Sometimes, life throws things at us that feel too much to face alone. You may be seeking to better make sense of intense or confusing emotional reactions and to gain insight into your thoughts, feelings and anxieties. Together we can explore what’s happening and begin to make sense of it, and with greater understanding, you can start setting clearer boundaries, connect more fully with others, and make choices that feel aligned with who you are.

Our counselling offers help in addressing the difficult areas of your life. This might involve loss and grief, relationship troubles or problems at work. Equally, there are times when the cause is not clear but you still feel something is wrong. Colleagues, family and friends can be a great source of support but it's not always easy to confide in those closest to you. At times like these, talking to someone who is not personally involved can make a difference. A professional counsellor will listen to you without making judgments and can help you find new resources within yourself.

I have over 20 years experience working with children, their families and educators in a variety of roles including: nursery auxiliary, nanny, learning support assistant, ASD outreach worker, educational psychologist, coach and clinical supervisor, with additional specialisms in child and adolescent mental health, neurodiversity and the impact of trauma.
I work with parents as a catalyst for change - helping them shift from surviving, to thriving. My coaching weaves the science of child development and psychology into the unique intricacies of each family situation, providing a truly tailored, and therefore, effective approach. Are you worried about your child's behaviour, well-being or learning? Do you find yourself doing or saying things as a parent you wish you didn't? Do you feel uncertain about how best to approach an issue with your child? I can help.

What do most of us desire beneath it all? To feel good, whole and comfortable within ourselves and in the relationships around us. That state of peaceful being resides within all of us but often past traumas and challenging life experiences have shaped who we have become, influencing the story of who we now think we are. These beliefs often disconnect us from our true, best selves. Trauma happens, and often feelings of shame result. Living our lives wishing bad events never happened leave us feeling powerless but incorporating our past experiences in a way that does not debilitate, permits us to live with them, not ruled by them.

I wanted to give you a warm welcome and acknowledge your effort in taking this first step. It is not easy to start therapy; overcoming any fear you may feel, where to search, which therapist to choose… I would like to invite you to stop for a moment. Close your eyes slowly. Take a deep breath. How do you feel? Where in your body do you feel it? Sometimes life presents us with difficulties that can leave our world upside down. We can end up feeling anxious, depressed, angry, frustrated… Sometimes we just experience a lack of meaning and can’t connect with the life force that makes us feel alive.

Many of my clients are neurodivergent, whether already diagnosed or looking into it.
Being late diagnosed neurodivergent ( ASD and ADHD) has given me lots of life experience of living with "otherness", how I adapted to fit the world I lived in, and what it was like to rediscover who I am, and always was. These experiences allow me to be open to hearing your truth, and to help you explore what you really need to change for your benefit.

What is the most effective treatment for autism?
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) has come to be considered the standard treatment for children with autism spectrum disorder, and research has confirmed its effectiveness for many children. Therapists trained in ABA techniques work with children (and their parents) on developing social skills, communication and learning abilities, and everyday habits of hygiene and grooming. The clinician will tailor their program to the child’s particular need but the overarching goal will be to help them advance as far as possible toward independence based on their level of symptoms and decrease the need for additional special services. Families should seek a mental health professional specifically trained in ABA, and holding special certification in the technique, who has extensive experience not only with the approach but in using it with children with the same level of symptoms as the child who needs care.
How does ABA work?
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) sessions, which typically focus on positive reinforcement, can be intensive, lasting two or more hours several times a week, and continuing for two years or more. Therapists can also be expected to ask parents to take an active role in reinforcing lessons. Research has found that the technique can lead to major improvements that decrease the need for additional special services.
How does treatment for autism work?
Therapy sessions based on Applied Behavior Analysis will likely be frequent, intensive, and highly structured. After a thorough assessment, a therapist will help a child understand and develop skills in a range of areas, including communication, motor skills, social skills, self-care, play, and academic skills, as well as routines of daily living like hygiene. Typically, the therapist will help a child break down the components of a behavior—often referred to as the antecedent (what prompts an action), the behavior, and the consequence(what immediately follows)—and then reward the child at every step, while also asking parents to reinforce the lessons, and the rewards, throughout the day. This core therapy may be supplemented by occupational or speech therapy, and antidepressants, antipsychotics, and anticonvulsants may be prescribed to address specific severe symptoms.
How long does therapy for autism take?
Some people with autism spectrum disorder may be engaged in some level of therapy for many years, but research shows that treatment will be most effective if it is begun early and delivered intensively. When therapy begins by age 3, children tend to be better able to grasp and adopt the skills needed to manage everyday life, including attending school and establishing social relationships. This type of early-intervention treatment regimen is highly structured, typically involving 20 to 40 hours of one-on-one therapy per week, along with additional hours of engagement managed by parents, for a period of two years or more, although the duration of treatment is dependent on the child’s level of symptoms and pace of progress.
