In my mind therapy is not about fixing ourselves for we are not broken. I believe that in order to survive certain situations we may have adapted in ways that now leave us disconnected from ourselves and others. The process of therapy is not always easy and it takes courage to look inwards, it can feel counterintuitive to reveal our vulnerabilities in the presence of another, but I wonder if we are ever truly free if we choose not to.

I never thought I would need therapy. My relationship with my wife was great. I was the managing director of a successful company. Then life got tough and we found ourselves in crisis. Going to couple therapy together saved our marriage! We’ve been back to therapy many times to keep our relationship on course. What I learned from our couple therapy and my years of one-to-one psychotherapy transformed my marriage and my life. The results of the therapy impressed me so much I decided to change career. I wanted to offer the valuable insights and knowledge I had learned to other individuals and couples in distress.

I understand how hard it can be trying to decide which counsellor is right for you and to find a counsellor who you can trust and confide in and feel comfortable enough to be completely open with. We are all drawn to different counsellors and finding the right match is really important. It needs to be someone who you can relate to, who gets you, who listens to the detail and tries to help you uncover and understand how you are feeling in a patient and gentle way. I believe that establishing and building trust is key for the counselling relationship to develop.

I am a neurodiversity affirmative practitioner and support Autistic, ADHD and AuDHD clients in ways that are suited to their needs and processing style.
Many of my clients come feeling stuck in patterns they struggle to change; repeating unfulfilling relational dynamics, or relying on coping strategies that once felt protective but now feel limiting. You may feel unseen, exhausted by shame or self-criticism, or unsure how to trust your own boundaries and needs. For neurodivergent clients, these struggles can be intensified by years of masking, late diagnosis, and the pain of being misunderstood. Beneath it all is often a longing to feel more authentic, connected, and at home in yourself, and to create ways of living and relating that are more sustainable and real.

I am an AuDHD person (discovered 2010).
Even though you are looking for a psychotherapist or coach who specialises in working with neurodivergent people, your identity may not be the central reason for seeking a therapist. You can arrive presenting with anything that is part of human experience or life. Yet, the importance of choosing an autistic psychotherapist is that there will be understanding of sensory and processing differences and many shared understanding. This means that wrong assumptions about how you ‘should be’ aren’t made, you won't be misread, and, consequently, the work will have meaning and usefulness for you. Adult individuals and couples are welcome.

I work mostly with autistic and ADHD adults, people from stressful or unhappy families, and people in their 20s facing a quarter-life crisis.
My approach to therapy is person-centred, which means I believe that you know best what's right for you, not me. I'm there to be accepting, curious and safe, and to help you find your own answers. I've found this works especially well for neurodivergent people.

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?
You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.

How does treatment for ADHD work?
Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioural therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.

How long does treatment for ADHD take?
It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
