I specialise in helping young people with problems like adjusting to a medical diagnosis, health anxiety, medical trauma, distressing procedures, pain management, treatment adherence, decision making, worries about life transitions, fear of the dentist, fear of needles and the impact of an illness on relationships with friends,
and intimate partners.
I'm Holly, a clinical psychologist who works with 12 to 24 year olds with physical health challenges. Our physical health and mental health are closely linked, so living with a visible or invisible illness can also impact on our thoughts, feelings and behaviour. Thoughts like 'it's not fair', 'why me?', 'I wish it would go away', are normal, but can cause extra suffering on top of physical health challenges that are not going away. A fear of the dentist or needles can stop you getting the treatment or vaccinations you need. I can help you find ways to manage these challenges and get on with living your best life.
