Transpersonal Counselling in Folkestone
I believe that deep healing is possible when we approach the psyche with compassion, curiosity, and a willingness to listen to the body and soul.
As a holistic Jungian psychotherapist, intuitive coach, healer, and supervisor, I work with individuals seeking to understand themselves more fully, often after trauma, loss, dissociation, or longstanding emotional struggles. My approach combines depth psychotherapy with spiritual insight and somatic awareness. I hold a space that welcomes every part of you—mind, body, emotions, and spirit.

It can be life-enhancing to have someone listen and help you make sense of what’s going on. But I also know how hard it can be to find the right support at the right time. That’s one of the reasons I decided to become a therapist myself. I have a wealth of real life experience . I know the stresses and strains of being a human in todays world having been a professional photographer and worked in the construction industry .

From time to time everyone experiences stress, sadness, anger, relational conflict and grief which we often suffer alone. Accepting help from others can be difficult but maybe you feel you’ve toughing it out on your own for too long.
Whether you are struggling with an identifiable trauma or you’ve reached a point where recurring feelings are becoming unmanageable; a course of psychotherapeutic counselling may help you make sense of what is happening and enable you to gain and maintain some stability. Feelings of fear, anger, rejection and lack of confidence are difficult areas and discussing them with friends too raw and personal.

Hi my name is Sam. I work with children and young people. My focus when working with children and young people is to find a way to work with them to help with all of their areas of difficulty, from emotional to school and the variety of difficulties they can experience. I find that children and young people feel most comfortable in a familiar surrounding so I always try to work with the child in their own home or school.

I started my therapy practice fifteen years ago, when I first qualified as an Integrative Humanistic counsellor. Since then I have met with many people in various therapeutic settings, both short and long-term. Relationship difficulties, work stress, low mood, over-anxiety, loss and bereavement - these are all issues clients have brought into the therapy room recently. Whatever they bring, I work together with the client to resolve things as best they can, while learnng a few insights about themselves on the way.

Transpersonal Counsellors
How does transpersonal therapy work?
Transpersonal therapy focuses on a patient’s spirituality and meaning in life. Transpersonal therapists might borrow from Eastern traditions as well as Western psychology. They may incorporate techniques including meditation, visualisation, hypnotherapy, dream analysis, and or breathwork to produce altered states of consciousness. The therapist helps the patient to access their consciousness and spirituality to work through difficult mental states.
How long does transpersonal therapy last?
Because the goal is to understand a person as a whole, including their spirituality, treatment can range from months to a year or beyond. While patients learn the philosophy behind transpersonal therapy during treatment, they can also practice its principles throughout life after therapy sessions have ended.
Is transpersonal therapy effective?
Patients have found success with transpersonal therapy; this method is useful in improving anxiety, depression, self-esteem, identity, fears, relationship problems, and other concerns. Improvements in problem areas can continue even after transpersonal therapy ends, as individuals can utilise the tools they’ve learned during treatment sessions.
What are the limitations of transpersonal therapy?
There is some research on the effectiveness of transpersonal therapy, but empirical support for this therapy approach is sparse. It does not have the robust evidence base of other forms of therapy, such as cognitive behavioural therapy or acceptance and commitment therapy.
