I understand that life can be overwhelming, but I’m here to guide you through those obstacles. My goal is to help you understand yourself more deeply through your journey with me, and get you back on track. My sessions are designed to unravel painful issues and provide you with effective tools to be able to heal. Taking action creates a sense of liberation and a feeling of letting go of the despair associated with insignificance and meaningless. It creates a feeling of growth and promotes the embracing of life and to exist with wonder and curiosity. I've been honoured to be endorsed by Her Grace the Duchess of Rutland and Source.

Hi, I’m Nicki. I’m an integrative psychotherapist and a registered member of the BACP. I work with a range of approaches to suit your needs and preferences.
Life can feel overwhelming at times—stress, trauma, or unresolved feelings can show up as anxiety, low mood, overthinking, issues seeming bigger than they are, sleep problems, or relationship challenges. You might feel anger, a sense of unfairness, struggle with past experiences that are still affecting you.
In therapy, we can explore these experiences together. I’ll help you understand yourself and patterns, manage emotional overwhelm, and find more balance and calm.

For more than 25 years I’ve supported adults through tough times, first in the NHS and now in private practice. Many people come to me because they’re feeling anxious, overwhelmed, “on edge,” low in mood, burnt out, or simply not like themselves. Others are dealing with panic attacks, overthinking, self‑esteem worries, relationship stress, or the impact of trauma and PTSD. Whatever you’re facing, therapy can help you feel calmer, clearer and more in control again.
I offer in‑person therapy just outside Newark‑on‑Trent and online therapy for people giving you flexibility to choose what feels right for you.

Sometimes it feels like everyone says that men have it easy. If that’s so, then why are three quarters of all suicides men? We've been taught to tough it out and to go it alone, and that it’s weak to ask for help when things get on top of us – even if there is someone we can turn to. I work with the issues around the difficulty of being male in a society that creates unrealistic and often contradictory ideals of masculinity that are impossible to live up to, and stops men connecting meaningfully with themselves and others.

Our relationship is key. I aim to get to know you over time, but for now, here's a bit about me so you can decide whether to make contact. My practice - www.blokecounselling.com - is for anyone who finds it easier to talk with a bloke. It also describes my style: straight-talking and free from buzzwords. Together, we can explore / understand what’s happened to you and the impact this might have had (rather than be told what’s 'wrong' with you). I've worked in The City (with lots of time in former Soviet Union) and was once described as a corporate, rugby-playing, beer-swilling pig. There's clearly a gentler side to me though.
