between their core Self and their distinct parts.
Does Internal Family Systems therapy work?
IFS therapy has been shown to help people address conditions such as depression, anxiety, panic, fears and phobias, trauma, and substance use disorders. Some research has also found that it can help individuals deal with symptoms of physical health conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, such as pain, everyday functioning, depressive feelings, and low self-compassion. There are some conditions for which IFS treatment, specifically discussions of one’s “parts,” may be less appropriate, such as schizophrenia or other states that involve psychosis or paranoia.
How long does Internal Family Systems therapy take?
As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for IFS therapy. After becoming comfortable with a therapist and the core concepts of IFS, some patients quickly make progress. While experiences vary, most will find that it is a relatively longer-term therapy, involving months and sometimes years of sessions.
