Hello, my name is Karolina and I am an accredited psychotherapist offering a reflective and creative therapeutic space for individuals seeking personal growth, emotional resilience, and improved mental well-being. My approach is collaborative and client-centred, providing a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental environment where you can explore past experiences and present challenges at your own pace.
Because no two people are the same, I believe therapy should be personalised to fit your unique journey. This means therapy is shaped around your values, experiences, and needs—not a one-size-fits-all method.

Hello, I’m Iris. I’m an integrative counsellor and therapist working with adults who feel overwhelmed, emotionally stretched, burnt out, or worn down from holding things together. Many people I work with appear to cope on the outside while feeling anxious, unsettled, or stuck beneath the surface. Therapy can offer a place to slow down, feel supported, and begin to make sense of what you’re carrying.

I am a compassionate, experienced counsellor, practicing both in person and online to best suit you. I am an integrative therapist which means that I draw on several modalities to work in the best way and 'fit' for you. There is no 'one size fits all' in my practice as each of us is unique in our own thoughts, feelings and personal situations. Life can be so tricky at times and I am here to provide that 'extra support' that you might need at this time, to listen, really listen, and to understand what you might be going through, to then help you find clarity in the overwhelm and the best way forward for you.

Great, you have already taken the first steps for you. I am not the expert on you, you are. I am here to support and explore with you what you maybe finding difficult or just not feeling Ok. This may be in your relationships, in your physical body or you are finding both these things are overwhelming sometimes. Together we can wonder, ponder and educate ourselves and understand, why? Then we can make a strategy and build on your already available resilience (you are here remember), and improve this together. This maybe just a few sessions, sometimes just one or a little longer if you need this.

I believe that therapy should feel safe, collaborative, and tailored to your unique needs. Therapy can be exploratory, looking at past or present issues, or more directive and goal-oriented - whatever suits your needs and the issues you bring.

There's a first time for everything. Most newcomers to counselling & psychotherapy start out feeling a little intimidated by the idea of this rather mysterious process. I aim to demystify what I do - clients often comment on what they describe as a down-to-earth and accessible approach. My aim is ultimately to help you understand yourself and your behaviour. I feel that goal is best achieved by working in a non-threatening, straightforward and inclusive way.

With 25 years experience as a Counsellor & 10 years as an Art Psychotherapist within various NHS, Education and Community-based services, I've since specialised in EMDR therapy and am an Accredited Practitioner with the EMDR Association UK.
Although EMDR is widely recognised as a trauma-focused therapy, it can also be effective in treating a broad range of issues, often in a relatively short-term time-frame.
EMDR helps process intense emotions, self-limiting beliefs & behavioural patterns in the present which seem stuck on repeat, as they often track back to distressing or overwhelming relational-issues or life events in the past.

Women's Issues Counsellors
How do you encourage a woman to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual may be suffering, and what effects it has on them, should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
How can women prepare for therapy?
Women can prepare for therapy by being willing to talk about their past experiences and their private thoughts. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. Between sessions, it can be useful to write down notes about their reaction to a given event or how they felt at a particular time.
How long does therapy for women’s issues often last?
As with any type of therapy, sessions depend on the individual and the challenges they face. Therapy types like Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), Prolonged exposure therapy (PET), and Eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR) can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. In some cases, such as for women with eating disorders, residential treatment may be recommended for an individual who is judged to be at high risk of self-harm. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realised.
How can women overcome stigma around specific challenges in order to seek therapy?
Women dealing with domestic abuse, sexual assault, eating disorders, and any other number of troubles may feel a stigma around seeking help. It’s important to remember that these issues are not uncommon and there is no shame in getting help for them. Therapy is confidential, and women can talk about their experiences without fear of judgment. Seeking therapy can be a courageous and liberating act, and an important step toward healing and recovery.
