Making sense of life and our relationships can be challenging at times. We might find ourselves contemplating if we are causing ourselves unnecessary unhappiness, or if this is 'just the way things are'? Should I just keep sticking at 'it', or is it time for things to change? Might we be living our lives in 'survival mode' when we could be 'thriving' instead?

Do you feel like you're constantly having to adapt and please others, to feel ‘good enough’? Do you feel that if you were to show your honest and real self, you won’t be accepted or loved. This can be a lonely and desperate place to be, that will leave you feeling empty and exhausted all at once. Accepting who you are is an important inner journey that we will take together in our counselling sessions. I will support you in exploring many aspects of both you and your life so far, including your experiences, your family of origin, your personality type, your desires, your expectations, your passions and your fears.

If you’re looking for therapy at home because leaving the house is difficult, you may be dealing with anxiety, panic, agoraphobia, intrusive thoughts, OCD, trauma or phobias. These can make daily life feel restricted and exhausting. You might want clearer days and someone with solid mental‑health experience who understands how intense this can be, without jargon or pressure. Therapy needs to be practical, accessible and based on what you can manage right now.

There is hope even if your brain tells you there isn't, and it is my job as a counsellor to help you see it. It is usually buried somewhere under layers of shame, self-criticism and feeling not good enough. We will work together to help you feel a deeper sense of fulfilment and control over your life. With the right support and tools, you can overcome challenges and lead a more balanced and satisfying life, even if now it seems impossible.

Many women I work with feel stuck in cycles of people-pleasing, low self-esteem, and over-responsibility, often linked to narcissistic relationships or the Mother Wound. You may struggle to set boundaries, feeling guilt, resentment, or anxiety when prioritising your own needs. Together, we explore these patterns with compassion, helping you understand their origins and impact. I offer a warm, supportive space where you can feel heard without judgement. Combining counselling and coaching, I help you build self-trust, set healthy boundaries, and create more balanced, fulfilling relationships.

Experience of long term relationship breakdown, abuse, trauma and serious illness inform my practice.
I believe you have it in you to find your best way of being, but the past, current circumstances or unwanted experiences may have knocked you 'off course'. We can re-set this! You may feel depressed, anxious or self-harming. “It” might seem impossible; whatever 'it' is, sounding it out in a safe space, testing those thoughts and beliefs, can help.

You might come to me feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or quietly hurting — struggling with anxiety, low self-worth, past relationships, or the weight of everything you’ve been carrying alone. Maybe you’re tired of overthinking, of not feeling “good enough,” or of repeating the same painful patterns. Here, you don’t have to hold it all together. I offer a gentle, safe space where you’re truly seen and heard, and together, we begin to make sense of your story, rebuild your confidence, and help you move forward with more clarity, strength, and self-compassion.

Domestic Abuse Counsellors
What are the most effective ways to recover from domestic abuse?
Leaving an abusive relationship requires tremendous courage, so survivors in treatment should recognise that they have already completed the most important step. Still, the trauma of physical or emotional abuse can be difficult to process and overcome. Therapy can help survivors process trauma, grief, and difficult emotions, treat relevant mental health symptoms, and create a new framework for boundaries and relationships in the future. For some, support groups can also be an invaluable outlet for healing.

When should an individual seek help for domestic abuse?
Victims of intimate partner violence should seek help immediately. It can take substantial time, planning, energy, and courage to leave an abusive relationship, but starting the process—by seeking therapy, calling the domestic violence hotline, or simply confiding in a loved one—will help them get there. Those who have left abusive relationships but haven’t sought treatment can also greatly benefit from therapy to process and heal from the experience.

What are the consequences of staying in an abusive relationship?
Remaining in an abusive relationship has serious repercussions. In addition to the ongoing threat of physical danger and emotional abuse, research shows that intimate partner violence is associated with a range of mental health disorders including depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, and substance abuse. Therefore it’s important for individuals in an abusive relationship to seek help as soon as possible.

How can you get domestic abuse treatment for someone else?
It can be very complicated to identify and leave an abusive relationship; barriers include the threat of violence, financial instability, and family pressures. Those concerned about a loved one in an abusive relationship should talk to them about the situation, provide them with resources such as the domestic violence hotline, and introduce the idea of seeing a therapist due to their concern for the person’s safety and well-being.
