Domestic Abuse Counselling in Epsom
At Holt and Heart Counselling, I work with adults who may be facing feelings of anxiety, low mood, stress, relationship challenges, grief, or major life changes. I offer a safe space to pause, reflect and be heard—a place to reconnect with your own strength, clarity, and sense of self. Therapy can help you begin to gently turn back toward yourself, to begin trusting your own inner compass again. Not by shutting others out, but by including yourself in the picture with the same care and importance you give to those around you.

Perhaps you are hoping to find and develop relationships that are more meaningful or are struggling with a relationship you were or indeed are in. You may be experiencing feelings of anxiety or dissatisfaction with life. There may be problems at work that require an impartial caring ear or you may be feel there are questions about sexuality that you would like to consider. It could be that you want to look at your general mood or maybe there is simply the need to unpick your thoughts. In any instance, people often find that simply talking to another person about how they are feeling is helpful.

I have worked in a number of different contexts including four NHS trusts, a specialist rehab facility for alcohol addiction, and a charitable organisation supporting children affected by domestic violence.
I will offer you a warm, supportive and collaborative space where together, we make sense of how your particular struggles came to be. We will formulate goals that you would like to achieve in therapy to provide an agreed focus, and to ensure you are getting what you need. I primarily use an integrative approach using Schema Therapy and CBT

You may have had experience of counselling or therapy , or none at all. Sometimes it is hard to make the first step into talking therapy. You may be feeling that it could be helpful to have some time to talk about what is going on in your life, about feelings of loss, unhappiness, anxiety or maybe that things are just not 'right'. Feelings of loneliness and isolation are particularly difficult at this time. Working with the right counsellor can help to work through issues from the past , present day problems or looking towards the future and what you may want to change in your life.

Hello, welcome to my page. I am an integrative counsellor, which means I use different approaches to therapy depending on the client’s individual needs. I am a member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and abide by the guidelines set out in their Ethical Framework (2108). I offer both long and short term therapy in the form of 50 minute sessions, with a focus on providing a safe, empathetic space that feels supportive and non-judgemental. There can be many reasons why we seek counselling, whether that’s due to difficulties from the past, or working on change and self awareness in the here and now.

Is it difficult for yourself to connect to your emotions and feelings? Sometimes it is complicated to find a link to enable us express freely. Unintentionally, we can create a habit in which we suppress, run away, deny or manipulate our emotions. It is normal to try to push away feelings of discomfort like stress, fear or pain; but there are tools you can learn to help you cope with these emotions in a healthy way. Instead of denying, distracting yourself, manipulating or disconnecting, you can accept, observe, acknowledge and connect deeply with your feelings.

If you're struggling with anxiety or depression at the moment then I can help.
At the heart of my work is the belief that our earliest relationships shape how we see ourselves and connect with others. I help clients explore potentially hidden patterns of trust and security that may be having an impact on their relationships, emotions, and sense of self.
I provide a supportive space for you to slow down, reflect, and explore what’s happening beneath the surface. By bringing these into the open, you can begin to create new ways of relating, heal from old wounds and develop a more authentic sense of self.

I volunteer in NHS Youth Counselling Service as well as Sexual Abuse services and have experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities and neurodivergence.
Are you feeling overwhelmed by relationship difficulties, low confidence or self-worth, or the impact of past experiences? You may feel stuck in patterns you don’t understand, disconnected from yourself or others, or as though you’re holding everything together while struggling underneath. My own experiences of grief, trauma and complex relationships shaped the therapist I am today. I offer a warm, compassionate, trauma-informed space for adults, young people and couples to explore what’s happening at your own pace.

I am Psychotherapeutic Counsellor and trauma-informed practitioner, offering a compassionate and individualised approach to therapy.
My work is grounded in pluralistic counselling, meaning I tailor each session to the unique needs, preferences, and goals of the person I am working with. I believe there is no single right way to approach therapy, instead it is about finding what works best for you and integrating modalities that best suit your needs.

It can be tricky to choose a therapist and understand the various titles therapists go by and the different types of therapies on offer. I think one of the most important factors in choosing a therapist is the fit between the client and therapist and whether the relationship feels warm and empathic. My therapeutic style is to identify and build on existing strengths and to offer a supportive space to explore difficulties and patterns of behaviour. Having had my own psychotherapy, I am familiar with what it feels like to be on the receiving end of therapy and I am sensitive to this during my work. (Online only- not in person).

Sometimes, being part of the LGBTQ+ community can be a very lonely existence, and we are not all ‘out and proud’ or lucky enough to feel part of a wider LGBTQ+ family. You may be experiencing isolation, shame, or perhaps you have faced rejection from your family or friends. I do not assume that your struggles are related to your sexuality or gender, but if you are trying to deal with something specific in your personal life, or are simply overwhelmed and feeling alone in your current situation, I can offer you a private and non-judgemental space for the exploration of anything which may be causing you pain.
