I work with adults who experience anxiety, depression, stress, and feelings of emptiness or disconnection, often rooted in complex or relational trauma.
Emotional difficulties are often linked to current life stress, but they can also be rooted in childhood experiences. Without realising it, we can repeat emotional patterns that once helped us cope but now limit us. Counselling supports lasting change by helping you to see how the past influences your present therefore enabling you to do life differently.

Goal: To make decisions based on their own authentic values without being controlled by the fear of judgment or disappointing others.
I help people who are tired of constantly trying to please others. If you're exhausted from always being the "good one" and afraid to say no, I can teach you how to set boundaries without feeling guilty. We work on enabling you to make decisions based on what you want, not external pressure. I offer sessions online and in-person in the UK.

With lived experience of anxiety, I offer therapy that is warm, compassionate and grounded in real understanding, with a particular interest in supporting those affected by Boarding School Syndrome.
My approach is warm, compassionate and gently challenging when it needs to be. I genuinely want therapy to feel like a space that fits you — not a one‑size‑fits‑all process. I understand that everyone is different, so I adapt the way I work depending on what each person needs.

These can prevent clear thinking and create worries or reactions, which can go on to cause anxiety, shame, confusion, or possible feelings of guilt that are hard to recognise or cope with.
Clients are individual and each have their own difficulties, so by being a trained integrative counsellor, I bring different counselling techniques together to create an individual tailored therapy for each client. By working in a safe space and in a non-judgemental way, we can explore feelings and gain an understanding that allows change to be possible.

Whether there are present life challenges or past experiences that trigger difficult feelings like stress, anxiety, low mood, or feeling overwhelmed, having someone who will listen to you with understanding and without judgment is the start of healing.
I am a qualified psychologist and an integrative counsellor. I’ve developed my counselling training to be a trauma informed counsellor and, in my work, I use three phase trauma model to support clients who experience trauma related symptoms like anxiety or panic attacks.

Some of the reasons families have worked with me include: support to understand and manage feelings of anxiety, depression or frustration; difficulties with emotion-regulation; and difficulties within family relationships, including parent-infant and parent-child relationships.
Many of us will have experiences of feeling stuck, lost or unsure of where to go next. I can work alongside you and your family to offer support when you’re finding it hard to identify a way forward. I do this through providing a safe, warm and non-judgemental therapeutic space and collaboratively identifying which psychological approach may be most helpful.

Sleep may be disrupted, anxiety constant, and the body may signal distress through pain, digestive issues, fatigue, or flare-ups that no amount of effort seems to resolve.
I support adults who have spent much of their lives holding it together, staying in control, and being self-reliant. These coping patterns once served a purpose but leave little room for rest or support. My trauma-informed work uses CBT, CFT, EMDR and EMDR Intensives, and is collaborative, carefully paced, and focused on helping your nervous system.

When should I seek treatment for anxiety?
Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

What are the most common types of treatment for anxiety?
Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioural therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioural Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?
The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?
Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
