I believe therapy is a collaborative process, where we will explore the past to make sense of the present, cultivating awareness and coping skills to help you manage what can feel unmanageable. My aim is to support you in a confidential professional manner and together we will try to understand what is going on for you and find some resolve. I work psychodynamically and as an EMDR practitioner I thread this into my work.

If you are needing support with your mental health, important life choices, or problems within your relationships - these things are not always easy to manage or change on our own.
Counselling is often referred to as a talking therapy. I offer you a professional, confidential, safe, respectful and relaxed environment where you can be free to express yourself without fear of judgement. I will listen carefully to try and understand your concerns and needs, and with you, help to find the right and appropriate way forward of your choosing.

We can also engage in unhealthy relationships or people pleasing behaviours all things that can be a cost to ourselves and our own wellbeing.
Hi, I offer CBT and person centred counselling this means I accept and support you to explore ways to help overcome uncomfortable or traumatic emotions you may be experiencing. I have also trained in cognitive behavioural therapy which can help support and reframe thinking. We may have experiences in life that can be overwhelming or we are unable to make sense of the events that may have happened to us. Asking for help can be the first step for us to overcome or understand how we are feeling and the repetitive behaviour's or thoughts that can keep us in a unhealthy cycle, working together allows us to find heathy self-awareness.

I am a Chartered Psychologist (HCPC) and Registered Psychotherapist (UKCP) using a wealth of experience and expertise to work with people with anxiety, depression, relationship issues and many other mental health problems.
Psychotherapy is about being listened to and seen in a particular way. There is nowhere else in life that offers a time and space to focus on your 'self' - your body and your mind. My Kent practice is in the village of Bridge near Canterbury and is easy to reach.

Sometimes people may experience emotional distress and pain arising from life changes, relationship break-up, redundancy, bereavement.
Through counselling I work with clients to developed understanding and draw on strengths and resources to overcome problems and make positive changes in their life. Some issues are better treated using EMDR, which has been shown to be the most effective and successful treatment for traumatic memories, difficult life events and their effects such as anxiety.

I have completed multiple training including the following fields; Drug & Alcohol, Sexual Therapies, Couples Counselling & Safeguarding.
Life is hard! Sometimes working out what we need, even what we are can be tough. I work using the pluralistic approach, this is to say that I treat each client as an individual, who will need an individual approach to therapy. We (the client and I) will work together and regularly assess the work in a way that recognises that different processes and approaches are needed to ensure the client gets the best possible tailored therapy.

I offer a safe therapeutic relationship that seeks to understand you as a unique person.
You may be considering psychotherapy because you have a specific concern or are experiencing ‘symptoms’ that you want to address. You may be experiencing anxiety, depression, or a general sense of unease and feel life is meaningless or joyless. Perhaps you are facing some significant change in your life and unsure what to do. Or maybe you are feeling stuck finding yourself in the same place, repeating the same patterns, despite your efforts to change things. Or perhaps you want to get to know yourself more deeply and experience life more fully.

This is because our relationship and the trust we build is always at the heart of the work we do together.
Hello and welcome to my page. Firstly, seeking help is not easy but you've already made steps towards improving the very reasons that brought you here in the first place. If you are feeling as though something is getting in the way of your happiness, success and fulfilment we can speak about how we might work together towards a solution to these struggles.. Sometimes we experience extreme pressures, stresses, traumas that are set upon us and we can feel that we are unable to find a way out on our own. If you are feeling overwhelmed and you are ready to make changes that will bring you peace, then you are in the right place.

Couples Counselling Counsellors
Does couples counseling work?
Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.

When should a couple seek counseling?
Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.

How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?
The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.

How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?
The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
