I am qualified at Level 6 trauma counselling, after qualifying at Level 4, I noticed that a lot of clients who came to me with anxiety; depression; low self esteem and a number of other issues, had one thing in common, they had experienced trauma in their life. This led me to want to learn more about trauma and its impact, and the safest way of working with those who have suffered trauma. My way of working is integrative and I follow the three phase model of working, beginning with safety and stabilisation to ensure you are ready to process your memories.

My ideal clients are adults feeling anxious, low, or disconnected from their bodies due to trauma, stress, or life transitions. Many are corporate professionals navigating executive burnout or complex work-life balances. They often find traditional talking therapy only goes so far because emotional history and chronic tension are physically held in the nervous system. Working together, we bridge mind and body. This collaborative, somatic approach helps release old patterns, restore nervous system flow, and guide you back to a deep, grounded sense of aliveness.

I believe that therapy should be accessible, there are concessions an offer for working parents & students.
Hi, I am Varsha and I would like to introduce myself. The slogan is "Everyone can transform from the ugly duckling to the real swan they are meant to be". In these few words of this quote, I am introducing myself. like you, I am a person who has experienced life's up's and down's, has been in the depth of the well of sadness, confusion, wanting to let everything go ... I have screamed, hidden, while been in the dark, cold and surrounded by walls that are getting more narrow by the hour. Strangely something inside me woke up because someone heard me screaming "help", even when I was embarrassed asking for support.

My ideal client is able to reflect on their emotions and what's happened to them in their lives and relationships. They have the time and space to give to this. They have some motivation to change and can take some responsibility for the work we do together. We would work together to explore what they need and identify personal goals, this may change over the course of therapy.

I work with adults who feel anxious, overwhelmed, or stuck, often despite being self-aware and trying to cope on their own. You might notice your mind won’t switch off, your body feels on edge, or past experiences are still affecting how you feel and respond day to day. I help you make sense of what’s going on and support you to feel calmer, more grounded, and more in control. I work with issues including grief, trauma, ADHD, burnout, relationship and family difficulties, and challenges around self-esteem and identity.

I guess you're wondering who I can help? Perhaps one of the following descriptions and scenarios fits you: your anxiety and stress levels are so high, you feel like exploding; your self esteem and confidence are so low they're dragging on the ground; you seem always to form the same rotten relationships, or the relationships you have with friends and family feel more like 'Apocalypse Now' than 'Happy days'. Or, perhaps, you have experienced a bereavement and you're struggling to adapt to the new life thrust upon you. If any of these desriptions or scenarios fit you, then I can offer you the support you need to make positive changes.

I’m a Senior Accredited NCPS and UKCP-reg. Gestalt psychotherapist working with individuals, groups and couples. My work is relational and experiential, with a focus on what unfolds between us in the present moment, as well as how your past continues to shape your emotional world, relationships, and sense of self. I tend to work with people who feel caught in familiar but difficult patterns, whether that’s anxiety, low mood, ADHD, relational struggles, or the impact of earlier experiences. Often this can show up as overwhelm, self-criticism, emotional intensity, or a sense of disconnection, either from yourself or from others.

Parenting Counsellors
What does therapy for parenting look like?
Therapists may work with parents individually, together, or include the whole family to find solutions for the problems a parent faces. Many parent-based therapies work on a parent’s relationship with their children, problem-solving within the family, and analysis of family dynamics. Therapy conducted remotely by video may be helpful in allowing a therapist to observe how families interact in their own homes.

When should a parent seek therapy?
When behavioral problems begin to disrupt the healthy functioning of a family, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If parents find that children are acting out in school, have started using drugs or alcohol, have developed eating disorders, or other similar red flags, a therapist may be able to help.

How long does therapy take for parenting problems?
Depending on the severity of a family’s challenges and the type of treatment utilized, therapy for parenting can last from weeks to months. Cognitive behavioral therapy is a pragmatic therapy type that can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. Structural family therapy, which inspects family dynamics, often takes several months. Parent-child interaction therapy is typically shorter-term, lasting between 10 and 20 sessions. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.

Can therapy help parents dealing with burnout or stress?
Parenting is difficult. Parents may dismiss or conceal feelings of exhaustion, overwhelm, or escape ideation—imagining withdrawing from their parental obligations altogether. but left unattended, these feelings can have negative effects on the whole family. A therapist can help parents work on the skills they might need to better cope with the burdens of parenting and help them be the best parents they can be.
