Counselling gives you an opportunity to talk in confidence, with a skilled practitioner who will help you explore any issue or decision which is necessary to improve quality of life. Issues may include bereavement, loss, stress, anxiety, carer issues, abuse, relationship difficulties, sexuality, work related situations, depression , eating distress, trauma or lack of self-confidence. I believe we all internalise emotions at times, if we can remind ourselves to talk about our feelings with a professional, the rewards may prove to be enormous, helping you to find your sense of self and discover the quality of life you deserve.

Whatever you're going through, don't go through it alone. People come to therapy for all sorts of reasons: you may want support with a life event or transition, be experiencing anxiety or depression , be feeling dissatisfied in your relationships, or want to better understand yourself and what you want from life. I'm fascinated by the ways we search for meaning in our lives, and I know how amazing and transformative good relationships of all kinds can be, and how painful it can be when we struggle to find or keep them. I'm passionate about helping people learn to relate to themselves, others and the world in the fullest possible way.

I have a special interest in trauma, both childhood and event related incident trauma, relationship difficulties, work related stress and self development as well as the symptom relief such as dealing with anxiety and depression .
Hello I'm Nicole, a humanistic integrative psychotherapist, trainer and supervisor with many years experience of working with individuaIs, organisations and groups. Twelve years ago I set up Peel Psychological Consultancy, a private counselling service and training centre in the hope that I'd be able to create a space in which the client felt, respected, accepted, supported and understood. It is my belief that relational trauma lies at the heart of most psychological distress therefore, whilst I adhere to theory and research, it is the therapeutic relationship between client and therapist that I find most important and effective.

Coming to therapy might be a very scary and daunting thing to do, you may feel like you ‘shouldn’t’ need therapy. I understand this and I want you to know that you are not alone, from your first steps I will be with you. I can provide a compassionate environment so that you can feel, talk about and reflect on, your own emotional processes. Having gained understanding about yourself and felt your emotions, you will increasingly have the space to reflect and make choices. If you are suffering and feel unsure of how to change this, I invite you to contact me and take the first step towards change and self -acceptance.

Depression Counsellors
Depressive disorders are characterized by persistent feelings of sadness and worthlessness and a lack of desire to engage in formerly pleasurable activities. Depression is not a passing blue mood, which almost everyone experiences from time to time, but a complex mind/body illness that interferes with everyday functioning. It not only darkens one's outlook, it is commonly marked by sleep problems and changes in energy levels and appetite. It alters the structure and function of nerve cells so that it disrupts the way the brain processes information and interprets experience.

Despite feelings of hopelessness and worthlessness, depression is a treatable condition. It can be treated with psychotherapy. As with many illnesses, the earlier treatment begins, the more effective it can be and the greater the likelihood that recurrence can be prevented.

Psychotherapy addresses the thinking patterns that precipitate depression, and studies show that it prevents recurrence. Drug therapy is often helpful in relieving symptoms, such as severe anxiety, so that people can engage in meaningful psychotherapy.
