The people who come to us arrive with the full range of adult difficulty — anxiety that has been wearing them down, depression, the after-effects of trauma, relationships that are not working, neurodivergent adults, LGBTQIA+ clients looking for genuinely affirming practice, and senior professionals carrying pressure they cannot put down anywhere else. What our team of more than 90 qualified counsellors and therapists offers is something specific: deliberate matching. You are not assigned to whoever happens to be available. You are matched to the practitioner whose training, specialism, and approach actually fit your needs.

I believe that true healing goes beyond coping skills. While I value practical tools for challenging moments, I'm most interested in helping you build a deeper relationship with yourself. My approach is psychodynamic, relational, and somatic — meaning I want to understand the full you: your history, your present, and your relationships. My ideal clients are ready to break recurring cycles, deepen their self-understanding, and untangle behaviours they've outgrown. I believe that our work is collaborative - you are the expert of your own experience. I hope to guide you to a truer understanding of yourself.

What brings someone to therapy? Sometimes it’s a general feeling that something isn’t right or needs to change, while for others, it’s a particular event or situation that has led to feeling stuck and overwhelmed. Difficult feelings may be related to a current/specific problem or there may be a sense that there has been a build-up of stresses or traumas over the years. I am trained in a range of psychological therapies which allows me to tailor my approach to your specific experience, needs and goals. I take a warm, compassionate and non-judgemental approach to my work, endeavouring to help you feel listened to and understood.

I work with children and young people, specialising in anxiety and OCD. I help them learn new skills and attitudes to improve their ability to handle difficult thoughts and feelings and do more of what matters to them and make more room for connection. Mental health challenges encroach on their lives, make them avoid and make their world smaller. They disconnect from themselves, the things they care about and the people that matter to them. They underestimate their strengths and resources, overestimate life’s challenges and get stuck. I regularly run group coaching programmes for parents, please enquire for details.

Choosing a therapist can be a stressful process, and it's difficult to decide which kind of therapy to try. Many people find it helpful to work with a therapist who has trained in more than one therapy, who can switch to a different therapy when needed, and who can tailor sessions according to your needs. My 16 years experience in supporting neurodivergent clients (with ADHD, autism, dyslexia, dyspraxia or other difficulties) led me to further training in 2021 in autism, and specialised CBT and ACT for ADHD and emotional regulation problems.

I offer a safe, non‑judgemental space where you can talk openly and feel understood. I’m a compassionate, person‑centred therapist trained in CBT, but I adapt to the person in front of me. I specialise in Anxiety, especially Panic, Worry and Phobia (including Emetophobia), and often support people who found pure CBT treatment packages too rigid. I also bring lived experience of depression, anxiety and ADHD, so I meet you with empathy and real understanding. It can be hard to find a therapist that you can click with, so the best way to see if we're a good fit is to have a free, no-obligations short chat over the phone.

Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) Counsellors
Do I need exposure and response prevention therapy?
Many clients decide to seek help for obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviours when these symptoms are distressing enough to disrupt everyday life. Any thoughts or behaviours that cause friction in close relationships are also worth addressing. In addition, the client’s symptoms don’t have to be severe for them to benefit from ERP therapy.

Is exposure and response prevention therapy part of cognitive behavioural therapy?
Exposure and response prevention is one specific type of CBT that focuses on behavioural change in response to triggering stimuli. It is related to exposure therapy but adds an additional component of preventing compulsive and harmful responses.

How long does exposure and response prevention therapy take?
While every patient is different, exposure and response prevention therapy typically lasts around 12 sessions, although some treatments can take longer. A therapist will determine if the treatment is complete based on how the client faces their fears, particularly the strongest ones. When a client feels less anxiety about stimuli that once evoked terror or distress, that is generally an indication that they are nearing the end of ERP therapy.

What are the limitations of exposure and response prevention therapy?
The most common pitfalls of exposure and response prevention therapy include not addressing a client’s core fears, allowing the client to avoid their most distressing stimuli, and using imaginary exposure when the client requires real-life exposure (and vice versa). ERP therapy is most effective when the client commits to the full course of treatment; if the client stops early or doesn’t practice what they have learned outside of therapy sessions, they are less likely to have successful outcomes.
