Do you feel like you're constantly having to adapt and please others, to feel ‘good enough’? Do you feel that if you were to show your honest and real self, you won’t be accepted or loved. This can be a lonely and desperate place to be, that will leave you feeling empty and exhausted all at once. Accepting who you are is an important inner journey that we will take together in our counselling sessions. I will support you in exploring many aspects of both you and your life so far, including your experiences, your family of origin, your personality type, your desires, your expectations, your passions and your fears.

If you’re looking for therapy at home because leaving the house is difficult, you may be dealing with anxiety, panic, agoraphobia, intrusive thoughts, OCD, trauma or phobias. These can make daily life feel restricted and exhausting. You might want clearer days and someone with solid mental‑health experience who understands how intense this can be, without jargon or pressure. Therapy needs to be practical, accessible and based on what you can manage right now.

We all struggle to make sense of experiences at times, especially when our life is in transition or we have unwanted changes. Perhaps you are going through the menopause, have a new job, responsibilities or are retiring, bereaved or divorced? Change can shake our sense of who we are. Therapy with me will provide the space to think about what is important to you, what do you value and what is stopping you living the life you want? Uncertainty often brings stress and anxiety. I know how this impacts the body and mind. I can talk through calming strategies. I want you to discover your vitality and life force again .

You are professionally capable and privately running on empty. You might be neurodivergent, navigating a world that was not built for your brain. You might be LGBTQIA+, still carrying the quiet cost of years spent not quite fitting. You might be a French expat, perfectly fluent and somehow still lost in translation. Or you might be in a relationship that used to feel like home and now feels like a negotiation. You are done performing. You are done being the version of yourself that everyone else finds easier. You are here because something has to change.

With over a decade of experience in private practice and the NHS, I work with both individuals and couples seeking deeper healing, self-understanding, and meaningful change. Clients I work with tend to come to therapy at important life and relationship junctions - navigating trauma, anxiety, overwhelm, or a growing sense that old patterns no longer fit who they are becoming. My approach is holistic, relational, and trauma-informed, integrating body-mind awareness through my background in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy. At the baseline, I offer a sounding board; a space that can help you grow, overcome, stabilise, and unfold safely.

Loneliness isn't always about being alone. Sometimes it's having people in your life but not feeling connected to them. Sometimes it's feeling that nobody really understands what your experience is like. Sometimes it's not having many people to turn to at all. Over time, loneliness can become more than a feeling. It can become a way of moving through the world. You stop expecting to be understood. You carry things by yourself. You begin to wonder whether connection is something other people seem to find more easily.

Speaking with someone for the first time about personal issues or trauma can feel really daunting. It is important to feel safe and not judged when talking about difficult things, and my aim is for us to develop a relationship where you can explore whatever it is that you need to. There is not an exhaustive list of the reasons for coming to counselling initially but one thing is sure and that is it begins with building trust and beginning to speak openly. Our sessions will be collaborative: I will facilitate, but you will lead the way. Even if you can't pin point why things feel difficult, you're not alone.

Reaching out for therapy is not always easy, and for many people it takes a long time before they feel ready to speak to someone. Often, by the time a person contacts me, they have already spent years trying to manage things on their own. I have over 17 years of experience working with anxiety, including OCD, neurodivergence, trauma, identity struggles, emotional regulation, self-worth, spiritual and personal development, and relationship difficulties. I offer a warm, non-judgemental space where you can feel understood, be yourself fully, find clarity and solutions, and begin moving beyond the issues that have been holding you back.

Are you navigating a period where life no longer feels familiar, after loss, separation, relocation, illness, or a major life transition? Perhaps you’ve been holding everything together for a long time, yet quietly feel unmoored, uncertain, or unlike yourself. You don’t have to face this period of change alone. I work with adults facing significant change who want a calm, thoughtful space to make sense of what has shifted. Many of the people I support are capable, reflective individuals who find themselves at an unexpected crossroads — grieving not only what has been lost, but questioning who they are now and how to move forward.

Do your feelings overwhelm you? Is it hard to stay in control? Are you unkind to yourself? I understand how hard it is to ask for help. Untangling a lifetime of feelings and thoughts can be daunting, but with the right support you can identify those limiting patterns and change the beliefs, feelings, and responses holding you back from the life you want and the person you want to be. Choice comes from understanding yourself, then making the right changes. I understand how hard it can be to do that on your own. I will be with you on that journey, supporting and empowering you to move from self-awareness to real, lasting change

What is lesbian-affirming therapy?
Lesbian-affirming therapy is a type of mental health support that fully affirms and reflects a client's lesbian identity. It is rooted in acceptance and does not attempt to change or question an individual's sexual orientation. In this type of therapy, clients work with a therapist who understands the unique experiences of lesbian women. This support is especially important, as research shows that lesbian individuals face higher rates of anxiety, depression, and other mental health challenges compared to heterosexual populations. Lesbian-affirming therapy acknowledges that lesbian individuals may encounter specific stressors—such as coming out challenges, family rejection, workplace discrimination, and minority stress—that require specialised understanding and intervention. Lesbian-affirming therapists often work with clients across all age groups, from adolescents navigating their emerging identity to adults and older individuals addressing life transitions and relationship concerns. Many therapists also provide couples therapy for lesbian partners, helping them navigate relationship dynamics, communication challenges, or external stressors that may impact their relationship. It is important to note that therapists provide talk therapy and counseling services but do not prescribe medication—if medication is needed for conditions like depression or anxiety, they will coordinate care with a psychiatrist or primary care physician who can provide psychiatric medication management alongside therapeutic support.

Why should I see a lesbian therapist?
Some clients prefer to work with lesbian therapists who may bring personal lived experience to the therapeutic relationship. Choosing to work with a lesbian therapist can offer a deeper sense of connection, comfort, and shared understanding. A therapist who identifies as lesbian may require clients to give less background explanation—whether it’s about navigating romantic relationships, feeling unseen in certain spaces, or processing the impact of past relationship challenges. However, a non-lesbian therapist with strong training and a sincere commitment to LGBTQ+ affirmation can be equally effective. The most important factor is finding a therapist who respects your identity and fosters trust, safety, and understanding. However, a non-lesbian therapist with strong training and a sincere commitment to LGBTQ+ affirmation can be equally effective. The most important factor is finding a therapist who respects your identity and fosters trust, safety, and understanding. Additionally, many lesbian-affirming therapists can connect clients to other providers or community-based resources—such as bisexual support groups or LGBTQ+ organisations—that offer additional affirming spaces for connection.

How do I find a lesbian therapist?
The Psychology Today online directory is a helpful tool for finding lesbian-affirming therapists. You can use search filters to identify therapists who specialise in LGBTQ+ care and work specifically with bisexual clients. You can also filter by clinical specialties, therapeutic approaches, accepted insurance, session costs, and languages spoken to find the right fit. Look for profiles where therapists explicitly mention working with lesbian clients, or where they describe their approach as identity-affirming, inclusive, or trauma-informed. Many providers will also list their own identities, which may help you find someone with shared lived experience if that is important to you. You can also look for credentials or continuing education in areas such as LGBTQ+ mental health, trauma-informed care, and intersectionality.
